Abstract

Community service is one form of implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, which aims to integrate education, research, and community engagement into a unified and applicable activity. This program was conducted at the Sengkol Solar Power Plant (PLTS) in Pujut District, Central Lombok Regency, involving university students as the primary participants. The objective of the activity was to enhance students’ understanding of solar energy concepts and their practical implementation through an experiential learning approach. The methods employed included preparation, field observation, interviews, interactive educational sessions, and evaluation. The results indicated an improvement in students’ understanding of the working principles of solar power plants, particularly regarding the energy conversion process through the photovoltaic effect and the functions of key components such as solar panels and inverters. Furthermore, the activity increased students’ awareness of the importance of renewable energy in supporting environmental sustainability. This program demonstrated that contextual learning through direct field observation is effective in improving students’ energy literacy. Therefore, this activity model is recommended as an innovative approach to learning in the field of renewable energy.

Abstract

Kegiatan Kegiatan pengabdian yang dilaksanakan dalam rangka Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru FKIP Universitas Mataram diarahkan untuk memperkuat pemahaman mahasiswa baru Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika mengenai identitas program studi, kehidupan kampus, etika akademik, serta kontribusi organisasi kemahasiswaan dalam mendukung pencapaian SDGs 4 tentang pendidikan berkualitas. Pelaksanaan kegiatan melibatkan 19 dosen Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika dan 75 mahasiswa baru yang terdiri atas 19 mahasiswa laki-laki dan 56 mahasiswa perempuan. Sosialisasi edukatif diterapkan melalui berbagai aktivitas, meliputi ceramah interaktif, diskusi, tanya jawab, pengenalan dosen, penguatan etika kampus, pengenalan Sistem Informasi Akademik, pengenalan budaya kehidupan perguruan tinggi, serta sosialisasi HMPS Pendidikan Fisika. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, dan respons peserta selama kegiatan berlangsung, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif. Pelaksanaan kegiatan memberikan peningkatan pemahaman mahasiswa baru terkait visi dan misi program studi, sistem akademik, budaya kampus, peran dosen, etika akademik, serta fungsi organisasi mahasiswa sebagai sarana pengembangan diri. Selain itu, mahasiswa juga mulai memahami perbedaan budaya belajar antara sekolah dan perguruan tinggi, terutama pada aspek kemandirian, komunikasi akademik, tanggung jawab, dan integritas. Temuan tersebut memperlihatkan bahwa kegiatan penerimaan mahasiswa baru tidak hanya bersifat seremonial, melainkan menjadi tahapan awal dalam pembentukan identitas akademik dan sosial mahasiswa. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kesiapan mahasiswa baru Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika untuk beradaptasi dengan kehidupan kampus secara lebih etis, adaptif, dan berorientasi pada pendidikan berkualitas.

Abstract

This article aims to examine the concept of environmental ethics in ecotourism-based science learning. In conventional education, the educational process only focuses on knowledge (cognitive) while the attitude aspect only gets a very small portion. Environmental ethics in ecotourism-based science learning is expected to integrate various science concepts and contextual science learning objectives with the ecotourism concept, so that the formation of environmental care characters in students and the implementation of ESD can be realized optimally. This research uses literature study method. The data used in this study were sourced from scientific articles (national and international, science textbooks (SD, SMP and SMK), reference books, and literature reviews related to the concepts studied. Based on the above reviews, it can be concluded that the concept of environmental ethics that mostly presented in science learning materials at all levels of primary and secondary education dominated by anthropocentrism theory, while the concept of ecotourism is mostly presented at the vocational level with the Tourism Expertise Program.

Abstract

The science process skills and creative thinking skills of Indonesian students are still low, thus requiring innovation in the learning process. This research aims to analyze the impact of using local wisdom-based Augmented Reality Student Worksheets (LKPD) to improve students' science process skills and creative thinking skills. The research method chosen in this study is Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The data collection technique in this research is by identifying, reviewing, evaluating, and interpreting articles relevant to the publication period between 2019 and 2024 available in the Google Scholar database with relevant keywords. A total of 13 articles were found and have been evaluated based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of this study indicate that the use of local wisdom-based augmented reality LKPD that has been developed can improve students' science process skills and creative thinking skills. Abstract

This study aims to develop Augmented Reality (AR)–based learning media integrated into Kaffah Learning and to determine its feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness in enhancing meaningful learning and conceptual understanding among prospective teacher students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, consisting of the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Expert validation was conducted to assess the media's feasibility, while practicality was measured through implementation observations and student response questionnaires. Effectiveness was evaluated using pretest–posttest results analyzed with N-Gain. The validation results show that the developed media meets the feasibility criteria with an average score of 89.75% (very feasible category). The practicality test obtained an average score of 88.33%, indicating that the media is highly practical and easy to use during the learning process. The effectiveness test produced an N-Gain value of 0.76 (high category), demonstrating a significant improvement in students’ conceptual understanding. The AR-based media also contributed to strengthening meaningful learning, particularly in indicators of personal relevance, clarity, and conceptual meaning. In conclusion, the AR-based Kaffah Learning media is declared feasible, practical, and effective for supporting physics learning for prospective teachers. The media successfully integrates scientific concepts, interactive visualization, and Islamic values, offering a meaningful and holistic learning experience aligned with 21st-century educational demands.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of integrating a mobile pocket book into the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model to enhance students' physics problem-solving skills. A quasi-experimental research with a non-equivalent control group design was conducted involving 11th-grade science students selected through cluster random sampling as experimental and control groups. Data were collected using a validated and reliable essay test measuring problem-solving skills and analyzed using N-gain and independent sample t-tests. Statistical results revealed that tcount > ttable (5.832 > 2.003), indicating a significant difference in effectiveness between the two groups. The N-gain score for the experimental class reached 60.3% (medium category), significantly higher than the control class at 33.8% (medium category). The 'understanding' indicator achieved the highest increase in both classes, while 'applying' reached a medium category in the experimental group and a low category in the control group. Conversely, 'selecting' and 'identifying' indicators showed relatively low increases across both groups. Integrating a mobile pocket book into PBL effectively optimizes students' physics problem-solving skills, particularly in understanding and applying concepts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis muatan literasi lingkungan dalam buku ajar IPA Terapan SMK Pariwisata kurikulum 2013. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan teknik analisis isi. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi isi dokumen. Adapun teknik analisis data penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan teori Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan muatan literasi lingkungan pada buku ajar IPA Terapan SMK Pariwisata belum termuat dengan baik. Buku A dan Buku C memuat semua komponen dan sub komponen literasi lingkungan, setiap sub komponen tidak dijabarkan secara spesifik dan mendalam. Adapun Buku B hanya memuat komponen keterampilan kognitif. Materi ajar pada ketiga buku ajar didominasi oleh materi fisika dan kimia, sedangkan materi biologi, khususnya tentang lingkungan mendapatkan sedikit porsi pembahasan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi penilaian digital menggunakan Computer Based Test (CBT) di SMP NW Jerua. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan metode wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi dengan memanfaatkan sumber data primer dan sekunder. Teknik Analisa data menggunakan model interaktif dan memeriksa keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber dan metode. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Tahap perencanaan telah terlaksana dengan baik. Namun, diperlukan pelatihan yang terus berlanjut bagi para guru, khususnya terkait dengan penilaian berbasis digital. 2) Tahap pelaksanaan telah berjalan dengan baik. Meskipun demikian, perlu dilaksanakan simulasi pra-implementasi CBT dan peningkatan pengawasan terhadap siswa agar proses penilaian dapat berlangsung dengan optimal, dan 3) Tahap Evaluasi telah dilakukan sesuai dengan rencana yang telah ditetapkan. Namun, terdapat kebutuhan untuk melakukan perbaikan lebih lanjut pada sarana dan prasarana agar proses implementasi CBT dapat berjalan dengan lebih baik. Hasil tersebut dapat menunjukkan gambaran manajemen yang meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi implementasi penilaian berbasis digital menggunakan Computer Based Test (CBT) di SMP NW Jerua.

Abstract

Gamification is a relatively new concept in education that is often discussed in current research. This research aims to understand elementary science teachers' perspectives on gamification as a learning medium in their science classrooms. This research is survey research. There are 18 open questions in the questionnaire, which was distributed via Google Forms and voluntarily completed by 70 science teachers from elementary schools in Mataram, Indonesia. The teacher respondents in this research have 1 to 40 years of experience teaching science. The results show that almost 70% of teacher respondents are unfamiliar with and have never used gamification in their science classes. Even among those already familiar with gamification, very few understand its elements and how to apply them effectively. These results showed that gamification is a relatively new concept for the teacher respondents in this survey. It also illustrates that introducing gamification to them is appropriate.

Abstract

This article investigates the pedagogical potential of the Adventure of Rinjani. These gamified contextualized science learning media are intentionally created to support the development of students' science literacy, creativity, achievement motivation, and scientific attitude. In response to the growing demand for meaningful and engaging science education, this article presents a framework developed through a comprehensive literature review and an instructional design process guided by the Dick and Carey model, which informs the game's creation. The Adventure of Rinjani game incorporates a contextual learning model, utilizing the REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring) approach within its gameplay. The game features seven levels, each representing a distinct real ecosystem on Mount Rinjani. Before further testing and focusing on empirical implementation, this article emphasizes the design rationale, development process, and theoretical mapping of the game elements adopted in Adventure of Rinjani to the four targeted educational outcome variables. A narrative literature review is conducted to identify how gamification and contextualized learning influence each variable. The article concludes with a conceptual mind map that visually depicts the relationship between specific features of the Adventure of Rinjani and the four expected learning outcomes. This framework can serve as a foundation for future empirical research and as a reference for educators and developers who adopt or adapt contextualized learning media integrated with gamification for 21st-century science education.
