Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to study the use of e-wallets and its impact on consumptive behavior of studentsof Universitas Wahid Hasyim Semarang. The participants of this study are active students who arecurrently using e-wallets actively in daily life. This study employed a qualitative descriptivemethod in the form of depth interview helped with a study of literature of previous studies on theuse of e-wallets and consumptive behavior. The findings indicate that the use of e-wallets providesenormous benefits of convenience, rapidity, and transaction effectiveness, but also facilitates theemergence of consumptive behavior of students, particularly through impulsive buys fostered bypromotions, cashbacks, and discounts. Besides, the study proves to show that the impact of the useof e-wallets is not definitive, as students showing higher self-control are found to use themrationally and for necessary needs, and students with poor self-control are easily prone toconsumptive behavior excessively. Therefore, the use of e-wallets should not be made a scapegoatfor consumptive behavior, but rather as financial technology tools whose impact is mostlydependent on the person concerned's self-control, and it becomes essential to foster awareness andfinancial discipline among students to provide maximum benefit from using e-wallets withoutcausing any negative effect on personal financial management.

Abstract

Aim: The objective of this study is to obtain the optimum efficiency of Lead (Pb) removal by adsorption using shrimp shells chitosan. Adsorption is one of the alternative ways to treat heavy metal. Various substances can be used as adsorbents for the adsorption process. One of the natural adsorbents that can be utilized is shrimp shells. Methodology and Results: In general, the process of making chitin into chitosan includes demineralization with dilute HCl, deproteinization with dilute NaOH, then deacetylation of chitin using concentrated NaOH. This study would demonstrate the adsorption on artificial waste containing 100 mg/L of Pb using 1 gram of chitosan with variations in pH (4, 5, 6) and time (30, 60, 90 minutes) to determine the effectiveness of chitosan made of shrimp shells in reducing Pb concentration. The results show that the highest removal efficiency of lead was achieved at pH 4 and 90 minutes duration with a removal percentage of 99.88%. Conclusion, significance, and impact study: Chitosan compounds as the results of shrimp shells processing have amine groups (NH2) which are nucleophiles (rich in electrons). It is favorable to be used as biocoagulants or bioadsorbents of lead heavy metal with a removal efficiency of above 90%.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to improve the digital Literacy of rural communities in Indonesia through information technology-based Training. This activity was conducted online and involved 50 participants with a varied basic understanding of digital technology. Interactive training methods using the Zoom application and mentoring via WhatsApp are carried out to ensure participants can understand and practice the training material, especially in social media and e-commerce. The Training results showed a significant improvement in the participants' abilities. Before the Training, only 20% of participants could use social media, and 15% could take advantage of e-commerce. After the Training, this figure increased to 85% and 70%, respectively. Although there are challenges in the form of limited internet access in some regions, the provision of materials that can be accessed offline helps participants in the learning process. This program increases digital Literacy and contributes to improving the local economy through digital marketing of village products. With positive results, this program can be replicated in other regions to empower the community through information technology. This study shows that the right digital training approach can significantly impact Literacy and economic empowerment in rural communities.
