Abstract

The aim of this study was to describe critical thinking ability on the fraction division of fifth grade students at SD Negeri Tegalayu Surakarta. This study used qualitative research method, specifically qualitative case study. The subjects of this study were fifth grade students of SD Negeri Tegalayu, totalling 25 students. Data collection techniques in this study included interviews, observation, and documentation. The data validity technique in this study was triangulation that consisted of technical triangulation and source triangulation. The data were analysed by using interactive analytical model of Miles, Huberman, & Saldana. The results of this study showed that the ability to think critically was generally in the low category. The interpretation ability was in the medium category. The analytical ability was in the low category. The evaluation ability was in the low category. The inference ability was in the low category. The indicator of the lowest critical thinking ability was the inference indicator. Thus, this mathematical critical thinking study can be used as a reference for another study in other elementary schools. Besides school and teachers are expected to have the skills to develop students' critical thinking ability.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve student’s critical thinking skills in water cycle material and human activities that influence it by applying the learning cycle model 7e. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted for two cycles. The research subjects were fifth grade students of SD N Pajang II Surakarta in 2018/2019 which amounted to 24 students. Data collection techniques consist of observation, interviews, tests and documentation. The validity test using triangulation. While the analysis of this research data uses an interactive data analysis model by Miles-Huberman. The initial conditions indicate that students' critical thinking skills are 8.34% classically. The results obtained from the first cycle of action in the first learning were 21.74% classically, the second learning increased to 30.44% classically, and the third lesson increased to 40.91% classically. The study continued to the second cycle in the first learning increased to 56.53%, the second learning increased to 77.27% classically, and the third learning had reached 86.96% classically.

Abstract

Increasing the problem solving skills  by applying Missouri Mathematics Project model is the purpose of this research. This research is Classroom Action research with two cycles. Students of the 4th  SD N Setono No.95 Surakarta on the 2019/2020, the subject all of students at class totaling 33 students. Data collection techniques in the form of interview, observation, test, and documentation. Data analysis are source and technique triangulation, and content validity. Analysis of the data used is the Miles-Huberman interactive analysis model. The initial conditions of problem solving skills of 4th students showed 0%. The cycle I resulting in a percentage is 30,3%. The cycle II producing a percentage is 84,84%. Based on the result of the research, it can be conclude that the problem solving skills on 4 th students of SD N Setono No. 95 Surakarta in the 2019/2020 can be improved through the Missouri Mathematics Project model. This research contributed to be used as a reference and be a development in varied learning activities in mathematics subject.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe critical thinking skills in terms of learning styles on the topic of addition and subtraction of fractions among fourth-grade students at SDN Tegalrejo No. 98 in the academic year 2023/2024. This study employs a qualitative research method with a case study design. The subjects are teachers and nine fourth-grade students from SDN Tegalrejo No. 98. Data collection techniques include questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validity is ensured through triangulation of techniques and sources. Data analysis follows Creswell's analytical model. The results indicate that students with kinesthetic and auditory learning styles were only able to fulfill the evaluation and inference indicators. Students with a visual learning style did not meet all four indicators of critical thinking skills, including interpretation, analysis, evaluation, and inference. Therefore, this research is expected to provide additional information for teachers to develop more effective and efficient teaching strategies by considering students learning styles. Additionally, it serves as a reference for further research on mathematics learning. The implication of this research is that critical thinking skills play a crucial role in solving mathematical problems related to addition and substraction of fractions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve HOTS Transfer of Knowledge capabilities on statistical question by applying the Missouri Matematics Project (MMP) learning model. This research is a Classrom Action Research and consist of two cycles. The subject of this study were fourth grade students of SD Negeri Pajang II Surakarta in the 2018/2019 academic year, totaling 26 students. The data collection technique of this study uses interviews, observation, test, and documentation. The data validity test technique of this research is the content validity. The analysis of the data used in this study is Miles-Huberman’s interactive analysis model. The initial condition of HOTS Transfer of Knowledge ability of fourth grade students resulted in completeness of C4 aspects by 7 students, C5 by 2 students, and C6 by 2 students. Cycle 1 meeting 1 completeness aspects of C4 were 13 stuents, C5 were 13 students, and C6 were 12 students. Cycle 1 meeting 2 completness aspects of C4 were 20 students, C5 were 15 students, and C6 were 15 students. Cycle 2 meeting 1 completness aspects of C4 were 21 students, C5 were 20 students, and C6 were 21 students. Cycle 2 meeting 2 completness aspects of C4 were 23 students, C5 were 23 students, and C6 were 22 students.

Abstract

This research is a classroom action research with the aim of increasing HOTS in data presentation material by applying the RME learning model. The subjects of this study were 28 fifth grade students at SDN Bayan No. 216 years 2018 / 2019. The research was carried out in two cycles of action. Data collection techniques used tests, observation and documentation with data analysis, source triangulation and content validity. The percentage of HOTS Ability conditions in class V students in classically in pre-action showed 32.24%, the first cycle in the first learning resulted in a percentage of 42.86%, the second learning was 57.14%. The research continued with the second cycle with the percentage of achievement in the first learning amounting to 78.57%, the second learning was 82.14%.

Abstract

Keterampilan abad 21 yang harus dimiliki peserta didik adalah keterampilan berpikir kritis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dalam pembelajaran pendidikan Pancasila melalui penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe carousel feedback bagi peserta didik sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri Sugihan 04 tahun ajaran 2023/2024 yang berjumlah 20 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan tes, wawancara, dokumentasi dan observasi. Triangulasi teknik dan sumber merupakan metode yang digunakan untuk menguji keabsahan. Analisis data menggunakan analisis interaktif. Kondisi awal menunjukkan presentase ketuntasan tes keterampilan berpikir kritis sebesar 15%, siklus I pertemuan 1 sebesar 35%, dan siklus I pertemuan 2 meningkat menjadi 55%. Pada siklus II pertemuan 1 presentase ketuntasan meningkat menjadi 80%, kemudian pertemuan 2 meningkat menjadi 90%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe carousel feedback dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis pada pembelajaran pendidikan Pancasila pada siswa kelas IV di SD Negeri Sugihan 04.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to improve the problem solving skills of V grade students at SDN Pajang II No. 171 Surakarta in the 2019/2020 academic year through the application of REACT (Relating, Experiencing, Applying, Cooperating, Transferring) learning strategies. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which consists of two cycles. The subjects of this research was teachers and students in V grade, which amounted to 25 students. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, documentation and tests. Data validity uses technical triangulation and source triangulation. Data analysis uses comparative descriptive analysis techniques, critical analysis and interactive analysis of the Miles & Huberman model. The results showed classical completeness of students in pre-action reached was 4%, in the first cycle escalate to 32%, and in the second cycle escalate again to 84%. The conclusion of this research is that the application of the REACT strategy can improve problem solving skills in V grade students of SDN Pajang II No. 171 Surakarta in the 2019/2020 academic year. This research can contribute to scientific development on problem solving skills.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy is the ability to reason and use mathematical concepts to describe and interpret things in context. The study aims to systematically review the literature on factors related to mathematical literacy. The method used in this study is a systematic literature review with procedures including identifying, reviewing, evaluating, and interpreting research. A literature search was carried out via Google Scholar in the 2013–2023 period. The inclusion criteria were Indonesian-language articles that specifically discussed mathematical literacy and its influencing factors. Based on the reviewed articles, this study used four articles that met the requirements. The results of the review show that there are several factors related to mathematical literacy. These factors are classified into internal factors and external factors. The dominant factors that contribute to mathematical literacy are verbal ability as a cognitive aspect and mathematical disposition as a non-cognitive aspect. Thus, these two factors become predictors of mathematical literacy. These two factors can be studied further to determine the extent of their relationship with mathematical literacy. This research is a literature review for research related to factors in mathematical literacy.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve student motivation by implementation of Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning model on multiplication and division learning. The type of this research is class action research that consist of 3 cycles. The subject of this research is 32 students of 2nd grade of SDN Prawit I No.69. Data collection techniques are conducted by questioner, observation, and interview. Data analysis technique that used  is interactive analysis that consist of data collection, data reduction, data display, and verification. To determine the result of student learning motivation, this research used source and method triangulation. The result of this research shows that multiplication and division learning motivation of the students are increase. First cycle result is classical pass percentage reach 37.5%, it increase at second cycle become 68.75%, and in the last cycle reach 84.38%. Based on the data analysis result, the conclusion of this research is Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning model can improve multiplication and division learning motivation of 2nd grade student of SDN Prawit I No.69 in the academic year of 2017/2018. Implication of Teams Games Tournament cooperative learning model was conducted by five steps.
