Abstract

Background: Childhood obesity is a global health problem that affects physical and mental development. Various policies have been implemented to reduce obesity rates, but their effectiveness varies across countries. To review childhood obesity prevention policies that have been implemented in various countries and identify policies that can be adapted for Indonesia. Method: This study used a systematic review method of various policy briefs that discuss the prevention of childhood obesity in the last 10 years. A search was conducted in the ubMed database, Google Scholar and DOAJ using the keywords (Obesity AND Prevention AND child OR children AND "policy brief"). The literature search process was outlined in PRISMA Flowchat, based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 14 appropriate articles were obtained. Results: Some effective policies include regulation of unhealthy food marketing, taxes on sweetened beverages, school-based nutrition education, and involvement of pediatricians in early detection of obesity. Conclusion: Indonesia can adopt evidence-based policies that take into account local conditions, including improving nutrition literacy in schools and strict regulation of marketing unhealthy foods to children.

Abstract

Fit physical condition is needed in every sport, especially in soccer which is known to be one of the dynamic sports with dominant movements using anaerobic energy, and also aerobic energy to be able to last throughout the game for a long duration. Every player is required to have excellent physical fitness which is certainly supported by maximum aerobic capacity. For an athlete, aerobic capacity is mandatory to be increased as much as possible, especially in adolescence, because at this time it can contribute to an increase in aerobic capacity of up to 30-35% compared to adults and the elderly, The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of the physical fitness level of athlete students through VO2Max parameters and Forced Vital Capacity / FVC lung in football athlete students at Sriwijaya State Sports School (SONS) Sumatra South. This type of research is a descriptive analysis and data collection is carried out by laboratory using a treadmill device with the Bruce method which is the gold standard in cardiopulmonary fitness assessment and a spirometry tool to measure the forced vital capacity of the lungs. The subjects in this study amounted to 33 male students from the sport of football. The results of the data analysis showed that the majority of SONS football athlete students had a fitness level with less category (96.9%) and very less category (3.1%), the predicted value of Forced Lung Vital Capacity with normal category was 66.7% and the remaining 33.3% in the category below normal. The average count (mean) of pulmonary FVC value is = 2.86 liters, with a maximum value of 3.82 liters and a minimum value of 1.46 liters. It can be concluded that the level of physical fitness in SONS soccer players is still low, for that it is necessary to increase the maximum aerobic capacity and lung capacity of athlete students as much as possible through an intense and systematic training program.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a basic motion learning model jumping numbers based on traditional games in elementary schools. The method in this study is a method of development with procedures in research, namely: (1) Requirement analysis, (2) Initial model, (3) Validation of the initial model, (4) Description of expert validation data, (5) Revision of the initial model draft, ( 6) Small group outcome data, (7) Revision of the model after the small group trial, (8) Large group outcome data, (9) Model revision after the large group trial. This research was conducted at SDN 02 Sungai Pinang. In this study, the results of questionnaire questionnaire validation obtained from expert validators namely the physical education teacher on the draft product model of jump-based learning numbers on average game 3.8 so that it is included in the valid category. The results of student motivation questionnaire analysis obtained a percentage of 86.4% while the t-test results obtained were 12,387 with ttable = 3.24 then tcount = 12.387> ttable 3.24 as well as the results of the validation of psychomotoric results of students in both 64% categories, and 32% categories very good, obtained tcount of 15.601 with ttable 2.667 which is stated tcount> ttable. So it can be concluded that the new learning model or game-based Jump learning model given to students is valid, practical, and effective to make students motivated to learn jump-based games and actively move in learning and can already be used in the game-based jump learning process in Primary Schools ( SD).

Abstract

Background: Stunting represents a global public health challenge affecting neurological development in children, particularly language abilities during the critical period of 6-36 months. Chronic malnutrition underlying stunting is suspected to disrupt brain structure and function essential for language acquisition. Objectives: This systematic review aimed to synthesize empirical evidence regarding the association between stunting and language developmental delays in children aged 6-36 months and to explore the underlying neurological mechanisms. Methods: A systematic literature search was conducted across four electronic databases (PubMed, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, and ERIC) until November 2024 following PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Of 588 records identified, 12 studies met inclusion criteria for analysis. Quality assessment used the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale (NOS). Results: Eleven of twelve studies (91.7%) reported significant associations between stunting and increased risk of language delay (OR: 2.45-4.12). Neurological mechanisms included impaired myelination, synaptogenesis, and reduced brain volume particularly in white matter and corpus callosum affecting language area connectivity. Conclusion: Stunting represents a significant risk factor for language developmental delay through structural and functional brain impairments, emphasizing the importance of nutritional intervention and early stimulation during the critical first 1000 days of life. Keywords: Stunting, Language Development, Speech Delay, Chronic Malnutrition, Neurological Mechanisms.
