Abstract

In the Minggir Village, there is a Biogas School called Mitra Sarana Energi which is a biogas school UKM located in Minggir Village, Sendangagung Village, Minggir District, Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. The biogas school UKM has been conducting training activities on the manufacture and use of the biogas since 2012. Actually, the UKM has a large enough market opportunity to manage and sell the biogas. However, this opportunity brings consequences and problems, namely the lack of a touch of innovation from the biodigeser remote monitoring system. The implementation team tried to offer solutions to these problems with a touch of science and technology, namely through designing remote monitoring of gas levels and pressures with IoT technology. This monitoring tool system aims to monitor (monitoring) the process of making biogas production from organic waste by detecting gas levels produced from the biodigester, namely methane gas (CH4), carbon dioxide gas (CO2), hydrogen gas (H2), and gas pressure. The system is designed with an ESP32 controller board and MQ4, MQ8, MQ135 gas sensors and MPX10DP gas pressure sensors combined with the Internet of Things (IoT) feature which is then connected to the Blynk app on the cellphone, so that it can be monitored from anywhere and anywhere with the help of a connection. stable internet. The test results obtained that this tool is capable of measuring and monitoring data on monitoring levels of methane gas, CO2 gas, hydrogen gas and gas pressure.

Abstract

Blockchain technology is relatively young but has the potential to disrupt several industries. Since the emergence of Bitcoin, also known as Blockchain 1.0, there has been significant interest in this technology. The introduction of Ethereum, or Blockchain 2.0, has expanded the types of data that can be stored on blockchain networks. The increasing popularity of blockchain technology has given rise to new challenges, such as user privacy and illicit financial activities, but has also facilitated technical advancements. Blockchain technology utilizes cryptographic hashes of user input to record transactions. The public availability of blockchain data presents a unique opportunity for academics to analyze it and gain a better understanding of the challenges in blockchain communications. Researchers have never had access to such an opportunity before. Therefore, it is crucial to highlight the research problems, accomplishments, and potential trends and challenges in blockchain network data analysis and communications. This article aims to examine and summarize the field of blockchain data analysis and communications. The review encompasses the fundamental data types, analytical techniques, architecture, and operations related to blockchain networks. Seven research challenges are addressed: entity recognition, privacy, risk analysis, network visualization, network structure, market impact, and transaction pattern recognition. The latter half of this section discusses future research directions, opportunities, and challenges based on previous research limitations.

Abstract

This research investigates the precise regulation of liquid filling in tanks, specifically focusing on water storage systems. It employs the Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) control method in conjunction with an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor and an Arduino Uno microcontroller. Given the paramount importance of water as a resource, accurate management of its storage is of utmost significance. The PID control method, known for its rapid responsiveness, minimal overshoot, and robust stability, effectively facilitates this task. Integrating the ultrasonic sensor and microcontroller further augments the precision of water level regulation. The article expounds upon the foundational principles of the PID control method and elucidates its application in the context of liquid tank filling. It offers a comprehensive insight into the hardware configuration, encompassing pivotal components such as the Arduino Uno microcontroller, HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, and the L298 driver responsible for water pump control. The experimental approach is meticulous, presenting results from tests involving the Proportional Controller, Proportional Integral (PI) Controller, and Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) Controller. These tests rigorously analyze the impact of varying Proportional Gain (Kp), Integral Gain (Ki), and Derivative Gain (Kd) parameters on crucial performance metrics such as response time, overshoot, and steady-state error. The findings underscore the critical importance of an optimal parameter configuration, emphasizing the delicate equilibrium between response speed, precision, and error minimization. This research significantly advances PID control implementation in liquid tank filling, offering insights that pave the way for developing more efficient liquid management systems across various sectors. The identified optimal parameter configuration is Kp = 5.0, Ki = 0.3, and Kd = 0.2.

Abstract

This research enhances Smart Home Systems by integrating an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) for seamless power source switching between the grid and a backup battery, ensuring uninterrupted operation during power disruptions. An Automatic Battery Charging (ABC) system optimizes battery charging based on its condition, improving energy storage and efficiency. The system provides on-site electrical equipment control and sensor data access via a Human Machine Interface (HMI). Remote monitoring and control through the Blynk app offer convenience. Additionally, an energy consumption estimation feature allows users to estimate billing costs, with the Battery State of Charge (SoC) indicating the remaining battery capacity. Hardware testing showed the system's reliability with a 2-4 second ATS response and ±2-second ABC response. This research offers homeowners reliable power continuity and energy optimization. It contributes to IoT-based smart home systems, demonstrating ATS and ABC effectiveness, advancing both theory and practice for modern smart living.

Abstract

This paper addresses the challenge of synchronizing the dynamics of two distinct 3D chaotic systems, specifically the Rabinovich and Rabinovich-Fabrikant systems, employing a finite-time synchronization approach. These chaotic systems exhibit diverse characteristics and evolving chaotic attractors, influenced by specific parameters and initial conditions. Our proposed low-cost finite-time synchronization method leverages the signum function's tracking properties to facilitate controlled coupling within a finite time frame. The design of finite-time control laws is rooted in Lyapunov stability criteria and lemmas. Numerical experiments conducted within the MATLAB simulation environment demonstrate the successful asymptotic synchronization of the master and slave systems within finite time. To assess the global robustness of our control scheme, we applied it across various system parameters and initial conditions. Remarkably, our results reveal consistent synchronization times and dynamics across these different scenarios. In summary, this study presents a finite-time synchronization solution for non-identical 3D chaotic systems, showcasing the potential for robust and reliable synchronization under varying conditions.

Abstract

Partial shading, from obstacles such as buildings or trees, is a major challenge for photovoltaic systems, causing unpredictable fluctuations in solar energy production and underlining the need for advanced energy management strategies. In this paper, we propose an innovative approach that combines hybrid metaheuristic optimization with maximum power point tracking control (MPPT), using particle swarm optimization (PSO) in conjunction with the incremental conductance (IC) algorithm. We compare the proposed method with the conventional Perturb and Observation (PO) algorithm. The choice of PO as a comparison method is due to its simplicity, its familiarity with the scientific literature, its low cost of implementation. The main objective of swarm optimization combined with the IC algorithm lies in its ability to overcome the challenges posed by partial shading, ensuring accurate and efficient tracking of the point of maximum power, thanks to dynamic adaptation to variations in solar irradiation, thus enhancing the performance and resilience of the photovoltaic system. This approach  is of crucial importance, offering considerable potential for solving the complex challenges associated with partial shading. Our results show that this hybrid MPPT algorithm offers superior tracking efficiency 98% , faster convergence 500ms , better stability and increased robustness compared to traditional MPPT approaches. The system is composed of a PV and a boost converter that connects the input to the resistive load. The algorithms were implemented with MATLAB/Simulink as the simulation tool. These results not only reinforce the viability of sustainable energy solutions, but also open the way for the development of more sustainable energy solutions.The perspectives of this work are oriented towards a practical and extended integration of the proposed hybrid approach in real photovoltaic systems, with a particular emphasis on experimental validation.

Abstract

The issue of proper modeling and control for industrial systems is one of the challenging issues in the industry. In addition, in recent years, PID controller design for linear systems has been widely considered. The topic discussed in some of the articles is mostly speed control in the field of electric machines, where various algorithms have been used to optimize the considered controller, and always one of the most important challenges in this field is designing a controller with a high degree of freedom. In these researches, the focus is more on searching for an algorithm with more optimal results than others in order to estimate the parameters in a more appropriate way. There are many techniques for designing a PID controller. Among these methods, meta-innovative methods have been widely studied. In addition, the effectiveness of these methods in controlling systems has been proven. In this paper, a new method for grid control is discussed. In this method, the PID controller is used to control the power systems, which can be controlled more effectively, so that this controller has four parameters, and to determine these parameters, the optimization method and evolutionary algorithms of genetics (EGA) and PSO are used.  One of the most important advantages of these algorithms is their high speed and accuracy. In this article, these algorithms have been tested on a single-machine system, so that the single-machine system model is presented first, then the PID controller components will be examined. In the following, according to the transformation function matrix and the relative gain matrix, suitable inputs for each of the outputs are determined. At the end, an algorithm for designing PID controller for multivariable MIMO systems is presented. To show the effectiveness of the proposed controller, a simulation was performed in the MATLAB environment and the results of the simulations show the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

Abstract

This paper presents a control system design for a magnetic levitation system (Maglev) or MLS using sliding mode control (SMC). The MLS problem of levitating the object in the air will be solved using the controller. Inductors used in MLS make the system have nonlinear characteristics. Thus, a nonlinear controller is the most suitable control design for MLS. SMC is one of the nonlinear controllers with good robustness and can handle any model mismatch. Based on simulation results with a step as input reference, MLS provided good system performances: 0.0991s rise time, 0.1712s settling time, and 0.0159 overshoot. Moreover, a prominent tracking control for sine wave reference was also shown. Although the augmented system had a chattering effect on the control signal, the chattering control signal did not affect MLS performances.

Abstract

The Direct Current (DC) motor is widely applied in various implementations. The main problem in the DC motor is controlling the angular speed on the specific reference. This research then proposed an integral state feedback design for tracking control in DC motor, with Simulink Matlab simulation and the Arduino hardware implementation. The results will be compared with the implementation of the PID controller. The integral state feedback controller can handle the system to reach the setpoint with good performance in the simulations, even with changing different poles and setpoints. In the hardware implementation, the current sensor (INA219) and encoder sensor are used since all state variables need to be calculated. Based on the result, the controller can reach the setpoint stably with oscillation. Similar results are showed in simulations with different setpoints. Compared with the PID Controller, the integral state feedback controller has a better response with faster rise time and faster settling time.

Abstract

An improved vector control method is presented in this study to enhance synchronous reluctance motor (SynRM) performance. The maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) technique has demonstrated good dynamic properties since the torque control is closely tied to the current control. The selection of the control approach is primarily influenced by how the reference current values will be defined. Additionally, a five-level neutral-point-clamped (NPC) inverter replaces the traditional two-level inverter. Only eight voltage vectors can be produced by a two-level inverter, whereas one hundred twenty-five voltage vectors can be generated by a five-level inverter. The goal is to produce an output voltage vector that closely resembles the reference voltage vector in order to ensure a quick response on the one hand and enhance dynamic performance on the other. An exact comparison of the suggested vector control strategy's properties is made once it has been simulated in MATLAB/Simulink. The acquired findings are satisfactory and high performance is attained in terms of response time, torque ripple reduction, and current waveform improvement.
