Abstract

This study aims to: 1) Describe the background of foster children in the Raudhatul Yatama Orphanage, Kertak Hanyar District, Banjar Regency. 2) Describe the parenting style of foster children at the Raudhatul Yatama Orphanage, Kertak Hanyar District, Banjar Regency. 3) Describe the contribution of parental parenting to social studies education. This study uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. Test the validity of the data using triangulation. The results of the study were that children living in the Raudhatul Yatama Orphanage, Kertak Hanyar District, Banjar Regency came from various diverse backgrounds, including orphans, orphans, underprivileged, and abandoned children. This orphanage accepts 30 children with various age ranges. Data collection is expected to help orphanages to understand the needs and obstacles faced by these children.  The orphanage management pays attention to children from these backgrounds. The orphanage is committed to providing the best care and education to all foster children, regardless of their family origin or background.

Abstract

The skills of junior high school social studies teachers in Banjarbaru City must be improved. Therefore, the Lambung Mangkurat University service team collaborated with MGMP IPS through a partnership program. The aim is to improve their ability to develop classroom action research (PTK) in that place. The purpose of this training is to improve teachers' ability to design PTK proposals in accordance with the needs of learning improvement. The training participants totaled 28 teachers, and the service methods used included lectures, interactive discussions, and PTK proposal clinic training. As a result of the training, junior high school social studies teachers who are members of MGMP IPS Banjarbaru City made several PTK proposals. In summary, teachers who attended the training were able to make a class action research proposal.

Abstract

Interaksi sosial merupakan kunci dari semua kehidupan sosial, oleh karenanya tanpa interaksi tidak akan mungkin ada kehidupan bersama. Etnis Tionghoa dan Etnis Madura yang bermukim di Kelurahan Gedang pada awalnya adalah pendatang. Mereka bermigrasi ke daerah ini karena faktor ekonomi. Seiring berjalannya waktu etnis Tionghoa dan etnis Madura menjadi etnis yang dominan di Kelurahan Gedang. Adanya perbedaan etnis ini tidak menghalangi interaksi antar keduanya. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui interaksi sosial antara etnis Tionghoa dan etnis Madura di Kelurahan Gedang Kota Banjarmasin.Artikel ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif. Teknik dalam pengumpulan datanya dilakukan dengan cara wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa etnis Tionghoa dan etnis Madura memiliki paguyuban yang berfungsi sebagai alat pemersatu dan pemecah masalah, apabila terjadi pertikaian diantara mereka. Interaksi sosial antara etnis Tionghoa dan etnis Madura terjalin dalam bentuk komunikasi sosial yakni dengan selalu berusaha bercengkrama dengan tetangganya. Kerjasama di bidang ekonomi, etnis Tionghoa yang memiliki kekuatan ekonomi membuka peluang ekonomi bagi etnis Madura. Kerjasama di bidang sosial, dalam berinteraksi mereka tidak membedakan etnis dan agama, mereka saling menghargai dan saling membantu dalam kehidupan bertetangga. Etnis Tionghoa juga tidak sungkan memberikan bantuan ekonomi secara langsung kepada etnis Madura yang mengalami kesulitan di bidang ekonomi. Asimilasi juga dijadikan satu diantara interaksi sosial antar etnis Tionghoa dan etnis Madura di Kelurahan Gedang.

Abstract

Remaja adalah bagian dari agen perubahan. Keberadaan remaja dengan berbagai aktivitasnya merupakan peluang sekaligus tantangan bagi eksistensi kehidupan masyarakat. Penelitian tentang aktivitas kelompok sosial remaja di Kelurahan Sungai Jingah Banjarmasin ini dimaksudkan untuk memberikan gambaran tentang kontribusi remaja terhadap kehidupan sosial. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tiga tahap yaitu observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi. Analisis data dimulai dengan reduksi data, penyajian, dan verifikasi. Hasil penelitian memastikan bahwa 1) Terdapat dua kelompok sosial remaja di bantaran Sungai Kelurahan Sungai Jingah Kota Banjarmasin, yaitu kelompok remaja Al-Falah dan kelompok remaja sadar wisata. 2) Kegiatan kelompok sosial remaja di bantaran Sungai Kelurahan Sungai Jingah Kota Banjarmasin meliputi dua aspek yaitu aspek religi dan ekonomi. Berbagai kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh kelompok sosial remaja ini merupakan sarana untuk melibatkan remaja secara positif dalam kehidupan sosial masyarakat bantaran sungai. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan memberikan kontribusi bagi pemberdayaan peran remaja bagi kehidupan masyarakat.

Abstract

Nilai nasionalisme dapat digambarkan pada sosok pahlawan. Adapun pahlawan yang mampu diteladani dan mempunyai nilai nasionalisme satu diantaranya ialah K.H. Idham Chalid. Artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan nilai nasionalisme yang muncul dari sosok Dr. K.H. Idham Chalid. Hal ini dimaksudkan agar pembaca dapat meneladani keberadaan toko pahlawan. Strategi dalam pencarian literatur yang digunakan oleh peneliti ialah, peneliti melakukan pencarian, menyeleksi, dan memilih informasi mana yang diperlukan dari sekian banyaknya informasi yang sudah terbit terlebih dahulu. Adapun hasil dari literatur review yang dilakukan penulis K.H. Idham Chalid merupakan seorang ulama sekaligus politisi di masa orde lama dan baru. Beliau sosok pahlawan nasional yang terlahir dari Kalimantan Selatan tepatnya di Setui. Nilai nasionalisme yang dimiliki K.H. Idham Chalid yaitu religius, rela berkorban, cinta tanah air, dan bangga sebagai bangsa Indonesia. Terkait dengan keteladanan nilai nasionalisme dari ketokohan K.H. Idham Chalid tentunya ideal untuk diintegrasikan dalam pendidikan global. Namun, pendidikan global yang demikian mengarah pada penguatan pendidikan nilai.

Abstract

Klotok as a river transportation mode is interesting to study. However, not much research focuses on how the role of klotok as a mode of transportation can attract tourists. Klotok becomes an icon as a river tourism icon because it presents a uniqueness for the audience. This study aims to describe how the role of klotok and its existence for the Banjar community. Interviews were conducted with three community groups, namely: klotok owners, traders, and visitors to the Siring Menara Pandang tourist destination. This is intended to provide a complete description of the function of klotok as a mode of water transportation, especially in river areas. The results of the study describe how klotok as a mode of water transportation is moored on the edge of the Martapura River, precisely Siring Menara Pandang. The choice of location is because Siring Menara Pandang is a public space that is used as well as a tourist destination. Revitalizing the river by prioritizing the river as a selling price to tourists has positioned klotok as a vital mode of transportation. Based on its development, klotok not only acts as a mode of river transportation but also as a choice of entertainment attractions for river tourism

Abstract

Guru zaman milenial perlu memiliki tingkat kecakapan teknologi yang tinggi agar dapat menjalankan pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman. Saat ini Permasalahan mitra adalah rendahnya kemampuan guru-guru IPS dalam menyusun bahan ajar dengan menggunakan aplikasi flipbook makers baik yang dikeluarkan oleh KVIsoft ataupun yang flipbook makers untuk pdf nantinya. Untuk mengatasi persoalan rendahnya kemampuan guru Sekolah Mengengah Pertama khususnya mata pelajaran IPS yang tidak semuanya memahami konteks pemanfaatan teknologi itu sendiri menjadi tantangan tersendiri oleh tim untuk mensosialiasikan dalam menyusun bahan ajar dengan menggunakan aplikasi flipbook, maka tujuan pelaksanaan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat dengan cara memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan kemampuan guru mata Pelajaran IPS dalam menyusun bahan ajar dengan menggunakan aplikasi berbasis android. Metode yang digunakan pada Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat adalah dengan pada tahap pertama kegiatan ini: Tahap Perencanaan, Tahap Pelaksanaan dan Tahap Evaluasi. Adapun hasil kegiatan dari Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat yaitu: a. Peningkatan pemahaman guru tentang pentingnya kearifan lokal dalam pembelajaran IPS; b. Peningkatan keterampilan guru dalam menggunakan aplikasi Android untuk pembelajaran terutama dalam pemanfaatan Teknologi dan Informasi dalam pembelajaran IPS di kelas; c. Terciptanya rencana tindak lanjut untuk implementasi media pembelajaran berbasis aplikasi Android di sekolah masing-masing.

Abstract

Street vendors play a crucial role in the local economy but are often overlooked due to the negative stigma surrounding their presence. Despite this, they view their work as honorable and contribute significantly to the welfare of the local community. This study aims to examine the characteristics of street vendors (PKL) in the Trans Kalimantan Handil Bakti Road area, a hub for trade activities due to its high accessibility and position as a crossroads between cities. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed, and data were collected through observation, `interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal significant variations in the characteristics of street vendors, including: (1) Types of Commodities: Vendors offer a wide range of products, including ready-to-eat food, non-food items, and services. (2) Scale of Operations: The scale of operations is relatively large, driven by high traffic and vibrant local activity. (3) Location: The area is strategically positioned at an intercity crossroads, attracting both locals and travelers. (4) Distribution Patterns: Vendors typically follow an elongated distribution pattern along the road. (5) Nature of Operations: Most vendors fall into the categories of semi-sedentary and itinerant traders. (6) Operating Hours: Vendors usually begin trading around 3:00–4:00 PM and continue until midnight. These findings highlight the dynamic nature of street vending in this area, emphasizing its strategic importance and the diversity of services offered.

Abstract

Putting Global Education Through Transcript Based Lesson Analyes (TBLA) in Higher Education. Objectives: this research is to analyze conversations related to corruption and poverty. The two themes are: This research describes global educational practices that focus on achieving a global perspective in Transdisciplinary and Cross-Discipline Approaches in Social Studies Learning. Methods: This study uses a qualitative method as a research approach. The research was conducted from September 26 to October 10, 2021. Miles and Huberman's interactive model reduces interview data, presents research results in a descriptive narrative manner, and concludes research results. Findings: describing the differences in conversations that occurred in cycle one and cycle two, which the lecturer understood because students were reluctant to speak. The reluctance to express opinions is due to limited mastery of the material and fear of interpretation. Therefore, based on cycle one, the lecturer provides brainstorming by conveying the importance of expressing opinions in learning. Conclusion: of the study refers to the comparison of data in cycles one and two. Lecturers have the main role to provide brainstorming by conveying the importance of expressing opinions. Abstract

The lack of contextual and environmentally relevant learning approaches, such as place-based pedagogy, causes students to lack understanding of the importance of environmental conservation in real life. This article examines the place-based pedagogy approach in increasing students' awareness and participation in environmental conservation, focusing on the habitat of the Proboscis Monkey. The study used qualitative methods to evaluate the impact of an educational approach that connects learning to the local geographic, cultural, and ecological context. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, involving students, lecturers, and the Indonesian Proboscis Monkey Friends Foundation. Data analysis was conducted thematically with triangulation to ensure validity. The results showed that the place-based pedagogy approach significantly increased students' ecological awareness, encouraged direct involvement in conservation, and built emotional connections with the local environment. The study recommends the integration of the place-based approach into the higher education curriculum, with a focus on practical activities such as field research, community service projects, and seminars with conservation practitioners. In conclusion, the place-based pedagogy approach can effectively increase students' awareness and involvement in environmental conservation. The implications of this research include the need to strengthen collaboration between universities and local communities, develop inclusive and contextual education policies.
