Abstract

Penelitian ini melaporkan temuan penelitian kualitatif studi wawancara tentang persepsi siswa pada program membaca ekstensif teks sastra melalui peta cerita. Pertanyaan penelitiannya adalah: Dengan cara apa siswa memahami teks sastra melalui membaca ekstensif dengan peta cerita? Dan bagaimana reaksi siswa terhadap kegiatan ini? Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap program membaca ekstensif teks sastra melalui peta cerita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui persepsi siswa terhadap pembelajaran membaca teks sastra dalam program membaca ekstensif melalui peta cerita. Partisipan penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII SMP sebanyak 4 siswa yang diambil secara acak untuk diwawancarai. Penelitian ini dilakukan di salah satu SMP di Jawa Barat, Indonesia. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan data wawancara semi terstruktur dan jurnal reflektif siswa. Analisis data menggunakan teori (Braun & Clark 2006). Temuan melaporkan bahwa membaca ekstensif dapat mendorong minat siswa dalam mengingat dan mengembangkan kosakata baru yang tidak dikenal. Selanjutnya, pembelajaran membaca teks sastra dengan peta cerita melibatkan siswa dalam belajar mandiri yang memperluas keterampilan membaca dan mempelajari salah satu teks multimodal, yaitu tata bahasa visual. Terakhir, penelitian menyarankan bahwa program membaca ekstensif melibatkan siswa dalam kegiatan membaca yang dapat membantu siswa dalam memahami teks sastra, cerita pendek dan menganalisis elemen cerita pendek dengan peta cerita.

Abstract

Background. The learning of natural sciences at Islamic elementary schools in Central Ternate has not yet been integrated with the verses of the Koran. There is still a dichotomy between general knowledge and religious knowledge, even though all of this knowledge originates from the Al-Quran. Purpose. This study aims to dig deeper into the integration of verses from the Koran in science learning at Islamic Elementary Schools in Central Ternate City. This study uses a phenomenological approach to the triangulation model. Respondents in this study were 15 people consisting of 3 school principals, 3 class teachers, and 9 grade 4 students of SD Islamiyah in Central Ternate City. Method. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, documentation, and in-depth interviews related to research variables. The research data were analyzed descriptively.   Results. The results showed that based on the results of observations of learning activities in class 4 SD Islamiyah in Ternate City, it had not been found integrating science learning with verses from the Qur'an, meaning that learning only focused on science subject matter, had nothing to do with verses. Al-Qur'an related to science material being taught, but students' character building can be seen clearly when learning activities take place. Conclusion. The same thing was also obtained from the results of interviews with school principals, class teachers, and students that the implementation of learning by integrating verses of the Qur'an had not been carried out because the school was still carrying out learning by referring to the established curriculum, so there was no connection between Al -Qur'an and any subject matter conveyed by the class teacher.

Abstract

Background. The storytelling method has become a popular approach in English language learning due to its ability to increase student interest and participation. However, quantitative research specifically focussing on the effectiveness of this method in the development of reading skills is limited. Purpose. This study aims to investigate students' perceptions of the effectiveness of the storytelling method in English language learning, with a focus on the development of reading skills. Method. This study uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to students who are learning English. The questionnaire measured students' perceptions of the effectiveness of the storytelling method in improving their reading skills. Results. The results showed that most students (83.3%) believed that the storytelling method was effective or very effective in improving their interest and understanding of reading skills. However, a small proportion of students (16.7%) had a neutral view on the effectiveness of this method. Conclusion. The findings of this study indicate that the storytelling method is effective in improving students' reading skills in English language learning. By considering students' perceptions and integrating the storytelling approach into the curriculum, educators can enhance students' learning experiences and support the development of reading skills more effectively.

Abstract

Background. With the rapid development of information technology, the use of online learning platforms in Indonesia is increasing. However, the legal regulations governing the use of these platforms are still limited and often inadequate. This poses a variety of challenges, including data security, copyright, and access equality issues. Purpose. This study aims to identify the challenges faced in the regulation of the use of online learning platforms in Indonesia and to formulate solutions that can be implemented to overcome these challenges. Method. This research uses a qualitative approach with literature study methods and in-depth interviews. The literature study was conducted to collect secondary data from various literature related to legal regulations and online learning platforms. In-depth interviews were conducted with experts in the fields of law, information technology, and education to gain deeper insights. Results. The results of the study show that the main challenges in regulating the use of online learning platforms in Indonesia include the lack of data security standards, weak copyright protection, and limited access for students in remote areas. In addition, the lack of coordination between relevant government agencies is also an obstacle to the effective implementation of regulations. Conclusion. This study concludes that to overcome the challenges in regulating the use of online learning platforms in Indonesia, comprehensive regulatory updates and better coordination between government agencies are needed. In addition, there is a need to increase awareness about the importance of data security and copyright among users and providers of online learning platforms. The implementation of these solutions is expected to increase effectiveness and fairness in the use of online learning platforms in Indonesia.

Abstract

Background. Early childhood from 3-5 years old is classified as a digital native generation. This is triggered by the dependence of individuals on technology. The ease of access in the form of videos and other entertainment will trigger children to do activities. This aspect will help in providing stimulation for children while parents are busy with work. The use of educational games is one form of the role of technology use on the motor and cognitive development of children. Purpose This study aims to investigate how influential the use of educational games is. Looking for shortcomings and advantages in the use of educational games to be evaluated. Educational games that present interesting animations and images will captivate children when they see them. This will make children enthusiastic and easy to remember things. Method. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. This method is a way of research that uses numbers. The data collected comes from a questionnaire distributed to teachers at an early age level. The statements presented are loaded on Google from to facilitate access from teachers without taking time. The statements presented are related to evaluating the effect of using educational games on early childhood achievement. The collected data will later be transferred to Excel. After that the data will be inputted into spss to do the oneway anova test. Results. The result of this research is the use of technology in the form of educational games will help optimize the development and growth of early childhood. However, not all educational games are able to accommodate balanced and comprehensive development. It takes the role of parents and teachers to control the use of technology in early childhood so as not to get addicted.   Conclusion This research can be concluded that the use of technology in the form of content, educational games and other things in proportion will help improve the learning achievement of children. Proper use according to portions will help without replacing the role of parents and teachers.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe average vegetable consumption of the Indonesian population is 70 grams/person/day. When compared with the recommended adequacy according to balanced nutrition guidelines, the level of vegetable consumption is still relatively low. As many as 97.1% of the population does not consume enough vegetables. Teenagers are the highest age group who consume less vegetables. The aim of this service activity is to implement the Expeditionary Learning model of teacher and student learning in microgreen cultivation as an effort to increase the interest of natural school students/teenagers in consuming vegetables independently. Abdimas is carried out at the Inaratul Islam natural school located in Kec. Purwasari, Kab. Karawang, West Java in May-October 2024. The service method is carried out using training, demonstration and mentoring methods for natural school teachers and students. The results achieved by Microgreen Cultivation in Expeditionary Learning in students were able to increase 80% of the knowledge, attitudes and skills of the participants. This PKM activity is also able to stimulate students to be more active, independent, and care about the environment and body health.Keywords: Microgreens, Expeditionary Learning, Nature School ABSTRAKRata-rata konsumsi sayur penduduk Indonesia yaitu 70 gram/orang/hari. Bila dibandingkan dengan kecukupan yang dianjurkan menurut pedoman gizi seimbang, tingkat konsumsi sayur tersebut masih tergolong rendah. Sebanyak 97,1 % penduduk kurang mengonsumsi sayur. Kaum remaja adalah kelompok umur tertinggi yang kurang mengonsumsi sayur. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah mengimplemantasikan model Expeditionary Learning pembelajaran guru dan siswa dalam budidaya microgreen sebagai upaya peningkatan minat siswa/remaja sekolah alam dalam mengkonsumsi sayur secara mandiri. Abdimas dilaksanakan di sekolah alam Inaratul Islam yang terletak di Kec. Purwasari, Kab. Karawang, Jawa Barat pada bulan Mei-Oktober 2024. Metode pengabdian dilakukan menggunakan metode pelatihan, demontrasi, dan pendampingan terhadap guru dan siswa sekolah alam. Hasil yang dicapai Budidaya Microgreen dalam Expeditionary Learning pada siswa mampu meningkatkan 80% pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan pesertanya. Kegiatan PKM ini juga mampu merangsang siswa untuk lebih aktif, mandiri, dan peduli terhadap lingkungan dan Kesehatan tubuh.Kata Kunci: Microgreen, Expeditionary Learning, Sekolah Alam

Abstract

In writing class for EFL students, there are numerous factors to consider. These factors include students' learning styles, the role of the teacher, and the teaching methods used. There have been various researches that advocate genre-based approach and perceived  it as effective to help EFL students improve their writing skills. However, the role of Joint Construction in this context is not specifically documented. While there are many possible reasons for this, one of them is that the role of collaboration and interaction in text production remains unexplored. As a concern to that, this research aimed to explore how joint construction of Genre based approace assists student in writing descriptive text. This research used case study research in the ten-grade of a vocational high school. To collect the data, the researcher conducted observations, reflective journals, and interviews which were analysed by thematic analysis. The finding revealed  Joint construction engages students in enthusiastic learning experiences that help to overcome social isolation. The interaction that occured also has an impact on their ability to understand the text content. Collaborative learning emerged as a factor made students pleased with the learning process. Most of the students voiced that by holding discussion, they had the opportunity to explore ideas and knowledge. The positive responses shown by the students implied the joint construction positively contributes to building a more effective and diverse writing learning process for EFL vocational students.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of Wordwall.net in vocabulary learning for junior high school students. Vocabulary is fundamental in language acquisition, but traditional methods often fail to engage students, leading to poor outcomes. This research employs a qualitative case study approach to examine how Wordwall.net enhances vocabulary learning by making the process more interactive and enjoyable. Conducted in a junior high school in Karawang, the study involved four grade VIII students and used interviews, observations, and document analysis as data collection methods. The findings reveal that Wordwall.net significantly improves student engagement and vocabulary retention. Teachers played a crucial role in selecting appropriate activities, preparing lessons, and addressing challenges post-learning. Students responded positively to the platform, citing increased interaction, ease of use, and a more enjoyable learning experience. Despite its advantages, challenges remain, including the need for appropriate selection criteria and effective post-learning reinforcement. The study concludes that Wordwall.net is an effective tool in enhancing vocabulary learning, fostering a more dynamic and interactive classroom environment. Additionally, it highlights the importance of ongoing teacher support and training to maximize the platform's potential and address any limitations that may arise during its use, particularly in different educational contexts.

Abstract

Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) merupakan salah satu sektor pendidikan di Indonesia yang memberikan dampak lebih dalam memberi stimulus tenaga kerja dan siap dan terampil untuk berkontribusi secara langsung secara profesional dalam perkembangan industri dunia. Penelitian ini mengetahui dan menguji apakah ada pengaruh signifikan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris dengan menggunakan pendekatan ESP pada kurikulum sekolah pusat keunggulan. Bahasa Inggris dengan Pendekatan English For Spesifik Purpose (ESP) Pada Kurikulum SMK Pusat Keunggulan yang dilaksanakan oleh SMK Teknologi menunjukkan nilai yang signifikan berdasarkan hasil rerata uji statistic deskriptif dengan hasil postest kelas control 77.30 dan kelas Eksperimen sebesar 79.71 dengan hasil tersebut bisa disimpulkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara kelas control dengan kelas eksperimen. Dan hasil uji hipotesis regresi juga menunjukkan hasil yang signifikan dengan melihat dasar acuan nilai signifikansi (sig.) sebesar 0.16 < 0.05 maka dari hasil tersebut disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh signifikan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris dengan Pendekatan English For Specific Purpose (ESP) Pada Kurikulum SMK Pusat Keunggulan.

Abstract

Pada kegiatan PPG prajabatan yang dilaksanakan oleh Program Studi Pendidikan Profesi Guru (PPG) FKIP Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang di tahun 2024, ada guru matematika SMP di Karawang yang masih belum bisa membuat video pembelajaran. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini yaitu memberikan pengetahuan tentang video pembelajaran serta pelatihan pembuatan video pembelajaran melalui aplikasi plotagon dan canva d-id bagi guru matematika SMP di Karawang. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ini yaitu secara offline di aula FKIP Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang dengan dihadiri oleh 31 guru matematika SMP di Karawang. Waktu pelaksanaan kegiatan yaitu satu hari dari pukul 08.00 hingga pukul 15.00. Bentuk kegiatannya yaitu penyampaian materi tentang video pembelajaran sebagai salah satu media pembelajaran, penyampaian materi tentang fitur-fitur plotagon dan canva mix d.id sebagai salah satu aplikasi untuk membuat video pembelajaran, materi tentang langkah-langkah pembuatan video pembelajaran melalui aplikasi plotagon dan canva mix d-id, kemudian dilanjut dengan praktik pembuatan video pembelajaran. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu peningkatan pengetahuan serta keterampilan guru matematika SMP di Karawang tentang video pembelajaran dan cara pembuatan video pembelajaran.
