Abstract

The use of essential oils in the world each year has increased with the increasing development of modern industries such as the perfume industry, cosmetics, food, aroma therapy and medicine. Essential oils or also known as etheric oils are a large group of vegetable oils in the form of viscous liquids at room temperature but volatile so that they give a distinctive aroma. Some components of essential oils are hydrocarbon compounds (hydrogen-carbon) and oxygen. One source of essential oils can be obtained from rose extract. This study aims to analyze the physical, chemical, and beneficial properties of several components of the rose essential oil. This research approach uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method, then the data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results obtained conclude that the essential oil content in roses with the highest percentage is n-nonadekane, -phenylethylacetate, phenylethylalcohol, and 2-Isopropyl-5-methyl-9-methylene-bicyclo-1-decene, -Fernesene, and -cadinene. From these structures there are 2 types of hybrid orbitals, namely sp3 and sp2, when viewed from the type of bond π and σ; whereas if viewed from the isomerism, these structures have skeletal, functional groups, and optical isomers. Some of the constituents in the volatile oil components can be reacted (nucleophilic addition with HCl and electrophilic with bromine). The existence of these differences causes the chemical and physical properties of the structure of the essential oil content to vary according to their usefulness.

Abstract

Transparent soap is synthesized from vegetable oils with alkaline bases through the saponification reaction with the addition of a transparent agent. The different material characteristics of coconut oil (Cocos nucifera) and chicken oil (Gallus domesticus) have the potential to produce unique transparent soap. Ultrasonic wave cavitation homogenizes the mixture and accelerates the reaction rate. The purpose of this research is to synthesize transparent soap from coconut oil and chicken oil and compared the soap produced using ultrasonic waves and with soap from the heating method. This experimental laboratory research was carried out with the stages of preparation and characterization of coconut oil and chicken oil, followed by saponification of coconut oil and chicken oil accompanied by ultrasonic waves. Characterization of the synthesized transparent soap. The results in this study indicate that soaps made from coconut oil are more transparent than those made from chicken oil, and soaps made with ultrasonic waves are more transparent than those made by normal heating. The ultrasonic transparent soap character of coconut oil has a moisture content of 22.02%, the non-saponified fraction 1.01%, insoluble part of alcohol by 1.79%, free alkaline by 0.04%, pH 9.35, and this is in accordance with SNI for soap except for its water content. Meanwhile, ultrasonic soap from chicken oil has a moisture content of 23.26%, non-saponified fraction 5.57%, the insoluble portion of alcohol was 4.69%, free alkaline 0.12%, pH 9.60, this is not in accordance with SNI soap. The soap produced by the ultrasonic method with coconut oil has the best character and has the most compatibility with SNI for solid soap.

Abstract

It is crucial that the concepts of buffer solutions must be properly understood by students. It is due to the fact that buffer solutions are closely related to daily life, for example in blood, drugs, and others. The results of research and interviews show that students' understanding and student learning outcomes about the buffer solution material is still low. A student-centered learning process is needed so that it can make the learning process more fun and improve students’ learning outcomes. A meaningful student-centered learning is needed for the Learning Cycle (LC) learning model. However, the group discussion on the 5E LC learning model was less patterned, so it was combined with a patterned cooperative learning model that is Think-Pair-Share (TPS). This study aims to see the implementation of the learning process from the classroom with 5E LC -TPS and 5E LC learning models, and the influence of the 5E LC-TPS on cognitive learning outcomes from the eleventh grade students of Sidoarjo on buffer solution material. The design of the study used in this study is a quasi-experimental design with post-test-only-control group design. The research finding showed that: (1) the implementation of the learning process of the two categorized classes was done very well that is 98.3 percent in the experimental class and 95.4 percent in the control class, (2) there is the influence of the 5E LC learning model combined by TPS on the cognitive learning outcomes of class students as indicated by the significant average differences of the two classes. The average value of cognitive learning outcomes of experimental class students is higher than the control class which is equal to 85.43 and the control class is 81.62. From the results of these studies it can be concluded that there is the influence of the 5E LC-TPS learning model on improving students' cognitive learning outcomes. Konsep-konsep larutan penyangga perlu dipahami siswa karena larutan penyangga erat kaitannya dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, misalnya penyangga karbonat dalam darah, obat-obatan, dan lain-lain. Hasil penelitian dan wawancara menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman siswa dan hasil belajar siswa tentang materi larutan penyangga masih rendah. Diperlukan suatu proses pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa sehingga dapat menjadikan proses pembelajaran lebih bermakana dan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Salah satu pembelajaran bermakna yang berpusat pada siswa adalah model pembelajaran Learning Cycle (LC). Namun, diskusi kelompok pada model pembelajaran LC 5E kurang berpola, sehingga dipadukan dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif yang berpola yaitu Think Pair Share (TPS). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran dari kelas dengan model pembelajaran LC 5E-TPS dan LC 5E serta pengaruh model pembelajaran LC 5E -TPS terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri Sidoarjo pada materi larutan penyangga. Rancangan Penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan eksperimental semu dengan post-test-only-control group design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran kedua kelas terkategori terlaksana dengan sangat baik, yaitu 92,11 persen pada kelas eksperimen dan 90,78 persen pada kelas kontrol. (2) ada pengaruh model pembelajaran LC 5E yang dipadu TPS terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas yang ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan dari kedua kelas. Nilai rata-rata hasil belajar kognitif siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dari pada kelas kontrol yaitu sebesar 85,43 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 81,62. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh model pembelajaran LC 5E-TPS terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar kognitif siswa.

Abstract

The 21st century provides many changes and challenges for teachers and students. The rapidly developing digital era broadly impacts learning development in Indonesia. The Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia has promoted the implementation of an merdeka curriculum which provides flexibility for teachers to develop students' 21st century abilities. The new merdeka curriculum was established so that teachers are still adapting to these changes. This article reviews the perspectives of chemistry teachers on 21st-century skills that have developed in Indonesia. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with surveys, questionnaires, and interviews. Respondents were Chemistry teachers, totaling eighty-four teachers and scattered throughout Indonesia. Interviews followed this up with ten teachers deliberately selected from the overall sample. The results showed that 94% of Chemistry teachers understand the importance of 21st-century skills. The study reveals that optimizes 21st-century skills. Several ways can be taken, namely, using constructivist learning methods to improve skills, providing engaging learning media, making motivational learning videos, and providing more time for students to complete problem-based learning or projects. They mentioned several challenges that hindered them from applying 21st-century skills in their teaching practice. The reasons for time constraints and concerns about teaching chemistry concepts were not completed according to schedule; the assessment needed to be more optimal because it was still focused on written tests and limited resources and infrastructure. Despite the many challenges, most teachers are still keen to implement learning that applies 21st-century skills in their classes.

Abstract

Kinerja perusahaan merupakan gambaran suatu keadaan, hasil, prestasi suatu perusahaan pada suatu periode tertentu. Perusahaan yang telah melakukan Initial Public Offering secara teoritis akan memiliki pengaruh besar terhadap kondisi perusahaan dan meningkatkan kinerja perusahaan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian bersifat uji statistik komparasi non parametrik yang bertujuan membandingkan satu atau lebih variabel pada dua atau lebih sampel yang berbeda, atau pada waktu yang berbeda dengan menggunakan wilcoxon signed ranks test. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan sebelum dan sesudah Initial Public Offering (IPO) pada rasio Non Performing Financing (NPF) dengan signifikansi 0,0495, Financing To Deposit Ratio (FDR) dengan signifikansi 0,0355, Return On Asset (ROA) dengan signifikansi 0,025, Net Operating Margin (NOM) dengan signifikansi 0,025, dan Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR) dengan signifikansi 0,001.

Abstract

Lipstik merupakan kosmetik dasar kaum hawa yang membuat wajah penggunanya menjadi segar berseri. Komponen lipstik yang beraneka macam merupakan bahan sintetis yang dapat membahayakan kesehatan. Di alam tersedia banyak pigmen alami yang dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pewarna yang aman bagi pengguna. Oleh sebab itu diperlukan edukasi kepada masyarakat untuk membuat lipstik yang berbahan dasar pigmen alami. Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengedukasi masyarakat supaya mempunyai wawasan tentang lipstik, komponen yang mendasari, dan memberi keterampilan kepada masyarakat untuk membuat lipstik menggunakan pigmen tanaman. Diharapkan dari kegiatan ini, masyarakat dapat mengembangkannya sebagai produk unggulan UMKM. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah kelompok ibu PKK yang umumnya berprofesi sebagai ibu rumah tangga. Metode pengabdian meliputi penyajian materi dan pelatihan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah semua peserta sangat antusias terhadap pelatihan edukasi pembuatan lipstik dan berharap agar dilakukan pelatihan tentang produk kosmetik lainnya. Kata kunci— Lipstik, Pigmen alami, Ibu PKK wilayah Malang Abstract Lipstick is a basic cosmetic for women that makes the user’s face look fresh and radiant. The various components of lipstick are synthetic materials that can be harmful to health. In nature, many natural pigments can be used as safe dyes for users. Therefore, educating the public about making lipsticks made from natural pigments is necessary. This community service aims to inform the public so that they have insight into lipsticks. The underlying components provide the community with skills to make lipstick using plant pigments. From this activity, the community can develop it as a superior product for small-medium enterprises (SMEs). This activity targets a group of women (PKK) who generally work as housewives. The service method includes the presentation of materials and training. The result of this activity is that all participants are enthusiastic about the educational training on lipstick making and hope there will be training on other cosmetic products. Keywords— Lipstick, Natural pigments, Women society in Malang

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) Perkembangan SMA/Sederajat di Kecamatan Sangatta Utara (2012-2020). 2) faktor pendukung dan penghambat perkembangan SMA/Sederajat di Kecamatan Sangatta Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Lokasi penelitian bertempat di Kecamatan Sangatta Utara. Sumber data data menggunakan Observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, perkembangan SMA/Sederajat di Kecamatan Sangatta Utara pada tahun 2012-2020: 1) Pertama, berakreditasi A (unggul), B (baik), dan C (cukup). Kedua, sarana prasarana SMA/Sederajat Negeri lebih berkembang dibandingkan SMA/Sederajat Swasta. Ketiga, kondisi peserta didik, tenaga pendidik, dan semakin meningkat baik dalam jumlah partisipasi siswa, tenaga profesional tenaga pendidik, maupun kebutuhan atas tenaga kependidikan. Keempat, dana utama berasal dari dana BOS (Bantuan Operasional Sekolah). Kelima, kurikulum yang digunakan yaitu kurikulum KTSP (2006), dan kurikulum 2013. 2) Secara umum faktor pendorong dan penghambat perkembangan SMA/Sederajat di Sangatta Utara dipengaruhi oleh: lokasi sekolah, kondisi sarana prasarana, kondisi tenaga pendidik dan kependidikan, kepemimpinan, serta pendanaan.

Abstract

In the context of implementing Decentralisatie Wet 1903, the Dutch government issued Decentralisatie Besluit 1905 and Local Raden Ordonnantie. In Decentralisatie Besluit, the main points of formation, composition, position and authority of the council (Raad) in matters of financial management are separated from the central government. Meanwhile, the Local Raden Ordonnantie is an implementing regulation that regulates the structure, status and authority of the council (Raad), especially Gewestelijke Raad, Plaatselijk Raad, and Gemeenteraad. Gemeente Banjarmasin is a term in Dutch which means "municipality" or "regional government of Banjarmasin, Indonesia". Gemeente Banjarmasin is an administrative entity that regulates the territory and various aspects of Banjarmasin city government.

Abstract

This During the period between 1928 and 1930, Christian religious organizations entered the Borneo region with the primary intention of spreading the teachings of Christianity to the Dayak community. The Dayak people, living in a unique and culturally rich social environment, serve as the primary focus of this research. This article aims to investigate and comprehend the responses exhibited by the Dayak community to the presence of Christian religious organizations, exploring the influences generated by such interactions, and analyzing the roles and responses of the Dayak people in the face of this new religious influx. The Dayak community, with its complex social structure and strong cultural beliefs, provides an intriguing context for understanding how Christian teachings permeated and interacted with the local culture. Christian organizations during this period were committed to disseminating their religious doctrines while concurrently providing education and support for community development. The responses of the Dayak community to these efforts varied significantly, encompassing partial acceptance, partial rejection, and the preservation of their existing beliefs and culture. The research findings offer insights into the complex dynamics of cultural changes occurring within the Dayak community during this period. Cultural conflicts, adaptive processes, and the struggles over religious values contribute to the cultural diversity that characterizes Borneo.
