Abstract

Perkembangan media digital telah menghadirkan ruang baru bagi praktik seni pertunjukan, termasuk seni tari tradisional. TikTok sebagai platform berbasis video pendek menjadi medium yang memungkinkan tarian tradisional direpresentasikan ulang dalam format dance challenge yang bersifat visual, cepat, dan viral. Salah satu fenomena yang menonjol adalah transformasi Tari Zapin, tarian tradisional Melayu yang sarat nilai religius, kesantunan, dan spiritualitas, ke dalam bentuk konten digital di TikTok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis bentuk transformasi Tari Zapin dalam dance challenge TikTok di era post-realitas serta mengkaji perubahan makna dan nilai budaya yang menyertainya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-analitis melalui observasi digital (digital ethnography), wawancara, dan studi literatur. Analisis data dilakukan dengan pendekatan semiotika dan fenomenologi budaya, menggunakan teori tari, post-realitas Jean Baudrillard, representasi budaya, serta teori transformasi seni. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Tari Zapin mengalami pergeseran bentuk dari ekspresi ritual dan sosial menjadi representasi visual yang tunduk pada logika algoritma dan estetika digital. Transformasi ini menyebabkan terjadinya pergeseran makna dan nilai budaya Zapin dari substansi spiritual menuju citra performatif. Namun demikian, Zapin digital juga menunjukkan kemampuan budaya lokal untuk beradaptasi dan bertahan melalui reinterpretasi di ruang digital. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa transformasi Tari Zapin di TikTok merupakan wujud negosiasi antara tradisi dan teknologi dalam konteks budaya post-realitas

Abstract

Batik merupakan warisan budaya Indonesia yang tidak hanya memiliki nilai estetika, tetapi juga mengandung makna ideologis yang merepresentasikan pandangan hidup masyarakat pendukungnya. Batik Tanjung Jabung Barat, khususnya yang berkembang di wilayah Tungkal Ilir, menampilkan motif-motif yang berakar pada nilai religius, adat istiadat Melayu, serta relasi harmonis antara manusia dan alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bentuk motif Batik Tanjung Jabung Barat serta menganalisis nilai-nilai ideologi budaya masyarakat Tungkal Ilir yang terkandung di dalamnya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara dengan perajin batik dan tokoh budaya, serta studi dokumentasi dan literatur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motif-motif seperti Rehal dan Tunjuk Ngaji, Hutan Mangrove, dan Biota Laut merupakan representasi ideologi budaya Melayu yang menekankan religiusitas, kearifan ekologis, kerja keras, dan harmoni sosial. Batik Tanjung Jabung Barat berfungsi tidak hanya sebagai produk seni dan ekonomi kreatif, tetapi juga sebagai media pewarisan nilai ideologis dan identitas budaya masyarakat Tungkal Ilir di tengah arus modernisasi.

Abstract

Dance education in schools is not only intended to develop students’ psychomotor skills but also serves as a crucial medium for transmitting local cultural values. However, based on preliminary observations conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Koto XI Tarusan, Pesisir Selatan Regency, the learning process of Minangkabau traditional dance is still heavily focused on mastering dance movements rather than understanding the history, philosophy, and cultural values embedded within the dance. This condition causes students to perform the dance properly while lacking an understanding of the symbolic meanings attached to each movement. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques to describe the implementation of traditional dance learning at the school. The findings indicate that the dominance of practical exercises has resulted in students’ limited cultural understanding, leading to a pedagogical gap. Therefore, a learning process that integrates skills, knowledge, and cultural values in a balanced manner is urgently needed. This study recommends the use of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach and the active involvement of local cultural figures to make dance learning more meaningful and culturally authentic.

Abstract

This research created a traditional musical instrument skills and cultural literacy enhancement e-module through the use of a QR Code for music learning at vocational high schools. The research was carried out as the learning resources were scarce, causing fewer opportunities for self-practice and less understanding of the cultural values in traditional music. Repeated, self-paced, and QR-linked audiovisual exposure sessions were considered a great means to reinforce the technical work of the students and at the same time deepen their understanding of the context and the culture of each piece, thus establishing a theoretical connection between the technology and the two dependent variables. The research and development method with the ADDIE model was used for the study, using a one-group pretest-posttest design without a control group.  The participants were [insert exact number] purposively selected Grade X vocational high school students along with material and media experts, and a music teacher. Data collection instruments were expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, learning achievement tests, instrumental performance assessments, and cultural literacy questionnaires, with the questionnaire instruments' internal consistency measured by Cronbach's Alpha (α = [insert coefficient]). Results demonstrated that the e-module Material expert and media expert determined validity to be approximately 94.0% each and practicality levels teacher = 93.4%; students = 91.2% were very high, its implementation also enhanced students' learning achievements (pretest-posttest N-Gain = 0.65, medium-to-high category), instrumental skills 87.25%, and cultural literacy (90.75 %). The use of QR Code technology allowed students to easily access multimedia learning resources and encouraged independent learning. The final developed e-module was hence found to be a valid, practical, and effective digital learning resource for traditional music instruction.

Abstract

Suno AI is being used in learning music and songwriting, and it's a good choice for helping students achieve their learning goals. Rephrase To understand how much Suno AI helps in speeding up the idea creation process for songwriting in grade 9 students at SMPN 26 Tangerang, researchers did a study. They used a qualitative method with a case study approach so they could deeply explore how Suno AI affects the creative process in music learning. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with 5 students and one music teacher. The findings showed that using Suno AI helps speed up the process of making song prototypes and changes the role of students in the creative process. Before, students were the main creators, but with Suno AI, they become creative curators. Overall, using Suno AI in learning is very helpful for achieving learning goals and helps students understand different music genres better.

Abstract

This study will provide a basis to know what local factors help to maintain a performing art tradition against cultural decay. The study follows ethnographic qualitative research, which data were collected by conducting participant observation, in-depth interview with 7 individuals selected by purposive and snowball sampling methods (i.e. traditional arts custodian, dancers-trainers, musicians, and community/government figures), and documentary techniques (taking pictures, videos and recording of archival records). Data interpretation was done through three steps: data reduction, data display, and concluding drawing while credibility was guaranteed through triangulating data from different sources and methods. Research results showed that DanceDewa Sembilan performance structure comprises bridal procession, welcoming DancePersembahan, central performance itself, thirteen main physical patterns, six connecting movements, a live traditional music performance, a troupe of nine unmarried female dancers, a specific face paint and costume, and three objects that are regarded as symbols (plates, candles, and robes). It also functions in four ways: (i) religious, (ii) social, (iii) entertainment, and (4) symbolic. Interestingly, unlike how other forms of Sumatran wedding dances have secularized, the core roles of DanceDewa Sembilan haven't gone away from their sacred dimension. The changes have only been superficial (i.e. the length of the performance, the location where it is performed, and some details in costumes). Such steadfastness is maintained because the community follows their customary law and the fact that performing the dance is reserved solely for women who haven't undergone the wedding ceremony yet. Therefore, this study serves as a real life case showing how a wedding dance that carries religious elements can be kept functional despite pressures of modern life and provides a documentation tool for cultural preservation and also a comparative case study for further research in the field of dances of intangible cultural heritage in Sumatra.

Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of the drill method in improving the singing ability of Grade XI students during vocal technique instruction at SMAN 1 Situjuah Limo Nagari. Methods: A quantitative approach employing a quasi-experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design was used. Forty-two students participated, comprising 21 students in the experimental group and 21 in the control group. Data were collected through pretest and posttest performance assessments and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Results: The experimental group's mean score increased from 65.4% to 83.5% (+18.1%), whereas the control group declined from 71.9% to 66.4% (−5.5%). Improvements were observed in breathing (+16.9%), intonation (+18.7%), articulation (+14.9%), and resonance (from 60.6% to 83.0%). Statistical analysis confirmed a significant improvement in the experimental group (p = 0.000) but not in the control group (p = 0.640). Conclusions: The drill method effectively enhances students' singing ability and vocal technique, providing an evidence-based instructional strategy for improving vocal learning in secondary school music education

Abstract

Social media platforms have become embedded in how musicians practise, perform, and are taught, yet the research base describing this phenomenon remains fragmented across disciplines, platforms, and educational levels. This systematic literature review examined how social media shapes music learning and performance, synthesising evidence on informal self-directed learning, formal instructional integration, teacher professional communities, and the psychosocial consequences of platform-mediated visibility. Following the PRISMA 2020 framework, a search was executed in the Scopus database on 24 July 2026, returning 657 records; after removing one duplicate, 656 records were screened by title, abstract, and keyword, of which 249 were assessed in full text against explicit eligibility criteria requiring a substantive combination of music, a named social media platform, and a learning or performance focus. Fifty studies published between 2020 and 2026 met the inclusion criteria and were retained for synthesis. Findings converged on four themes: social media, particularly YouTube, Instagram, and WeChat, functions as an informal and self-regulated learning resource that complements rather than replaces formal instruction; platforms are increasingly integrated into formal curricula and teacher professional communities as tools for content curation, feedback, and community-building; the visibility and metrics inherent to platforms generate documented risks of social comparison, performance anxiety, and impostor phenomena among students and educators; and a smaller critical literature questions the platformization of musical labour and pedagogy itself. Theoretically, the review extends self-regulated learning and communities-of-practice frameworks into networked, platform-mediated contexts. Practically, findings suggest that music educators can deliberately scaffold platform use to support motivation while mitigating comparison-related harms. Future research should pursue longitudinal designs, cross-platform comparisons, and greater representation from under-studied regions and non-Western musical traditions

Abstract

Traditional dance is an intangible cultural heritage that holds significant value in preserving a community's cultural identity. This study aims to systematically analyze literature related to the preservation and existence of traditional dance, focusing on developing preservation strategies through digital technology and educational approaches. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) following PRISMA 2020 guidelines with article searches from the Scopus database for the period 2020-2025. From 1,111 identified articles, through screening and eligibility assessment processes, 50 articles were analyzed. The analysis results show that traditional dance preservation efforts are developing through four main approaches: (1) utilization of digital technologies such as Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, and motion capture; (2) integration of dance education in formal curriculum; (3) ontology-based documentation and databases; and (4) revitalization through community participation. 3D technology and artificial intelligence have proven effective in documenting and transmitting traditional dance heritage. Abstract

Glue abuse as an addictive substance among adolescents and marginalized communities is a social and health problem that requires comprehensive policy interventions. This paper aims to formulate strategies to counter glue abuse through a regulatory approach, distribution control, strengthening of the social environment, enforcement of sanctions, and rehabilitation. The method used is a policy analysis based on a normative review of laws and regulations related to public health and social rehabilitation, accompanied by the formulation of an implementation mechanism at the local government level. The results of the study show that the issuance of regional regulations/regional head regulations regarding sanctions for distributors, sellers, and consumers, as well as the implementation of a “one-tap” distribution system, can restrict access and suppress the circulation of glue. Environmental strengthening is carried out through the improvement of public facilities, the initiation of economic activities in vulnerable areas, and joint patrols. The enforcement of administrative and social sanctions, the provision of rewards and punishments for regional apparatus, the establishment of complaint channels, and the socialization of P4GN strengthen the preventive effect. On the curative side, the establishment of permanent rehabilitation facilities based on health and social regulations is a prerequisite for sustainable recovery. With the integration of prevention, enforcement, and rehabilitation, this policy has the potential to reduce the prevalence of glue abuse while enhancing public health protection at the regional level.
