Abstract

This article examines the strategic role of School Self-Evaluation (SSE) in strengthening a sustainable quality culture in educational institutions. The main objective of this study is to analyze how SSE functions as an internal quality assurance mechanism capable of identifying institutional strengths and weaknesses while guiding continuous improvement efforts. Using a literature review method, this article synthesizes research findings, policy documents, and theoretical perspectives related to educational quality, quality assurance systems, and school-based evaluation practices. The results indicate that SSE provides schools with valid and comprehensive data for decision-making, supports evidence-based planning, and promotes collaborative reflection among school stakeholders. Furthermore, SSE contributes to the development of a sustainable quality culture by embedding consistent monitoring, evaluation, and follow-up actions within school management processes. However, challenges such as limited evaluator competence, insufficient understanding of instruments, and resistance to change may hinder its optimal implementation. The findings imply that capacity building, stakeholder involvement, and policy support are essential to maximize the impact of SSE on school quality improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the integration of authentic assessment into learning evaluation as a strategic effort to strengthen school quality assurance. This research employed a library research design by systematically reviewing relevant books, nationally accredited journals, reputable international journals, and educational policy documents. Data were analysed using content analysis techniques to identify conceptual patterns related to authentic assessment, learning evaluation, and school quality assurance systems. The findings indicate that authentic assessment plays a significant role in providing comprehensive, valid, and meaningful data on students’ cognitive, affective, and psychomotor competencies. Its integration into learning evaluation supports both internal and external quality assurance systems by enhancing accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement in schools. Furthermore, authentic assessment encourages reflective teaching practices, strengthens evidence-based decision-making, and aligns learning outcomes with real-world competencies. The implications of this study suggest that schools need to systematically institutionalize authentic assessment within their evaluation policies as part of a sustainable quality assurance culture. This study contributes theoretically to the development of educational quality assurance models and practically to improving evaluation practices in schools.

Abstract

The uneven distribution of educational quality in Indonesia remains a serious challenge, particularly due to the inconsistent implementation of the National Education Standards (SNP) across regions. This disparity impacts the quality of learning, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), which demands both academic achievement and character building. This study aims to analyze the role of educational quality assurance certification institutions in improving PAI quality through monitoring, coaching, and evaluation mechanisms. The method used was a qualitative study based on a literature review, with data sources consisting of regulations, institutional reports, and national and international scientific publications. The results indicate that certification institutions play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with quality standards, providing mentoring, and strengthening the integration of spiritual values in PAI learning. However, implementation gaps between regions and variations in audit quality were identified that need to be addressed. This study concludes that PAI quality assurance requires a holistic approach encompassing both academic and spiritual aspects. The contribution of this research lies in strengthening educational quality assurance theory and in developing a new understanding of the integration of Islamic values into certification mechanisms.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the Bina Baca Al-Qur'an (BBAQ) program at school as an effort to improve the quality of Quranic education in elementary schools. The research focuses on analyzing the program's foundation, resource readiness, activity mechanisms, and student outcomes. The study's objects include Quranic teachers, control books, memorization targets per grade level, and the implementation of reading and memorization activities held Monday through Thursday. The study uses the CIPP evaluation model, which assesses the context, input, process, and product through document review and activity observation. The results indicate that the BBAQ program aligns with the school's needs, effectively addressing the variation in students' reading abilities and supporting the school's religious vision. Regarding input, the school has provided adequate supporting components; however, teacher competence and documentation consistency need improvement. The implementation process is routine but inconsistent due to teacher rotation, time constraints, and varying student abilities. In terms of product, the program shows strong memorization outcomes, with many students completing Juz 30, while reading achievements remain uneven due to the lack of clear achievement standards per grade level.
