Abstract

Online stores with more than 3000 reviews have made it difficult for consumers to find reviews that can be used as the main source of information to decide on a purchase. This research aims to investigate the credibility of reviews that consumers can be trusted. This research used mixed methods (quantitative and qualitative) through sequential explanation. In this quantitative study, 300 respondents were collected using a voluntary sampling technique, and 900 reviews from three e-commerce sites in Indonesia were selected purposely. The qualitative approach used in-depth interviews with three consumers and a selected seller using a purposive sampling technique. The data was processed by multiple linear regression and descriptive using SPSS 25.0 and Nvivo 12. Research results confirmed that the motivation to read reviews and consumer attitudes toward reviews significantly affect online purchasing decisions, but a third of consumers still rarely provide reviews. Furthermore, based on source credibility, E-WOM quality, and recommendation rating, in the three e-commerce sites, almost half of the reviews studied were hard to be trusted. Based on these findings, this research summarizes the policy implications for consumers and governments and suggests future research.

Abstract

The rapid development of E-Commerce in the current digital era offers various available products and provides greater opportunities for consumers to choose and determine which products to buy. The purpose of this study was to analyze the demographic segmentation of local cosmetic products online consumers and the effect of ethnocentrism on purchase intention in local cosmetics through online shopping. The sampling technique used was non-probability sampling with a convenience sampling method. This study involved a sample of 210 respondents, dominated by women in the age range of 17-24 years, college graduates, unmarried, and have jobs as employees with an income of IDR 5,000,000 – IDR 10,000,000 per month. The research was using the SEM-LISREL analysis tool. The results showed that the ethnocentrism variable had a positive and significant effect on consumer purchase intention. The variables of cultural openness, patriotism, conservatism, and collectivism have a positive and significant effect on ethnocentrism and have a significant indirect effect on purchase intention in local cosmetics through ethnocentrism as an intervening variable. A strategy that can be applied by the company to increase purchase intention of local cosmetics through ethnocentrism is to educate consumers related to Indonesian cultural heritage which is applied to local cosmetics.

Abstract

Understanding children's behavior and intentions to subscribe to YouTube channels are important for production companies and parents. This study analyzed factors influencing children’s behavioral intention to subscribe to YouTube channels using UTAUT 2 model and SEM-PLS analysis. The samples were 100 kids aged 7 to 12 who live in the Greater Jakarta area. Data were collected through an online questionnaire. The results showed that habit and social influence significantly influenced children’s behavioral intention to use Kidz YouTube Channel. Children’s behavioral intention to use Kidz YouTube Channel significantly influenced children’s usage behavior. Moreover, children’s usage behavior significantly influenced their intention to subscribe to Kidz's YouTube Channel. The study indicated that children’s decision to subscribe to YouTube channels was simple and relied on their habits and social influence. Therefore, parents need to supervise children’s activities on YouTube. Meanwhile, the content creator company could optimize a routine schedule for uploading a new video based on selected themes and also needs to increase parents’ awareness of the safety of their program.

Abstract

Penyalahgunaan data pribadi menjadi salah satu masalah dalam berbelanja online (e-commerce), tetapi konsumen cenderung bersedia memberikan data pribadi melalui internet. Tujuan riset ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh pengetahuan, persepsi risiko, dan kepercayaan terhadap willingness to share data pribadi. Riset ini menggunakan desain mixed methods. Data primer diambil melalui survei daring (324 responden) dan in-depth interview 6 responden. Data sekunder diperoleh dari desk study regulasi dan kebijakan privasi dalam e-commerce. Hasil riset menunjukkan meskipun responden memiliki tingkat pengetahuan, persepsi risiko, kepercayaan, dan willingness to share yang cukup, tetapi ada keterpaksaan dalam memberikan data pribadi. Hasil Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) menunjukkan variabel kepercayaan memiliki pengaruh langsung paling kuat terhadap willingness to share diikuti oleh pengetahuan. Persepsi risiko berpengaruh secara tidak langsung melalui kepercayaan terhadap willingness to share. Regulasi dan kebijakan privasi masih belum optimal melindungi data pribadi konsumen. Implikasi riset ini lain perlu penguatan sistem keamanan e-commerce, pengawasan yang ketat dari pemerintah terhadap e-commerce, serta menindak tegas kasus penyalahgunaan data.

Abstract

The high demand for food access with applications creates competition between food delivery companies. The purpose of this research is to identify and to analyze promotion differences, price value, social influence, perceived usefulness, ease of use, customer experience, restaurant search, choice of food variants, consumer buying behavior, and continuous purchase intention. The research was conducted on consumers who used Gofood, Grabfood, and Shopeefood applications at least once in the last three months, with 400 respondents aged over 15 years. Data collection was carried out using an online questionnaire. Analysis was carried out by descriptive analysis, ANOVA and SWOT tests. The results showed that there were differences in the variables of social influence, perceived usefulness, ease of use, restaurant search, food choice variants, consumer buying behavior, and intention to continue with Gofood, Grabfood, and Shopeefood applications. Shopeefood earns a lower average than Grabfood and Gofood. Strategies can be carried out by taking advantage of busy consumers to create dependence on OFD applications by meeting consumer expectations by providing promos.

Abstract

Keseimbangan antara produksi yang berkelanjutan dan konsumsi yang bertanggung jawab menjadi permasalahan konsumen yang penting untuk diperhatikan. Di Indonesia, upaya ini didukung oleh beberapa kebijakan yang berfokus pada isu konsumsi berkelanjutan, salah satunya kerangka kerja strategi yang disusun oleh Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan bersama Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional, guna mencapai konsumsi dan produksi berkelanjutan di Indonesia tahun 2020–2030. Salah satu targetnya adalah informasi yang relevan, kesadaran terhadap pembangunan berkelanjutan, serta gaya hidup yang selaras dengan alam. Berkaitan dengan ini, istilah Pendidikan Konsumsi Berkelanjutan menjadi relevan, mendorong program pemberdayaan konsumen mengenai konsumsi berkelanjutan semakin potensial, terlebih dengan pemanfaatan ruang digital dan konsumen generasi Z sebagai katalisator yang signifikan. Hal ini mendukung berkembangnya Greensumerism, yakni program pemberdayaan konsumen yang berfokus pada praktik konsumsi berkelanjutan melalui TikTok. Menjadikan pengikut akun @aksibumi.id berusia 18–24 tahun sebagai sasaran pemberdayaan, Greensumerism bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan terhadap produk ramah lingkungan dan konsumsi berkelanjutan. Pelaksanaan program dimulai dari Persiapan Program, Pre-Greensumerism, Pretest, Greensumerism Series, dan Post-test. Capaian program ialah peningkatan pengetahuan terhadap produk ramah lingkungan dan konsumsi berkelanjutan sebesar 48%, yang diukur melalui pengisian pretest dan post-test. Secara keseluruhan, program Greensumerism sebagai intervensi dalam memberdayakan konsumen generasi Z telah terlaksana secara efektif dan tepat sasaran.

Abstract

Masalah pengelolaan sampah di Indonesia masih memprihatinkan, dengan 6.667.044 ton sampah yang tidak terkelola pada tahun 2023. Salah satu solusi untuk meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai pentingnya pengelolaan sampah adalah melalui penerapan green lifestyle. Program pengabdian masyarakat, GreenZ dirancang untuk mengedukasi generasi Z mengenai gaya hidup ramah lingkungan melalui konten edukatif di platform TikTok. TikTok dipilih karena mayoritas penggunanya merupakan generasi Z, yang memiliki potensi besar untuk diubah menjadi agen perubahan dalam isu lingkungan. Program ini dilaksanakan melalui akun TikTok @aksibumi.id dengan enam seri konten, meliputi konten terkait pengurangan sampah, penghematan kertas, dan gaya hidup minimalis. Metode yang digunakan mencakup pembuatan konten kreatif yang relevan dengan minat generasi Z serta evaluasi engagement melalui indikator views, likes, comments, shares, dan saves. Hasil program menunjukkan setiap konten berhasil melampaui target indikator keberhasilan, dengan konten mengenai skincare dan paperless mendapatkan lebih dari 2.000 views. Kesimpulannya, platform TikTok efektif sebagai media untuk menyebarkan edukasi mengenai green lifestyle. Program ini membuktikan pentingnya pemanfaatan media sosial dalam kampanye lingkungan yang kreatif dan relevan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran generasi Z mengenai isu keberlanjutan lingkungan.

Abstract

Background: Complaint behavior allows consumers to express dissatisfaction; however, many remain silent instead of voicing their complaints. Different generational groups may exhibit varying tendencies and influencing factors related to complaint behavior. Objective: The purpose of this research was to compare and examine how self-concept, value, and emotional Intelligence affected the complaint behavior of the baby boomer, Generation X, and Generation Y generations. Method: This cross-sectional study used direct interviews and structured questionnaires. A quota sample technique was used to choose 90 homemakers, 30 from each generation. Results: This study showed significant differences in self-concept between Generation X and baby boomers and Generation Y, as well as in value conflict between Generation X and Y. However, emotional Intelligence did not differ significantly. Self-concept influenced complaint behavior in Generation X, but not in baby boomers and Generation Y. This finding emphasizes the importance of grievance resolution strategies tailored to the characteristics of each generation. Conclusion: Generation X's maturity and productivity contribute to their stronger self-concept and multitasking ability, while Generation Y shows the highest complaint behavior. Efforts to enhance complaint behavior may benefit from focusing on self-concept development, particularly in less expressive generations. Abstract

Social media platforms are now inseparable from children as well as parents, making social media literacy a critical skill for maintaining family well-being in the digital age. This analysis explores whether social media literacy genuinely influences family well-being, as reflected in how each family member engages with social media. A systematic literature review was conducted using Antecedents, Decisions, Outcomes (ADO) and Theory, Context, Method (TCM) frameworks analyzing 66 studies. Findings identified five main antecedents: individual and psychological factors, social and family influences, access to media and technology, intervention and empowerment, and cultural and environmental context. These antecedents shape family decisions: responsible digital use, parental mediation, privacy, and the use of social media for education and advocacy, impacting the objective and subjective well-being of the family both positively and negatively. The review highlights theoretical, contextual and methodological gaps including geographical bias towards Western countries, the dominance of cross-sectional studies and limited focus on intergenerational digital literacy.
