Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the paradigm of disseminating moderate character values to students by Islamic Religious Education teachers at Sentani 1 Public Junior High School. This qualitative study is a case study. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. This study is supported by the theory of interfaith collaboration, the theory of value internalisation, and a preventive approach in religious education. The results of the study indicate that there is an integration paradigm in the dissemination of moderate religious values by Islamic Education teachers at the school, namely through interrelated strategies in strengthening moderate values in the curriculum, using a local culture-based approach, and cultivating tolerant attitudes in daily interactions. These strategies create an inclusive and harmonious learning environment and foster tolerant attitudes among students. This study contributes to the importance of holistic strategies in the internalization of moderate religious diversity among students, emphasizing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects.

Abstract

Intolerance, radicalism, and terrorism in the name of Islam remain national security problems in Indonesia. This emphasizes the synergy of perfective efforts between the government and Muslims through Islamic educational and social activities. Through a normative-philosophical approach, this qualitative study in the form of a literature review intends to identify and explore the content of Sufism values in the orientation of the MajelisTaklim as stated in Article 4 of the Minister of Religious Affairs Regulation no. 29 of 2019. Data collection through documentation and data analysis using the reduction, presentation, and verification stages. The results of this study concluded that there is a content of Sufism values in the educational orientation of the MajelisTaklim in Indonesia, including the value of mahabbah in the orientation of forming the character of the humanist personality of Muslims, the value of futuwwah in the orientation of forming the personality of pluralist Muslims, the value of itsar in the orientation of forming the personality of nationalist Muslims. The theoretical implications of this study show that the values of socio-sufistic teachings can be integrated with government political policies related to the orientation of non-formal Islamic education in Indonesia, as well as Islamic education activities through the MajelisTaklim.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to describe the role of the school social environment in shaping the Islamic religious character of Class VIII-A students at SMP Negeri 2 Arso, Keerom Regency; identify the inhibiting factors in the formation of students’ Islamic religious character; and describe the impact of the school social environment on students’ Islamic religious character. This research employed a qualitative method with a pedagogical approach. The primary data were obtained from the principal, teachers, and Class VIII-A students, while secondary data were obtained from learning documents, books, journals, school archives, and documentation. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The findings show that the role of the school social environment in shaping students’ Islamic religious character consists of four main indicators: interaction among school members, school social climate, the role of teachers in the school social environment, and school culture and values. The inhibiting factors consist of three indicators: the influence of an unfavorable environment, weak social supervision at school, and an unsupportive family environment. Meanwhile, the impact of the school social environment is reflected in students’ faith and piety, noble character, and Islamic social behavior. Thus, the school social environment plays an important role in shaping the Islamic religious character of Class VIII-A students at SMP Negeri 2 Arso.

Abstract

Pancasila, as the foundation of the state, serves not only as a source of values for the formulation of national law, including Islamic family law in Indonesia. However, systematic studies that integrate the educational values of Pancasila and the maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah as a single epistemological framework for the development of Islamic family law in Indonesia remain limited. This study aims to formulate the integration of Pancasila educational values and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah as an epistemological framework for the reform of Islamic family law in Indonesia. The study employs a juridical-normative approach with philosophical and conceptual analysis through a literature review. The results indicate that Pancasila provides ethical, national, and contextual orientations. Meanwhile, maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah offers a teleological basis oriented toward maṣlaḥah, protection, justice, and humanity. The integration of these two can be seen through the correspondence between the value of belief in God and ḥifẓ al-dīn; the value of humanity and the protection of life, reason, and lineage; the value of unity and family cohesion; the value of deliberation and the principle of shūrā; and the value of social justice and the protection and proportional distribution of rights. These findings contribute to offering an integrative epistemological paradigm that combines the educational values of Pancasila and the maqasid al-sharia within a framework for the development and renewal of Islamic family law in Indonesia
