Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of causal learning model integrated with character values on the ability to master physics concepts and positive attitudes of high school students. The background of the research is based on the low concept ability and positive attitude of students caused by the dominance of conventional learning methods and the lack of integration of character values in the learning process. This study used a quasi-experimental approach with a nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects were 11th grade students of SMA Negeri 4 Mataram in the 2024/2025 school year. The experimental class received treatment using an integrated causal model of character values, while the control class used direct learning. The research instrument consisted of a concept mastery description test and a positive attitude questionnaire for students. Data analysis was carried out by testing validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity, and Mann-Whitney test. The results showed that the application of the integrated causalytic model of character values significantly improved the ability to master physics concepts and positive attitudes of students compared to conventional learning. This model is effective in encouraging students to think causally and analytically, as well as internalizing character values such as responsibility, cooperation, and honesty. Thus, the causal learning model integrated with character values can be an innovative alternative in improving the quality of physics learning and shaping positive student character.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning models on students' critical thinking skills in thermodynamics material. The type of research used is experimental research with a nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study was students of class XII MA Manba'ul Ulum in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. The research sample was taken using the cluster random sampling technique, so that 31 students of class XI MIA 1 were selected as the control class and 31 students of class XI MIA 2 as the experimental class. The experimental class was given treatment in the form of learning using the guided inquiry model, while the control class used the conventional model. Critical thinking ability data were obtained through the provision of a descriptive test of 10 questions and through a questionnaire given to students. The average value of critical thinking ability obtained during the pre-test of the two classes was the experimental class of 37.15 and the control class of 41.64. The average value after the implementation of the post-test increased in both classes, where the experimental class was 79.93 and the control class was 72.84. The critical thinking ability data of both classes were homogeneous and normally distributed. The critical thinking ability data were analyzed using the Independent Simple t test. The results of the SPSS data analysis obtained a t-count value of 3.199 with a significance level of 0.05% so that the t-table was 2.000, and the significant value obtained was 0.002, so the t-count> t-table or the significance value <significance level, then. Thus, it is concluded that there is an influence of the application of the guided inquiry learning model on students' critical thinking abilities in thermodynamics material.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze research trends on multi-representational learning models in science education during the period 2016-2025 through a systematic review approach. Data were collected from the Dimensions.ai and Google Scholar databases, then analyzed using PoP and VOSviewer software to reveal publication patterns, types of publications, and collaboration networks between researchers. The results show a significant increase in the number of publications, dominated by journal articles, followed by conference proceedings and research reports. Bibliometric analysis reveals increasingly close collaboration networks, especially in Asia and Europe, which strengthen the development of multi-representational learning theories and practices. The main research topics include the effectiveness of models in improving understanding of science concepts, technology integration, and the development of multi-representational-based learning media. These findings emphasize the important role of multi-representational learning models in improving the quality of science learning through various forms of visual, verbal, and symbolic representations. This study provides a strong foundation for the development of innovative and adaptive learning practices and recommends further research in various contexts and levels of education.

Abstract

Inquiry-based learning (IBL) has become a widely recognized pedagogical approach that enhances student engagement through critical thinking, problem-solving, and hands-on exploration. This study conducted a bibliometric analysis and systematic literature review (SLR) of IBL research, using data from the Scopus database, covering articles published from 2001 to 2025. The analysis identified a significant increase in IBL publications starting in 2008, with a peak in 2020, reflecting growing global interest. The findings revealed that the United States and Indonesia were the top contributors, with substantial participation from countries like the United Kingdom, Germany, and China. Key institutions and authors played an important role in advancing IBL research, and interdisciplinary applications of IBL were observed beyond the social sciences. The study concluded by recommending further research to address the challenges in IBL implementation, enhance teacher training, and promote global collaboration, thus ensuring its continued development and impact in educational systems worldwide.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the project-based learning (PjBL) model on science process skills and students' creative thinking abilities in fluid materials through a literature study approach and bibliometric analysis. Data were collected using the Publish or Perish application with the keywords "project based learning", "science process skills", "creative thinking skills", and "fluids". The search results produced a number of articles which were then screened based on relevance and eligibility criteria. The inclusion criteria consisted of: (1) articles published in peer-reviewed journals, (2) studies focusing on the implementation of the PjBL model in science or physics learning, (3) research discussing science process skills and/or creative thinking skills, and (4) publications available in the last ten years and written in English. Based on these criteria, 20 main articles were selected for further analysis. Bibliometric analysis was conducted using the VOSviewer application to map research trends, relationships between topics, and the development of publications related to PjBL in physics learning. The results show that the PjBL model is consistently reported to improve students' science process skills and creative thinking skills, particularly in fluid materials. This model encourages active student engagement through project activities, contextual problem-solving, and collaboration, thereby positively influencing conceptual understanding and the development of 21st-century skills. The novelty of this study lies in the integration of a systematic literature review with bibliometric analysis to comprehensively map the research landscape of PjBL related to science process skills and creative thinking in fluid learning. This approach not only synthesizes empirical findings but also identifies research trends and thematic relationships, providing a clearer direction for future studies in physics education.

Abstract

Science Process Skills (SPS) is an essential foundation in physics learning that requires the identification of students' initial profiles to ensure the development of appropriate teaching materials. However, this identification is often overlooked. Furthermore, the integration of the local environmental context and the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach has the potential to be a relevant framework for improving scientific skills and environmental awareness. This study aims to identify students' SPS profiles as an empirical basis for developing an ecotourism-STEM-based physics e-module. The method used is a quantitative descriptive study with a survey technique. The research subjects consisted of 176 10th-grade students from SMAN 2 Mataram City and 38 students from SMAN 10 Mataram City who were selected purposively based on access to local ecotourism potential. The SPS test instrument was developed based on six main indicators, namely observation, classification, interpretation, prediction, experimental planning, and communication. Data were analyzed descriptively to map students' SPS profiles. The identification results show that students' SPS profiles are in the medium to low category with significant variability. The average SPS score at SMAN 2 Mataram City reached 38.52 (medium category) with a range of 3–68, while at SMAN 10 Mataram City the average score was 25.00 (low category) with a range of 3–75. The dimensions of experimental planning and data interpretation were the aspects with the lowest achievements, indicating that physics learning is still verification and procedural. This study concludes that identifying the SPS profile is a crucial stage in developing teaching materials that are adaptive to student needs. These findings form the basis for the development of an ecotourism-STEM integrated physics e-module designed to develop science process skills in a targeted manner while instilling environmental awareness through a contextual local context.
