Abstract

The results of observations conducted in senior high schools across South Lampung Regency indicate that teachers still require adequate training and support in implementing learning assessments, particularly assessments that promote numeracy skills, scientific literacy, and problem-based learning. This Community Service Program (PkM) involved 30 teachers of Mathematics and Science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics). The implementation methods consisted of in-service training and on-the-job training. During the in-service training phase, participants received materials on Assessment for Learning, Problem-Based Learning, and the enhancement of numeracy and scientific literacy skills. Subsequently, in the on-the-job training phase, participants completed a project involving the development of Assessment for Learning instruments based on Problem-Based Learning. The evaluation results showed an increase in teachers’ knowledge and understanding of these concepts, as indicated by the N-Gain scores: 56.67% of participants achieved a moderate level of improvement, while 43.33% achieved a high level of improvement. In addition, there was an improvement in teachers’ skills in designing assessment instruments, as reflected in the quality of the final products, which included complete components ranging from test blueprints and contextual questions to assessment rubrics. These findings indicate that the implemented training model was effective in enhancing teachers’ competencies in learning assessment based on Assessment for Learning and Problem-Based Learning.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the Education for Sustainable Development-oriented Collaborative Problem Solving model on Critical Thinking Skills and Sustainability awareness at MAN 1 Metro in 2024/2025 on ecosystem material. The population in this study were all class X students at MAN 1 Metro. The research sample was students in class X-1 as the experimental class and X-2 as the control class with the sampling technique being purposive sampling. This research is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. Data collection was obtained through pretest-posttest and sustainability awareness questionnaires. The type of data used is quantitative data in the form of students' critical thinking skills and sustainability awareness. The research results show that the n gain value obtained in the experimental class and control class is in the medium category, but the experimental class has a larger number, namely 0.70. Meanwhile, the results of sustainability awareness in the experimental class showed an average of 84.44 with a high interpretation. This indicates that teachers need to adopt a collaborative and sustainability-oriented learning approach so that science education, especially biology, can be more meaningful, contextual, and relevant to environmental issues both globally and locally. Thus, the results of this study imply the need to develop learning strategies that position students as critical problem solvers who have sustainability awareness to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs) through education. So it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Collaborative Problem Solving model oriented towards Education for Sustainable Development in improving critical thinking skills and Sustainability Awareness students. The implications of the results of this study indicate that the application of Collaborative Problem Solving oriented towards Education for Sustainable Development can be an effective learning strategy to improve critical thinking skills while fostering sustainability awareness in students, so that it is relevant to be applied in 21st century education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the SDGs-oriented problem-based learning (PBL) model in improving students' scientific literacy and environmental awareness. The type of research used is a quasi-experimental. The research subjects were seventh grade SMPN 1 Gisting. consisting of classes VII A (experimental) and VII B (control), which were taken using purposive sampling technique. The experimental class was given treatment using the PBL model, while the control class used the discovery model. Data on scientific literacy skills were obtained from the results of the pretest and posttest and environmental awareness was obtained from the results of the questionnaire. Scientific literacy data were analyzed using the Independent Sample T-test. The results showed the Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.001 <0.05. Environmental awareness also reached the “very good” category with an average score of 90.16%. The average N-gain value of the experimental class's scientific literacy skills (0.53) was higher than the control class (0.23). These findings indicate that the SDGs-oriented PBL model effectively strengthens students' scientific literacy and environmental awareness. The SDGs-oriented PBL model deserves to be prioritized in scientific learning because it has been proven to be more effective in increasing students' scientific literacy and environmental awareness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the levels of the Nature of Science (NOS) and STEM aspects in the Merdeka Curriculum Phase E High School Biology textbooks. This study employs a simple descriptive research design. The data consists of qualitative and quantitative information. Data collection was conducted using documentation techniques. Data analysis utilized descriptive statistical techniques with percentage formulas and was described based on categorical levels. The results indicate that the average level of the NOS aspects in the three textbooks is categorized as 'Adequate', with Book A at 42.2%, Book B at 43.9%, and Book C at 41.9%. Meanwhile, the average level of the STEM aspects in the three textbooks is categorized as 'Poor', with Book A at 32.8%, Book B at 24.8%, and Book C at 30.5%. This study highlights the need to improve the integration of NOS and STEM aspects in the Merdeka Curriculum Phase E Biology textbooks to support the learning process with students. Analisis Aspek NOS (Nature of Science) dan STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) pada Buku Biologi SMA Kurikulum Merdeka Fase E ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat aspek NOS dan STEM pada Buku Ajar Biologi SMA Kurikulum Merdeka Fase E. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif sederhana. Data penelitian ini berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik statistik deskriptif menggunakan rumus persentase dan dideskripsikan berdasarkan tingkat kategori. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata tingkat aspek NOS pada ketiga buku ajar tergolong ‘Cukup Baik’ dengan persentase buku A sebesar 42,2%, buku B sebesar 43,9%, dan buku C sebesar 41,9%. Kemudian rata-rata tingkat aspek STEM pada ketiga buku tergolong ‘Buruk’ dengan buku A sebesar 32,8%, buku B sebesar 24,8%, dan buku C sebesar 30,5%. Dari penelitian ini menunjukkan perlunya peningkatkan muatan aspek NOS dan STEM pada buku ajar Biologi Curriculums Merdeka Fase E untuk mendukung proses pembelajaran dengan peserta didik.

Abstract

Coastal Lampung has a high level of cultural diversity, one example of which is the Bedana dance. This study aims to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of an interactive digital module integrating the local wisdom of the Coastal Lampung Bedana dance in improving students’ biological literacy. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method with Grade XI science students of a senior high school in Gedongtataan as the research subjects. The research data consisted of qualitative and quantitative data obtained through questionnaires, interviews, and tests. The validation results indicated that the interactive digital module was highly feasible for learning, with material feasibility of 93%, language 78%, media 93%, cultural aspects 89%, and practitioner assessment 100%. Limited trials obtained a positive response of 91%. The implementation test showed an N-Gain score of 0.72, categorized as high. The effectiveness test yielded a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.008, indicating a significant effect on students’ biological literacy. Modul Digital Interaktif Berbasis Kearifan Lokal Tari Bedana dalam Meningkatkan Literasi Biologi Peserta Didik ABSTRAK: Lampung Pesisir memiliki keanekaragaman budaya yang tinggi, salah satunya adalah tari Bedana. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan dan efektifitas modul digital interaktif bermuatan kearifan lokal tari Bedana Lampung Pesisir terhadap literasi biologi peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan subjek siswa kelas XI IPA Sekolah Menengah Atas di Gedongtataan. Data penelitian berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif yang diperoleh melalui angket, wawancara, dan tes. Hasil validasi menunjukkan modul digital interaktif sangat layak digunakan dengan persentase kelayakan materi 93%, bahasa 78%, media 93%, budaya 89%, dan praktisi 100%. Uji coba terbatas memperoleh respons 91%. Hasil uji penggunaan menunjukkan nilai N-Gain literasi biologi sebesar 0,72 (kategori tinggi). Uji efektivitas memperoleh nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,008, yang menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap literasi biologi peserta didik.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills and sustainability awareness are essential competencies for addressing global challenges in the 21st century. However, students in Indonesia still demonstrate relatively low levels of both competencies. This study examines the effect of the Concept Attainment Model (CAM) based on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) on the improvement of students’ critical thinking skills and sustainability awareness in ecosystem learning. A quasi-experimental design with a non-equivalent control group was employed, involving two tenth-grade classes at one public high school in East Lampung, Indonesia (experimental group, n = 28; control group, n = 29). Data were collected through pretests, posttests, and sustainability awareness questionnaires. Data were analyzed using normalized gain (N-gain), independent samples t-test, and effect size (Cohen’s d). Results showed that the experimental class achieved higher improvement in critical thinking skills than the control class, with moderate N-gain values (0.47 vs 0.37) and a large effect size (d = 1.12. Sustainability awareness improved more substantially in the experimental group than in the control group, with emotional awareness achieving a high N-gain (0.89 vs 0.52), behavioral and attitude awareness showing moderate improvement (0.61 vs 0.27), and sustainability practice awareness demonstrating lower but still higher gains in the experimental class (0.51 vs 0.31. These results indicate that the integration of CAM with ESD effectively enhances both cognitive and affective domains of learning. The study highlights the potential of this approach for fostering competencies that are critical to sustainable education and suggests its application across various subjects and educational levels.

Abstract

Kurikulum merdeka menekankan pada penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran mendalam sebagai bentuk upaya transformasi pendidikan. Dalam konteks pendidikan tinggi, persepsi mahasiswa calon guru terhadap pembelajaran sangat penting karena dapat mempengaruhi implementasinya di masa depan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap persepsi mahasiswa calon guru terhadap pembelajaran mendalam pada penerapan kurikulum merdeka. Sebanyak 243 mahasiswa program studi pendidikan biologi terlibat pada penelitian survei deskriptif ini. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah angket yang dibagikan melalui google form. Angket mencakup lima aspek yakni, latar belakang dan definisi pembelajaran mendalam, profil lulusan, prinsip pembelajaran, pengalaman belajar, serta implementasi pembelajaran. Data persepsi mahasiswa dikumpulkan dan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi mahasiswa calon guru berada pada tingkatan positif hingga sangat positif. Profil lulusan merupakan aspek dengan skor tertinggi. Sementara aspek pengalaman belajar dan aspek kerangka pembelajaran merupakan aspek dengan skor terendah. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa calon guru secara umum telah memiliki pemahaman konseptual yang baik terkait pembelajaran mendalam, namun masih membutuhkan penguatan dan dukungan pada tataran praktis. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi dasar pengambil kebijakan terkait pratek pedagogis di program pendidikan keguruan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kemampuan computational thinking (CT) dalam pembelajaran biologi pada era Society 5.0, karena kemampuan tersebut menjadi bagian penting dalam pengembangan pola pikir logis, sistematis, dan kreatif siswa. Namun, kemampuan computational thinking siswa dalam pembelajaran biologi masih perlu mendapat perhatian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan computational thinking siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Sukoharjo dalam pembelajaran biologi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMAN 1 Sukoharjo, Pringsewu, Lampung, Indonesia, dengan sampel siswa kelas X4 berjumlah 30 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Data kuantitatif diperoleh melalui tes kemampuan computational thinking, sedangkan data kualitatif diperoleh melalui wawancara guru dan siswa. Analisis data dilakukan dengan mendeskripsikan hasil tes dan wawancara untuk memberikan gambaran kemampuan CT siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan computational thinking siswa masih tergolong sangat rendah, terutama pada aspek pengenalan pola dan abstraksi. Hasil wawancara juga menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran masih didominasi metode ceramah dan diskusi, dengan keterbatasan pembelajaran berbasis proyek serta belum adanya pengukuran CT secara khusus. Implikasi penelitian ini menunjukkan perlunya inovasi pembelajaran, khususnya penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan integrasi computational thinking secara sistematis untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir logis, sistematis, dan kreatif siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih terbatasnya pemahaman mahasiswa mengenai hubungan antara jumlah mikroorganisme dan hasil fermentasi roti pada kegiatan praktikum bioteknologi. Pelaksanaan praktikum selama ini cenderung berorientasi pada penyelesaian prosedur kerja sehingga mahasiswa kurang memahami pengaruh biologis konsentrasi ragi terhadap kualitas hasil fermentasi. Penelitian mengenai fermentasi roti umumnya lebih berfokus pada kualitas produk pangan, sedangkan kajian variasi konsentrasi ragi dalam konteks praktikum bioteknologi mahasiswa Pendidikan Biologi masih relatif terbatas. Kebaruan penelitian ini terletak pada penerapan variasi konsentrasi ragi Saccharomyces cerevisiae dalam praktikum bioteknologi sebagai upaya mendukung pemahaman konsep fermentasi secara kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi konsentrasi ragi Saccharomyces cerevisiae terhadap kualitas hasil fermentasi roti. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen yang dilaksanakan pada mata kuliah Bioteknologi di Universitas Lampung. Perlakuan dilakukan pada empat kelompok praktikum menggunakan tiga variasi konsentrasi ragi, yaitu 10 gram ragi, 5 gram ragi, dan tanpa ragi pada setiap 600 gram tepung terigu. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui uji organoleptik meliputi tekstur, rasa, aroma, dan warna roti yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan ragi sesuai takaran menghasilkan kualitas roti terbaik dengan tekstur lebih lembut dan mengembang, aroma khas fermentasi, rasa lebih gurih, serta warna kuning hingga cokelat keemasan. Hasil penelitian ini mendukung pembelajaran bioteknologi berbasis eksperimen dalam memahami proses fermentasi roti.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of information regarding the structure of macrofauna communities in the Kemiri Forest, Sumber Agung, which plays a crucial role as an indicator of ecosystem health. Furthermore, the potential for environmental disturbances such as habitat destruction due to human activities, changes in vegetation cover, and natural factors such as erosion and microclimate change are also important reasons for conducting this research. This study aims to determine the species richness, diversity, and evenness index of macrofauna species using the line transect method and pitfall traps. Sampling was conducted at three points with different habitat characteristics: the forest edge, the transition zone, and the central area of ​​the forest. The results showed that the line transect method recorded 15 species, while the pitfall trap method recorded 13 species. The species richness index values ​​were 5,049 (line transect) and 3,508 (pitfall trap), both of which are in the moderate category. The species diversity index was 2,685 and 2,315, respectively, which also indicates a moderate level of diversity. The species evenness values ​​were high, at 0.991 and 0.902, indicating no significant species dominance. This finding indicates that the macrofauna community is relatively stable, although potentially affected by environmental disturbances. This research is expected to provide a basis for monitoring ecosystem quality and forest conservation efforts.
