Abstract

Food distribution process is very important task because the product can expire during distribution and the further the distance the greater the cost. Determining the route will be more difficult if all customers have their own time to be visited. This problem is known as the Vehicle Routing Problem with Time Windows (VRPTW). VRPTW problems can be solved using genetic algorithms because genetic algorithms generate multiple solutions at once. Genetic algorithms generate chromosomes from serial numbers that represent the customer number to visit. These chromosomes are used in the calculation process together with other genetic operators such as population size, number of generations, crossover and mutation rate. The results show that the best population size is 300, 3,000 generations, the combination of crossover and mutation rate is 0.4:0.6 and the best selection method is elitist selection. Using a data test, the best parameters give a good solution that minimize the distribution route.

Abstract

Distribution is the challenging and interesting problem to be solved. Distribution problems have many facets to be resolved because it is too complex problems such as limited multi-level with one product, one-level and multi-product even desirable in terms of cost also has several different versions. In this study is proposed using an adaptive genetic algorithm that proved able to acquire efficient and promising result than the classical genetic algorithm. As the study and the extension of the previous study, this study applies adaptive genetic algorithm considering the problems of multi-level distribution and combination of various products. This study considers also the fixed cost and variable cost for each product for each level distributor. By using the adaptive genetic algorithm, the complexity of multi-level and multi-product distribution problems can be solved. Based on the cost, the adaptive genetic algorithm produces the lowest and surprising result compared to the existing algorithm

Abstract

Production planning is a plan aimed at controlling the quantity of products produced. Production planning is very important to be carried out by the company so that the production will always be controlled. It is very difficult to plan production with a variety of product variations because each product certainly has a different demand value from its customers. This has become a complex problem so an algorithm is needed to overcome these problems. Simulated Annealing can produce optimal solutions more effectively and efficiently. Production costs generated by applying Simulated Annealing are Rp. 6,902,406,000, - for all types of products, which is better than existing condition.

Abstract

In the home textile industry, production planning needs to be done so that the production costs incurred by the company can be well controlled. Production planning is a problem that cannot be solved in a short time. Problems are more complex if the company has several production branches in other cities, with rules and standards that are certainly very different from one city to another. Based on this background, an algorithm is needed that can solve production planning problems for companies with many production branches in order to obtain optimal solutions. VNS is applied by the author and produces an optimal and efficient solution because the time needed is relatively short compared to the planning carried out previously by the company.

Abstract

Rainfall is one of the factors that influence climate change in an area and is very difficult to predict, while rainfall information is very important for the community. Forecasting can be done using existing historical data with the help of mathematical computing in modeling. The Support Vector Regression (SVR) method is one method that can be used to predict non-linear rainfall data using a regression function. In calculations using the regression function, choosing the right SVR parameters is needed to produce forecasting with high accuracy. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) method is one method that can be used to optimize the parameters of the existing SVR method, so that it will produce SVR parameter values with high accuracy. Forecasting with rainfall data in Poncokusumo region using SVR-PSO has a performance evaluation value that refers to the value of Root Mean Square Error (RMSE). There are several Kernels that will be used in predicting rainfall using Regression, SVR, and SVR-PSO with Linear Kernels, Gaussian RBF Kernels, ANOVA RBF Kernels. The results of the performance evaluation values obtained by referring to the RMSE value for Regression is 56,098, SVR is 88,426, SVR-PSO method with Linear Kernel is 7.998, SVR-PSO method with Gaussian RBF Kernel is 27.172, and SVR-PSO method with ANOVA RBF Kernel is 2.193. Based on research that has been done, ANOVA RBF Kernel is a good Kernel on the SVR-PSO method for use in rainfall forecasting, because it has the best forecasting accuracy with the smallest RMSE value.

Abstract

Production and distribution system in a company should be managed carefully. Delay in product delivery not only results in a late penalty due to customer dissatisfaction or breach of contract, but also causes a supply chain failure. Of course, all these impacts will also reduce the reputation of a company. Scheduling integrated production-distribution is classified as NP-Hard problem. Genetic algorithm can be used to solve complex problem. In this paper, genetic algorithm is used for scheduling production-distribution in make to order system where each job has a different deadline and volume (size). This problem is represented on mixed integer programing model. We verify the genetic algorithm’s performance by comparing the results with the total cost calculated by lower bounds of the problems. Experiments show that the traditional initial random cannot produce good result with more than 15 job size problem. We proposed guided initial chromosome to tackle this problem. From further experiments shows that the proposed method approach can increase the performances of genetic algorithm in more than 15 job size problem. In general, proposed genetic algorithm with guided initial chromosome shows better solution quality and better time efficiency compared to previous related research.
