Abstract

Character education in elementary schools faces complex challenges in integrating moral values with 21st-century competency requirements. This article aims to reconstruct character education models through a synergy between Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi’s educational philosophy and the Pancasila Student Profile framework. Employing a literature review with a philosophical analysis approach, this research explores the "head, heart, and hand" principle as the foundation for children's moral and intellectual growth. The findings demonstrate that Pestalozzi's approach resonates deeply with the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly within the P5 project which emphasizes contextual and humanistic learning. Further discussion reveals the harmonization of Pestalozzian thought with Ki Hadjar Dewantara’s educational concepts that uphold human dignity. The study concludes that this synergistic reconstruction offers a strategic model for educators to design comprehensive, sustainable, and student-oriented learning programs.

Abstract

Kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia masih menghadapi tantangan serius, salah satunya ditunjukkan oleh penurunan skor PISA tahun 2022. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa mutu pendidikan nasional belum optimal, yang salah satu penyebab utamanya adalah rendahnya kompetensi guru sebagai ujung tombak pembelajaran. Guru dituntut untuk tidak hanya menguasai kompetensi pedagogik, profesional, sosial, dan kepribadian, tetapi juga mampu menjadi pemimpin pembelajaran yang reflektif, kolaboratif, dan inovatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas pelaksanaan Program Guru Penggerak di Provinsi Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dengan menggunakan model evaluasi CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Penelitian ini menggunakan mixed methods dengan desain embedded design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program ini efektif dari seluruh aspek evaluasi. Aspek konteks menunjukkan bahwa program relevan dengan kebutuhan dan tantangan pendidikan lokal. Aspek input menilai bahwa proses seleksi, materi pelatihan, dan pendampingan dilaksanakan secara transparan dan sesuai standar. Aspek proses menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan berjalan efektif dengan pendekatan blended learning dan dukungan fasilitator yang kompeten. Sementara itu, aspek produk memperlihatkan peningkatan kompetensi guru dalam kepemimpinan pembelajaran, pengelolaan kelas, serta pengembangan diri dan orang lain.

Abstract

This study examines the weakening internalisation of Islamic values in Islamic higher education, focusing on Nahdlatul Ulama institutions where Ahlussunnah Wal-Jama’ah (Aswaja) serves as an ideological foundation for strengthening moderate Islamic character. Using a qualitative multiple case study at Wahid Hasyim University Semarang and Balekambang Polytechnic Jepara, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and analysis of curriculum and institutional policy documents. The findings reveal four key patterns: Aswaja values are more strongly embedded in formal religious activities than in academic learning; institutional policies lack measurable indicators for Aswaja-based character outcomes; campus leadership plays a decisive role in shaping Aswaja institutional culture; and students tend to perceive Aswaja as an institutional identity rather than an ethical framework guiding academic practice. These findings indicate a gap between the normative vision of Aswaja and its practical implementation, resulting in symbolic and fragmented internalisation. This study concludes that strengthening moderate Islamic character requires a systemic Aswaja value-based curriculum integrating conceptual, pedagogical, and institutional dimensions, positioning Aswaja as an epistemological framework rather than merely a cultural symbol.

Abstract

The background of this study is based on reading culture and interest in learning as two important factors that influence the ability to write short stories. In this context, culture is understood as a collective habit formed through social and learning processes, which reflects individual values and attitudes towards reading activities as part of everyday life. This study used a quantitative design with an ex post facto method and involved a sample of 70 students. Data were collected using a questionnaire to measure reading culture and interest in learning, as well as a short story writing task to assess writing skills. The results showed that both variables, namely reading culture and learning interest, had a significant influence on short story writing ability, with learning interest making a slightly larger contribution. Multiple linear regression tests revealed that both contributed significantly to improvements in short story writing ability, with an R² of 0.874. The contribution of this study is to deepen the understanding of the importance of reading culture and interest in learning in improving writing skills, and to offer recommendations for developing effective teaching methods.
