Abstract

Introduction: Adolescent girls are prone to nutrition-related problems, ranging from anaemia, SEZ, undernutrition and overnutrition. Currently, more interventions are conducted on school-aged adolescents, while adolescents who are no longer in school have not been addressed. Implementation of interventions in the community, such as youth organisations and religious organisations, not only in schools. This can increase accessibility and participation among adolescents who are not in formal education young women-based social organisations can be involved in interventions to prevent adolescent malnutrition through a mentoring model. The aim of this study was to analyse the effect of organisation-based mentoring on improving knowledge, this study aims to analyse the differences in knowledge, practice of malnutrition prevention in the form of measurement of calorie adequacy and iron intake. Methods: This research design is a quasi-experimental pre and post-test with a control group. This study was conducted on 189 adolescent girls, which were divided into an intervention group of 98 people and a control group of 91 people. Respondents were taken by purposive sampling based on inclusion criteria. The study was conducted for 10 weeks. Data were obtained by structured interviews. Data were analysed using paired t test and wilcoxon, while between group analysis with manwithney. Results: The results showed that there was a difference between knowledge, behaviour before and after the intervention between the treatment group and the control group with p < 0.05. There was a significant increase in knowledge, attitude and behaviour in the intervention and control groups. Conclusion: Community organisation-based mentoring has been shown to be effective in improving adolescent health. It is necessary to strengthen regulations in regulating the role of community organisations, especially adolescents, through structured assistance and education for vulnerable groups including adolescents. The results of the study can be duplicated to be implemented in other organisations that focus on adolescents.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Anemia remains a public health concern among prospective brides. Nutritional education plays an essential role in enhancing awareness and preventive behaviors against anemia. Methode: This quasi-experimental study applied a pretest-posttest control group design. A total of 70 prospective brides were divided into intervention and control groups. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney test and logistic regression adjusted for confounding variables. Result: Significant improvements were found in knowledge, attitudes, nutrient intake, and hemoglobin levels in the intervention group compared to the control group (p=0.000). After adjusting for confounding variables, nutritional education remained significantly associated with knowledge (p=0.015), nutrient intake (p=0.010), and hemoglobin levels (p=0.005), but not with attitudes (p=0.057). Conclusion: Nutritional education effectively improves knowledge, nutrient intake, and hemoglobin levels among prospective brides, supporting its role in anemia prevention, although changes in attitude may require additional factors.

Abstract

Doctor patient consultation services play a crucial role in improving healthcare delivery and patient outcomes. With the increasing adoption of telemedicine and mobile health applications, understanding the impact of these consultation services on patient adherence, recovery, and satisfaction has become essential. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of various consultation methods, including telemedicine and mobile apps, in enhancing treatment adherence and patient experience, particularly in managing chronic diseases such as tuberculosis and diabetes. A comprehensive literature review was conducted, analyzing empirical studies focused on doctor–patient consultations delivered through traditional, telemedicine, and mobile health platforms. Key variables examined included service quality dimensions (reliability, responsiveness, empathy), educational interventions, and the use of digital reminder systems. Studies from diverse healthcare settings and patient populations were considered to assess the influence of consultation quality and technology-assisted interventions on patient adherence and health outcomes. Findings consistently demonstrate that high-quality consultation services significantly improve patient adherence and satisfaction. Telemedicine and mobile applications contribute positively by facilitating continuous engagement and medication reminders. Educational efforts integrated into consultation processes further enhance patient knowledge and compliance. However, adherence is multifactorial, influenced by socio-economic status, health literacy, and systemic healthcare barriers. While telemedicine shows promise, challenges such as infrastructure limitations and regulatory hurdles remain. The study recommends integrating technology with empathetic, patient-centered communication and tailored educational support to optimize treatment adherence and clinical outcomes.

Abstract

Introduction: Nutritional status is an indicator of body condition that is influenced by diet and nutrient utilization. Poor nutrient intake in adolescent girls has the potential to cause anemia where women are more susceptible to micronutrient deficiencies. WHO reports that 30% of women aged 15-49 years are anemic, with the highest prevalence in adolescents 15-19 years. The problem of anemia in adolescent girls has not been resolved, with low adherence to iron supplementation programs and poor nutritional knowledge. Methods: This study used a systematic literature review following the PRISMA method. Data were searched in several sources, including Scopus, PubMed, and Google Scholar, with the keywords “Nutritional status of adolescent girls” and “Anemia in adolescent girls.” The search process started in October 2024, focusing on relevant literature on nutritional status and anemia in adolescent girls and resulted in 20 articles used in this study. Results: Based on the articles that have been extracted and analyzed, 5 research articles showed an association between nutritional status and the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls, and 6 other articles stated that there was no association between nutritional status and the incidence of anemia in adolescent girls. Conclusion: The incidence of anemia in adolescent girls is generally caused by iron deficiency, due to irregular eating patterns, and consumption of junk food. In addition, it can also be caused by lack of knowledge, parents' income, mother's education, protein intake, vitamin C intake, breakfast habits, genetic factors, history of infectious diseases, and menstrual conditions.
