Abstract

Hewan ternak seringkali mengeluarkan kotoran dalam jumlah yang banyak sebagai hasil limbah dan memiliki bau yang tidak sedap. Namun, dalam pengolahan limbah peternakan seperti kotoran, masyarakat di Kanagarian Padang Belimbing Kecamatan X Koto Singkarak Kabupaten Solok Sumatera Barat masih belum maksimal untuk memanfaatkan kotoran ternak tersebut. Kotoran kambing memiliki kandungan bahan organik yang menyediakan zat hara bagi tanaman melalui proses penguraian. Proses tersebut terjadi dengan melepaskan bahan organik yang sederhana untuk pertumbuhan tanaman. Permasalahan yang di alami masyarakat adalah belum adanya mesin pengolahan kotoran kambing menjadi pupuk kandang. Tujuan pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah untuk menyediakan mesin penggiling kotoran kambing untuk meningkatkan efisiensi kinerja peternak kambing dan petani. Mesin penggiling kotoran kambing merupakan mesin untuk mengolah kotoran kambing menjadi pupuk kandang. Metode yang digunakan adalah pengembangan teknologi tepat guna. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan melalui dua tahap, yaitu: tahap pertama, observasi dengan melakukan metode pengumpulan data dokumentasi dan diskusi dengan peternak kambing. Tahap kedua adalah tahap pengembangan mesin penggiling kotoran kambing. Hasil dalam kegiatan ini adalah tersedianya mesin penggiling kotoran kambing, peningkatan wawasan dan pengetahuan tentang teknologi mesin penggiling kotoran kambing. serta meningkatkan taraf hidup masyarakat Kanagarian Padang Belimbing Kecamatan X Koto Singkarak Kabupaten Solok Sumatera Barat.

Abstract

Penelitian pengembangan ini bertujuan (1) Mengungkapkan seberapa besar kontribusi dukungan orang tua terhadap minat berwirausaha (2) Mengungkapkan seberapa besar kontribusi pengalaman praktik kerja industri terhadap minat berwirausaha (3) Mengungkapkan seberapa besar kontribusi motivasi belajar terhadap minat berwirausaha (4) Mengungkapkan seberapa besar kontribusi dukungan orang tua, pengalaman praktik kerja industri, dan motivasi belajar secara bersama-sama terhadap minat berwirausaha siswa kelas XII TKJ SMK Negeri 1 Sintoga Kabupaten Padang Pariaman. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dan asosiatif. Jenis data yaitu data primer dimana data yang diperoleh melalui angket dan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari SMK N 1 Sintoga. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis data deskriptif yaitu dengan mendeskripsikan kontribusi masing-masing variabel. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini sebagai berikut (1) Terdapat kontribusi dukungan orang tua terhadap minat berwirausaha siswa kelas XII TKJ SMK Negeri 1 Sintoga Kabupaten Padang Pariaman dengan kontribusi sebesar 16,67%. (2) Terdapat kontribusi pengalaman praktik kerja industri terhadap minat berwirausaha siswa kelas XII TKJ SMK Negeri 1 Sintoga Kabupaten Padang Pariaman dengan kontribusi sebesar 12,93%. (3) Terdapat kontribusi motivasi belajar terhadap minat berwirausaha siswa kelas XII TKJ SMK Negeri 1 Sintoga Kabupaten Padang Pariaman dengan kontribusi sebesar 20,99%. (4) Terdapat kontribusi dukungan orang tua, pengalaman praktik kerja industri, dan motivasi belajar secara bersama-sama terhadap minat berwirausaha siswa kelas XII TKJ SMK Negeri 1 Sintoga Kabupaten Padang Pariaman dengan kontribusi sebesar 11,36%.

Abstract

Based on interviews at SMK Negeri 2 Banda Aceh in 2021, obtained from 25 students, 4 people did not pass the skills test in the subject of building utility systems, with an average knowledge score of 79.2 and an average skill score of 78.4 One of the factors is the inadequate infrastructure in carrying out the learning process, especially practicum learning. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the learning process of building utility system subjects in the Construction and Property Engineering Expertise Program using the CIPPO model at SMK Negeri 2 Banda Aceh City. This research is an evaluation research using the CIPPO model, namely the evaluation of the context, input, process, product and outcome. The type of research is a mixed method with Concurrent Triangulation Strategy. Sources of qualitative data were obtained from the Principal, Deputy Principal of the School of Facilities and Infrastructure, Head of the Construction and Property Engineering Expertise Program, Head of Lab and 5. Teachers who teach building utility systems at SMK Negeri 2 Banda Aceh. Quantitative data were taken from 40 students of class XII and XIII. The results showed that the context component was in the sufficient category (73.59%), the Input component was in the sufficient category (75.69%), the process component was in the sufficient category (72.01%), the Product component was in the sufficient category (66.5 %), and the outcome component is also in the sufficient category (73.25%). Because all components are in the sufficient category, it is recommended to make appropriate improvements to improve student achievement abilities in the subject of building utility systems in the Construction and Property Engineering Expertise Program at SMK Negeri 2 Banda Aceh.

Abstract

Mechanical engineering education plays a very important role in providing students with the knowledge and skills to become competent professionals in the industrialised world. This learning process involves the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, and the demonstration method naturally helps to combine both aspects. The demonstration method has proved to be a promising approach to improving students' understanding and practical skills in the subject of milling machining techniques.  This study aims to improve the understanding and practical skills of Mechanical Engineering Class XI students at SMK Negeri 5 Padang through the application of the demonstration method. Using a quasi-experimental research design, the results showed that the use of the demonstration method significantly improved students' understanding and skills. The evaluation by a team of validators also showed that the method was valid in terms of materials, methods and instruments. There was a difference and an increase in scores between the control class and the experimental class. In the written comprehension test, the control class scored an average of 65, while the experimental class scored an average of 80.62. In the practical skills test using the evaluation sheet, the control class achieved an average of 48.87, while the experimental class achieved an average of 74.78. This indicates a positive influence and change in the students' understanding and practical skills after implementing the demonstration method.

Abstract

The surface roughness quality of machining product plays important role when it contacted with other machine components. That quality depends on several parameters setting, such as material, cutting tool, cutting condition and operator skill. The aim of this study is to obtain the optimum setting of turning parameters by using Taguchi method. Three control factors: cutting speed, depth of cut, and feeding at three different levels are selected. A series CNC turning process on AISI 1045 material were performed using L9 (3)3 orthogonal array with cutting fluid. Insert carbide cutting tool is used in the experiment. In order to reveal the optimum machining parameter, smaller the better is quality characteristic selected for surface roughness examination of workpiece. Analysis of experiment results revealed that higher cutting speed, low feed, low depth of cut respectively, provides fine surface quality of machined workpiece. Moreover, feed f parameter was found most influence to the surface rougness quality with 53.73% contribution, cutting speed v provides 23.28% contribution, and depth of cut a provides 17.87% contribution. Confirmation experiment shows that level 3 of cutting speed, level 2 of cutting depth, and level 1 of feed deliver smoothest machined surface of Ra 0,46 µm.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the project-based learning model on learning outcomes in class XII Manufacturing Engineering Drawing subjects at SMK Semen Padang. The type of research used in this study is Quasy experimental using one experimental class and one control class. The study involved 20 experimental class students and 20 control class students. Data was collected with test questions in the form of pre-test and post-test to determine learning outcomes in aspects of Knowledge (cognitive), and assessment of student performance to determine learning outcomes in aspects of skills (psychomotor). Analyze the initial data to determine the average of the classes to be used for the determination of the experimental class and the control class. The final data analysis used is the T test. The results showed a significant influence on learning outcomes using a project-based learning model. The results of the T test on the Post-test results obtained a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.004 which is smaller than 0.05 with an average percentage of 71.8 in the Experiment class and 65.1 in the control class. For the T Test on student performance assessment, a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.027 is obtained which is smaller than 0.05. Both T-tests prove that project-based learning models can provide better learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the project-based learning model on learning outcomes in class XI lathe subjects majoring in Mechanical Engineering SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya. The type of research that the authors conducted was Quasi Experimental Design (pseudo / quasi experiment) research. The experimental research design used in this study was in the form of nonequivalent control group desaign. This study uses pre-test and post-test tests to students to see students' understanding before and after using the learning model, whether there is a good enough improvement after applying the learning model. Based on the results of research and discussion, Quasi-Experiment research in the subject of Lathe Machining Engineering class XI Machining Engineering SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya can be concluded as follows. First, the project-based learning model in the experimental class in the Lathe Machining Engineering subject was successfully implemented in class XI of the Machining Engineering of SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya. Second, student learning outcomes The acquisition of this final score increased from the previous average score of 53. Third, the skills and creativity of students in the subject of Lathe Machining Engineering Class XI Machining Engineering SMK Negeri 1 Tanjung Raya, carried out using a psychomotor assessment rubric and obtained an average score in the control class of 74 and the experimental class of 80.

Abstract

Permasalahan mitra di Asam Kamba Pasar Baru Kecamatan Bayang Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan Sumatera Barat adalah tidak sesuainya harga pembelian pelet (pakan ikan) oleh peternak ikan dengan pendapatan penjualan ikan. Harga pembelian pelet (pakan  ikan) yang mahal menghambat dari usaha peternak ikan. Permasalahan kedua pelet yan dijual di pasar pakan ikan  kadang kala tidak tersedia secara kontinu. Solusi yang ditawarkan dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah mengadakan Mesin Pellet Maker Four Roller System di desa Asam Kamba Pasar Baru Pesisir Selatan Sumatera Barat. Dengan tersedia nya Mesin Pellet Maker Four Roller System maka akan teratasi masalah masarakat dalam usaha Peternak ikan. Masarakat peternak ikan dapat memproduksi ikan secara mandiri dan mengurangi biaya dalam peternak ikan dan dapat meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat. Mesin Pellet Maker Four Roller System dirancang dengan khusus untuk dapat memproduksi pakan ikan dengan efektif. Karna dengan menggunakan Sistem empat Roler dapat memproduksi ikan dengan Optimal. Uraian singkat rencana kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah membuka wawasan masyarakat terhadap aplikasi teknologi tepat guna. Aplikasi teknologi tepat guna ini adalah penerapan mesin pembuat pelet ikan. Diharapkan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini masyarakat peternak ikan ini dapat memproduksi  pakan ternak secara mandiri.  Ketersediaan bahan baku untuk pakan ternak ikan ini cukup banyak tersedia disekitar. Mulai dari dedak, ampas tahu,  tepung ikan, jagung  dan sebagainya. Pemanfaatan bahan baku ini memberikan masukan bagi masyarakat sekaligus terbuka alih teknologi tepat guna. Dampak lain juga memberikan lapangan kerja baru dimasyarakat seperti untuk operasional dan perawatan mesin, pengumpul bahan baku, distribusi pakan ternak dan sebagainya. Secara  keseluruahan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakt ini dapat memberikan peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat. Selain menambah wawasan masyarakat rencana kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah melakukan desain Mesin Pellet Maker Four Roller System, membuat mesin pencetak pelet Sistem empat Roler, mendemontrasikan kemasyarakat Asam Kamba Pasar Baru Kecamatan Bayang Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan Sumatera Barat, melatih masarakat dalam memroduksi pelet dan memberikan langkah-langkah perawatan dari mesin pencetak pelet ikan Sistem empat Roler.

Abstract

Permasalahan mitra di Asam Kamba Pasar Baru Kecamatan Bayang Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan Sumatera Barat adalah Permasalahan Pertama, Mesin Huller/ Rice berada jauh dari pemungkiman masyarakat Asam Kamba. Hal ini sebagian masyarakat sangat jauh dalam penggilingan padi. Permasalahan kedua, untuk membawa padi untuk penggilingan membutuhkan alat trasportasi dan penggilingan padi harus dilaksanakan beberapa karung padi sehingga menunggu jumlah yang banyak sehingga membutuhkan waktu lama. Mesin penggilingan padi ini belum tersedia di Asam Kamba. Solusi dan permasalahan tersebut adalah tersedianya mesin Rice Milling. Dengan adanya Mesin Rice Milling, petani akan terbantu dalam menggiling padi untuk kebutuhan sehari hari. Selain di sediakan nya mesin Rice Milling juga dilakukan pelatihan usaha penggilingan padi kepada masyarakat Asam Kamba Pasar Baru. Pelatihan ini terdiri dari pelatihan pengoperasian mesin, pelatihan perawatan mesin dan pelatihan pengelolaan hasil penggilingan. Dengan adanya mesin Rice Milling maka juga akan dapat meningkatkan pendapatan kelompok tani. Pengabdian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membantu masyarakat khususnya petani padi yang berada sangat jauh dari huller/ Rice Milling. Bentuk pengabdian masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah mengaplikasikan teknologi tepat guna Mesin Rice Milling untuk mengolah padi menjadi beras. Kegiatan ini dilakukan di Kelompok Tani Setia Kawan dan Kelompok Tani Badunsanak yang berjarak sekitar 72,8 KM dari ibukota propinsi Sumatera Barat. Khalayak sasarannya adalah masyarakat petani padi di Kelompok Tani Setia Kawan dan Kelompok Tani Badunsanak. Melalui pendekatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan pendekatan untuk membuka wawasan terhadap Mesin Rice Milling. Diharapkan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini masyarakat ini dapat menggiling padi secara mandiri dan dapat membuka usaha baru dalam menggiling padi.

Abstract

In recent years, the exploration of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) composites has garnered significant attention due to their versatility applications in aqueous environments. However, despite their promise, neat PVA exhibit limitations such as significant mechanical degradation under repeated swelling cycles. This study investigates the durability and tribological performance of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) composites reinforced with nickel-iron layered double hydroxide (LDH) and tannic acid (TA) under repeated swelling cycles. Building on previous research that explored composite preparation and initial characterization, this research emphasizes the effects of cyclic swelling on wear resistance, friction behavior, and mechanical properties. Tribological tests were conducted to evaluate the coefficient of friction (COF) and wear rate before and after multiple swelling cycles, alongside tensile strength and strain measurements. The results revealed that the PVA/TA2/LDH2 composite, containing the highest additive content, exhibited the lowest wear rate of 11.52 × 10⁻⁵ mm³/Nm after 3 swelling cycles, demonstrating superior resistance to material degradation. Although PVA/TA2/LDH1 exhibited a slightly lower COF, its wear rate was higher due to reduced reinforcement. Compared to neat PVA, which showed a COF increase from 0.45 to 0.53, the PVA/LDH/TA composites retained their tribological stability, with only a marginal increase in COF and wear rate. Similarly, tensile strength of PVA/TA2/LDH2 decreased by only 11% after 3 cycles (from 33.3 MPa to 30 MPa), while neat PVA experienced a 25.5% reduction (from 30 MPa to 22.5 MPa). These findings highlight the potential of PVA/LDH/TA composites for applications in aqueous environments, offering significantly enhanced long-term performance and reliability.
