Abstract

Macrofauna is a biotic component that plays a crucial role in supporting ecosystem quality and stability. However, comprehensive information on the diversity, evenness, and importance index of macrofauna in the Suhita Valley, Bandar Lampung, is still unavailable. This limited information underpins the need for this study, as macrofauna diversity data can be used to assess environmental quality, monitor ecosystem stability, identify dominant and rare species, and support conservation-based area management. Furthermore, this information is also useful as a reference for environmental education activities, ecotourism development, and more concrete habitat conservation planning. This study aims to analyze the diversity index, evenness index, and importance index of macrofauna in three habitat types: residential areas, riparian zones, and high-stand areas. Sampling was conducted systematically using line transect and pitfall trap methods. The captured or observed macrofauna were then identified and analyzed quantitatively. The results showed that 22 macrofauna species with a total of 87 individuals were found. The diversity index in the line transect method was 2.224702055 and in the pitfall trap method was 2.15553999, which is included in the moderate category. The evenness index in the line transect method was 0.9661758264 and in the pitfall trap method was 0.8674531055, which is included in the high category and indicates a relatively stable community. The highest importance value index was found in Polyrhachis dives through the pitfall trap method and Bicyclus anynana through the line transect method. Thus, Suhita Valley has a fairly diverse and relatively stable macrofauna community, although some species show a higher level of dominance than others.

Abstract

Macrofauna diversity plays a crucial role in supporting ecosystem quality. However, information regarding macrofauna dominance, diversity, and evenness in the Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park Collection Block is still unavailable. This study aims to analyze the Dominance, Diversity, and Evenness indices in the Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park Collection Block area using the line transect and pitfall trap methods. The sampling process was carried out at three observation points representing different habitat characteristics. The study was conducted on November 1-3, 2025. Sampling was carried out at 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM WIB and observed for 2 days. At each point, 15 pitfall traps were installed with a distance of 10 meters between traps and left for 48 hours. The captured or observed macrofauna were identified using the iNaturalist application and then verified by referring to relevant taxonomic literature analyzed based on the parameters of dominance, diversity, and evenness indices. The results of the study indicate that the structure and community of macrofauna in the Collection Block area of ​​the Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park using the line transect method have a dominance index value of 0.10, which is categorized as low. The diversity index of 2.49 is categorized as medium. The evenness index of 0.89 is categorized as high. In addition, the pitfall trap method has a dominance index value of 0.37, which is categorized as low. The diversity index of 1.48 is categorized as medium. The evenness index of 0.61 is categorized as high. The conclusion of the study shows that the presence of macrofauna in the Collection Block area of ​​the Wan Abdul Rachman Grand Forest Park is quite diverse with no species dominating significantly. The results of the study can be an important ecological basis in evaluating environmental quality in order to design more concrete and targeted conservation.

Abstract

This study explores how SDGs-integrated Problem-Based Learning (PBL), supported by Repong Damar ethno-comics, contributes to the development of students’ critical thinking and sustainability awareness. A quasi-experimental approach with a non-equivalent control group design was applied to two tenth-grade classes at Senior High School Perintis Bandar Lampung selected purposively. Students’ critical thinking was assessed using essay tests, while sustainability awareness was measured through questionnaires. The findings revealed a statistically significant difference between groups (p < 0.05). The experimental class demonstrated a higher N-gain (0.64, moderate) compared to the control class (0.47, moderate). In addition, sustainability awareness in the experimental group reached a high category (85.8%). These results highlight the potential of combining SDGs-oriented PBL with culturally relevant media to create meaningful learning experiences that support both cognitive and sustainability-related competencies. Integrasi SDGs dalam Problem-Based Learning Berbantuan Etnokomik: Pengaruhnya terhadap Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis dan Kesadaran Keberlanjutan Siswa ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini mengkaji peran pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning (PBL) terintegrasi SDGs yang didukung etno-komik Repong Damar dalam mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kesadaran keberlanjutan siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain non-equivalent control group pada dua kelas X SMA Perintis Bandar Lampung yang dipilih secara purposive. Data keterampilan berpikir kritis diperoleh melalui tes esai, sedangkan kesadaran keberlanjutan diukur menggunakan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok (p < 0,05). Kelompok eksperimen memiliki nilai N-gain lebih tinggi (0,64, kategori sedang) dibandingkan kelompok kontrol (0,47, kategori sedang). Selain itu, tingkat kesadaran keberlanjutan pada kelompok eksperimen berada pada kategori tinggi (85,8%). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi PBL berbasis SDGs dengan media kontekstual berbasis budaya lokal mampu memberikan pengalaman belajar yang bermakna serta mendukung pengembangan kemampuan kognitif dan kesadaran keberlanjutan siswa.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) integrated with an environmental approach on junior high school students’ reflective thinking skills in the topic of interactions between living organisms and their environment. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest non-equivalent control group. A total of 72 seventh-grade students were selected through purposive sampling and divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group received PBL with an environmental approach, while the control group was taught using conventional discovery learning. Data were collected using a descriptive test based on five indicators of reflective thinking: triggering event, exploration, integration, application of solutions, and reflection. The results showed that the experimental group achieved a higher N-gain score (0.66) compared to the control group (0.53), both categorized as moderate improvement. The independent samples t-test indicated a significant difference between the two groups (p < 0.05), with an effect size of 1.53, categorized as large. These findings suggest that PBL integrated with an environmental approach is effective in enhancing students’ reflective thinking skills through contextual and meaningful science learning. Pendekatan Lingkungan dalam Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah: Pengaruhnya terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Reflektif Siswa Sekolah Menengah Pertama ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) yang berorientasi pada pendekatan lingkungan terhadap kemampuan berpikir reflektif pada materi interaksi makhluk hidup dan lingkungannya. Penelitian menggunakan desain kuasi eksperimen dengan bentuk pretest–posttest non-equivalent control group. Sampel terdiri dari 72 siswa kelas VII yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling dan dibagi ke dalam kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen diberi perlakuan berupa PBL berbasis pendekatan lingkungan, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan pembelajaran discovery learning. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes uraian yang berdasarkan lima indikator berpikir reflektif, yaitu triggering event, eksplorasi, integrasi, aplikasi solusi, dan refleksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai N-gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,66 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,53, yang keduanya termasuk kategori sedang. Uji independent sample t-test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan (p < 0,05), dengan nilai effect size sebesar 1,53 (kategori besar). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa PBL berbasis pendekatan lingkungan meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir reflektif siswa melalui pembelajaran kontekstual dan bermakna.
