Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi matematika siswa kelas XI pada konten space and shape ditinjau dari tipe kepribadian Myers-briggs. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskripif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI salah satu sekolah negeri di Lombok Barat yang berjumlah 12 siswa, terdiri dari masing-masing 3 siswa dengan tipe kepribadian artisan, guardian, idealist dan rational yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan tiga indikator literasi matematika, yaitu (1) formulate, (2) employ, dan (3) interprete/evaluate. Adapun teknik analisis yang digunakan berupa model analisis interaktif yang terdiri dari data reduction, data display, dan conclusion verification dengan uji keabsahan data berupa metode tringulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa a) kemampuan literasi matematika siswa dengan tipe kepribadian artisan sebagian besar berada di level 4, b) kemampuan literasi matematika siswa dengan tipe kepribadian guardian sebagian besar berada di bawah level 3 namun ada subjek yang dapat mengerjakan soal dengan level 4, c) kemampuan literasi matematika siswa dengan tipe kepirbadian idealist mampu mencapai level 5, d) kemampuan literasi matematika siswa dengan tipe kepribadian rational sebagian besar berada di level 4 walau ada subjek yang mampu mengerjakan soal dengan level 5.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan partisipasi dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran matematika di kelas X.11 SMAN 2 Mataram tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus terdiri dari tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran secara bertahap. Partisipasi belajar siswa dinilai melalui observasi selama proses pembelajaran, sementara hasil belajar siswa dievaluasi melalui tes yang diberikan di akhir setiap siklus.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam partisipasi dan hasil belajar siswa. Pada siklus I, aktivitas siswa berada pada kategori cukup aktif, tetapi meningkat menjadi sangat aktif pada siklus II. Ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa juga menunjukkan peningkatan dari 70% pada siklus I menjadi 85% pada siklus II. Penerapan pembelajaran berbasis masalah dengan media kartu misteri mampu mendorong keterlibatan siswa yang lebih baik dalam pembelajaran. Selain itu, pendekatan ini membantu siswa memahami materi dengan lebih baik dan menciptakan suasana belajar yang interaktif serta menyenangkan.Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang didukung media kartu misteri efektif untuk meningkatkan partisipasi dan hasil belajar siswa dalam matematika. Pendekatan ini direkomendasikan untuk digunakan secara lebih luas sebagai strategi pembelajaran yang inovatif dan berdampak positif pada kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah.

Abstract

The problem of scheduling teaching and learning activities is a problem that occurs at SMAN 1 Aikmel. The problem is that there are several teachers teaching two different subjects at the same time in different classes. This problem will be solved by applying the concept of graph coloring using an algorithm Recursive Largest First. This article presents the application of the concept of graph coloring in preparing a schedule for teaching and learning activities at SMAN 1 Aikmel. Based on the scheduling data, the adjacency matrix of the scheduling graph is obtained. By using an algorithm Recursive Largest First The chromatic number is 3. Apart from that, it is also found that the maximum number of nodes in one color is 23 nodes. This shows that schedules can be made without overlap at SMAN 1 Ailkmel which has 23 rooms.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of spatial intelligence and mathematical communication on the mathematics learning outcomes of class IX students of SMPN 5 Mataram in the 2024/2025 Academic Year. This type of research is quantitative with the ex post facto method. The population in this study were all class IX students of SMPN 5 Mataram in the 2024/2025 academic year with a total of 249 students. The sampling technique used probability sampling so that 1 class was selected, namely class IX B with a total of 31 students. The method of data collection was through giving tests of spatial ability, mathematical communication and mathematics learning outcomes with the material of similarity and congruence, surface area and volume of various curved and flat sided geometric shapes. The data analysis technique used in this study was descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the results of the inferential statistical analysis calculation, the t count value> t table was obtained, namely 6.238> 2.045 so that there was an effect of spatial ability on mathematics learning outcomes. The calculated t value > t table is 2.525 > 2.045 so that there is an influence of mathematical communication on mathematics learning outcomes. The Rxy (R) value is 0.836, sig. value 0.000 < 0.05 and 32.446 > 3.33. There is also an influence of variables X1 and X2 simultaneously on variable Y of 69.9%, which means that there is a positive influence between spatial ability and mathematical communication on students' mathematics learning outcomes with a strong relationship level. So, it can be concluded that there is an influence of spatial ability and mathematical communication on the mathematics learning outcomes of grade IX students of SMPN 5 Mataram in the 2024/2025 academic year.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the use of Canva-based audiovisual learning media in improving students mathematics learning outcomes. This research is classroom action research. The research was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings covering the planning stages, action implementation, observation and reflection. The research subjects were students in class X.9 of SMAN 2 Mataram, totaling 36 students. The data sources used are observations, tests and learning results documents. The data analysis using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the research show that the mathematics learning outcomes of class X.9 students at SMAN 2 Mataram have improved after use of Canva-based audiovisual learning media. These results are shown by an increase in student learning outcomes in each cycle. The increase in students learning outcomes was seen from the results of tests and observations carried out, the results had increased as indicated by the increase in the percentage of classical completeness from the pre-cycle, namely 47%, in the first cycle 75% and increased to 89% in the second cycle.

Abstract

Perhitungan integral merupakan salah satu konsep penting dalam matematika yang sering digunakan untuk menentukan luas area di bawah kurva. Namun, tidak semua fungsi dapat diintegralkan secara analitik karena kompleksitas bentuknya. Oleh karena itu, metode numerik seperti metode Simpson 3/8 dan metode Boole diperlukan sebagai pendekatan untuk memperoleh nilai hampiran dari integral tentu. Kedua metode ini memiliki kelebihan masing-masing dalam hal akurasi dan efisiensi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas metode integral numerik Simpson 3/8 dan metode Boole dalam menentukan luas area di bawah kurva melalui implementasi dalam bahasa pemrograman PHP. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan eksperimen murni dengan mengimplementasikan algoritma kedua metode ke dalam aplikasi berbasis web. Pengujian dilakukan pada berbagai jenis fungsi polinomial, transenden, dan trigonometri—dengan membandingkan hasil pendekatan terhadap nilai eksak. Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan dua aspek utama, yaitu efektivitas (dilihat dari akurasi) dan efisiensi (dilihat dari waktu komputasi). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode Boole memiliki tingkat akurasi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan metode Simpson 3/8. Rata-rata galat yang dihasilkan oleh metode Boole untuk fungsi polinomial, transenden, dan trigonometri masing-masing adalah , , dan . Sebaliknya, metode Simpson 3/8 mencatat galat rata-rata sebesar , , dan 8 pada fungsi-fungsi yang sama. Di sisi lain, metode Simpson 3/8 lebih efisien dalam hal waktu eksekusi, dengan rentang waktu antara 0,49200 ms hingga 0,605625 ms, dibandingkan metode Boole yang membutuhkan waktu antara 0,475125 ms hingga 0,776625 ms. Selisih waktu ini, meskipun kecil, menunjukkan bahwa Simpson 3/8 lebih cocok digunakan pada sistem yang memerlukan kecepatan respons tinggi.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The research subjects were 36 students of Class X.2 at SMAN 5 Mataram in the 2024/2025 academic year. The research was conducted as Classroom Action Research (CAR) over two cycles, with each cycle consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. Data were collected through learning outcome tests at each stage: pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle 2, and analyzed quantitatively. The results showed an increase in the average student learning outcomes from 5,5% in the pre-cycle, to 38,9% in cycle I, and 80,5% in cycle 2. This improvement indicates that the implementation of the PBL model is effective in enhancing students' mathematics learning outcomes. These findings highlight the importance of applying PBL to create student-centered learning that can meaningful and contextual in the processes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan learning obstacle siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 6 Mataram tahun ajaran 2024/2025 dalam menyelesaikan soal keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi (KBT) materi perbandingan. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kualitatif, dengan subjek 6 siswa kelas VII-A, masing-masing 2 siswa dari kategori KBT tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Data diperoleh dari hasil tes KBT materi perbandingan dan wawancara, lalu dianalisis menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan learning obstacle siswa dengan KBT kategori tinggi yakni dalam tahap konseptual 2%, prosedural 4%, dan teknik 4%; siswa dengan KBT kategori sedang dalam tahap konseptual 40%, prosedural 43%, dan teknik 5%; dan siswa dengan KBT kategori rendah dalam tahap konseptual 64%, prosedural 66%, dan teknik 5%. Learning obstacle siswa dengan KBT kategori tinggi berupa tidak mencantumkan informasi sebagai dasar pengambilan keputusan, tidak menuliskan langkah penyelesaian secara lengkap, dan kurang tepat dalam melakukan pembagian bilangan pecahan. Siswa dengan KBT kategori sedang cenderung kurang tepat dalam menentukan bukti sebagai dasar keputusan, membuat model atau strategi penyelesaian masalah, dan menghitung jarak. Adapun siswa dengan KBT kategori rendah tidak dapat menentukan hubungan antara tiap informasi, merancang model atau strategi penyelesaian masalah, serta melakukan pembagian bilangan desimal.

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the mathematical representation abilities of eighth-grade students at SMPN 13 Mataram on the topic of Two-Variabel Linear Equation Systems (SPLDV), viewed from the introvert and extrovert personality types. A qualitative research method was used with descriptive approach. The subjects were chosen using purposive sampling and involved 4 students selected based on personality questionnaires and mathematical representation ability tests, followed by interview. Data was collected through non-tes instruments Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI), essay questions on mathematical representation ability test and interviews which is then analyzed descriptively to find out the differences in verbal, symbolic and visual representation abilities between introvert and extrovert students. The data analysis uses the interactive analysis model from Miles & Huberman. The results showed that introvert students have very good verbal and symbolic representation skills, but still weak in visual representation because none of them could answer correctly. Extrovert students also have good verbal and symbolic representation skills, more confident in answering, but less detailed and tend to rush. Just like introvert, extrovert students also couldn’t represent SPLDV visually in the right way. The main difficulty for both personality types is in converting the information in the problem into a visual representation caused by a lack of experience and practice in drawing graphs.

Abstract

Mathematical problems frequently arise in various scientific fields, particularly in determining the roots of nonlinear functions. Since complex nonlinear functions are often difficult to solve analytically, numerical methods are commonly used as an alternative approach. This article aims to compare the number of iterations and the error levels produced by the Newton-Raphson and Steffensen methods. The tests were conducted on three types of functions, polynomial functions of the form a1xn+a2xn-1+...+amx0, exponential functions of the form aebx+d+t and trigonometric functions of the form a0sin(b0x)+a1cos(b1x)+a2. For each type, three different functions were used, and each was tested with three different initial guesses. The results show that, in terms of iteration count, the Newton-Raphson method outperformed the Steffensen method for polynomial and trigonometric functions by 84% and 62%, respectively, while for exponential functions, the Steffensen method was superior by 12%. In terms of error, the Newton-Raphson method yielded smaller errors across all function types, with improvements of 92%, 84%, and 98% for polynomial, exponential, and trigonometric functions, respectively, compared to the Steffensen method.
