Abstract

The purpose of the research was to determine the effectiveness of guided discovery learning model for the skills of inquiry, metacognition skills, and results of cognitive learning outcome of students. The research was non-equivalent control group design in the eighth grade students of MTsN Panglungan Jombang conducted on 12th until 25th May, 2015. Some instruments to support this study were the instrument of inquiry skills which consisted of rubric of learning process and product, assessment of metacognition skills in the form of initial and final test integrated with the cognitive achievement test, and measurement of students’ cognitive learning outcomes using essay test. Data were tabulated and analysed by t- test independent using the SPSS16 program for windows 2007. This research showed that: (1) there were differences in the skills of inquiry process between the control and the treatment group (α = 0.01 <0.05), (2) there was a difference between the product of inquiry skills (α = 0.015 <0.05 ), (3) metacognition skills in the experimental class and the class dick final test results indicate that there were significant differences grade between control and treatment (α = 0.040 <0.05), (4) results of students’ cognitive final test indicated that there was a significant difference from the control and treatment (α = 0.003 <0.05). It can be concluded that guided discovery learning model can improve the skills of inquiry processes and products, metacognition skills, and results of students’ cognitive learning.Keywords: guided discovery, inkuri skills, metacognition skills, results of cognitive learning

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui optimasi volume Acetobacter xylinum terhadap produktifitas nata de coco pada media minimum. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan, A0 = 0 ml starter, A1 = ditambahkan 25 ml starter, A2 =  ditambahkan 50 ml starter, A3 = ditambahkan 75 ml starter, A4 =  ditambahkan 100 ml starter per 1000 mL media minimum (air kelapa 1000 mL, cuka 10 mL, dan gula pasir 100 gram). Data penelitian diperoleh: tebal nata de coco tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan A4 dan berat maksimal pada perlakuan A4. Ada signifikasi tebal nata de coco antar perlakuan (Fhit 5,0069 > Ftab 2,87 pada taraf signifikan 5%) serta ada signifikasi berat nata de coco antar perlakuan (Fhit 1127,167 > Ftab 2,87 dengan taraf signifikan 5%). Di samping itu, juga diperoleh korelasi positif antara tebal dengan berat nata de coco (R2=0,9947 dan R=0,9973) dan hasil tersebut diperoleh pada perlakuan A4.   Kata Kunci: Acetobacter xylinum, tebal, berat, nata de coco,

Abstract

Abstract- This research was aimed to describe the kinds of Orchidaceae ephypitic in Ubalan Kediri. This research was conducted by describtive using explore method, started at Julii up to September 2013. Sampel were colected and to determine. Data shown that there were six specieses. They were Dendrobium crumenaatum  Swartz, Cymbidium biclolor (Lind.) Swartz, Rhynchostylis retusa  (Lind.) BI, Dendrobium secundum (BI.) Lind., Dendrobium anosmum Lind., dan Dendrobium tetrodon Ruhb.f. Based on karacters of flower analysis, both of R. retusa  (Lind.) Abstract

The aims of this research was amied the effect of Guided Inquiry studying models toward skills of inquiry and metacognitive students. The kind of this research uses quasi experimen with design of non-equivalent control group design for students of XI Science grade SMAN 6 Kediri on 7 to 29 May 2015. Instrument that uses for support this research is measurement of inquiry skill used by assessment rubric in inquiry skills of process and product, along with measurement of metakognition skills in type pretest and postest form that integrated of the result of kognitiive studying. Data was tabulated and then was analyzed with spss 16 for windows 2007 program.  The research shown that: (1) there is the different of process and product inquiry skills between control group and treatment (α=0,026<0,05 and α=0,01<0,05), (2) there is the different of metakognition skills on control group and treatment (α= 0,000<0,05). The conclusion of this research is guided inquiry studying models affected skills of inquiry and metacognition students of XI Science grade SMAN 6 Kediri.Keywords:guided inquiry, inquiry skills, metacognition skills

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Respon perkecambahan yang berbeda pada tiap tanaman pangan merupakan fase krusial tanaman dalam merespon kondisi margin lingkungannya, termasuk kondisi berkadar garam. Kajian untuk mengetahui respon Solanum melongena pada fase perkecambahan terhadap paparan NaCl telah dilakukan dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Botani, Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri, Februari-Maret 2012, dengan desain RAL.  Paparan NaCl diberikan pada konsentrasi 0% (kontrol), 5%, 10%, 15%, dan 20% dan data diambil pada 13 hst secara destruktif untuk diamati dan dianalisis dengan Anova One Way dilanjutkan uji Duncan 5%. Biji koleksi ditanam pada media liat berpasir steril dan disiram tiap 2 hari sekali (50 mL/ pot), pada suhu 27-28OC, 4000-6000 lux, v-angin 0-1 m/s. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) kecepatan perkecambahan tertinggi pada perlakuan % dan terendah pada 20%; (2) semua perlakuan tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap panjang hipokotil, akar primer, dan biomassa kecambah; (3) rata-rata kecepatan pertumbuhan kecambah optimal pada perlakuan 5%; (4) tipe perkecambahan epigeal; (5) testa terangkat jelas dari media pada umur 3-5 hst; (6) warna kotiledon hijau dan hipokotil putih terang pada umur 13 hst pada semua perlakuan; (7) arah tumbuh erectus, tegar, kotiledon terbuka sempurna dan opposita.   Kata kunci: Solanum melongena, perkecambahan, NaCl.

Abstract

Oxalate is one of the plant metabolites. Oxalate can enter into the formation of both bio-soluble and insoluble oxalate in the some plants. Some plant which containing oxalates has been a good source of certain minerals, vitamins, dietary fiber, and some antioxidant phytochemicals. Most of vegetables are usually consumed both as a raw and or after cooking. On the other hand, oxalate can accumulate in the renal glomeroli and can lead to the formation of kidney stones and renal disorders. Besides that, the size, location, accumulation and formation oxalate acid to be calcium oxalate crystals in some vegetables may be affected by physical, chemical, and biological condition such us temperature, light exposure, pressure, time harvesting, pH, ion concentration, and macro and or micro ratio of field. This paper was aimed to describe: (1) distribution and formation of oxalate in some part of plants, (2) some methods how to reduce oxalates contents but still provided some good nutrition to healthy, (3) differences of the cultivation methods on oxalates content in some vegetables, in order to look for suitable cultivating method of vegetables.                 Key words: calcium oxalate, crystals, reduction, distribution, and formation
