Abstract

Upaya menanamkan keterampilan ilmiah kepada mahasiswa calon pendidik perlu dilakukan, tidak hanya pada mata kuliah keilmuan Biologi saja namun, juga pada mata kuliah tentang kependidikan.  Melalui upaya tersebut, diharapkan mahasiswa memiliki sikap – sikap yang positif dalam melaksanakan tugas dan tanggung jawabnya ssebagai seorang pendidik. MKPBM I merupakan mata kuliah wajib yang bertujuan untuk membekali mahasiswa agar memiliki pemahaman yang utuh tentang dinamika sains, lingkungan, teknologi, dan masyarakat. Oleh karena itu, pembelajaran berbasis riset pada perkuliahan MKPBM I perlu dikaji lebih lanjut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan mulai Maret – Juni 2013 pada perkuliahan MKPBM I. Terdapat 18 kelompok terdiri 4-5 mahasiswa dengan pemilihan topik dan tempat penelitian yang diminati mahasiswa yaitu SD, SMP, SMA baik negeri maupun mandiri. Penilaian dilakukan terhadap presentasi dan naskah laporan hasil penelitian. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif dan deskriptif. Aspek yang dinilai adalah keterampilan menyusun dan mengorganisasi bagian – bagian laporan yang terdiri dari halaman muka; mendeskripsikan urgensi penelitian; kajian pustaka; metode penelitian; hasil dan pembahsan; simpulan dan rekomendasi, daftar pustaka dan lampiran. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan dalam mendeskripsikan hasil dan pembahasan serta menyusun simpulan maupun rekomendasi masih memerlukan pembinaan lebih lanjut jika dibandingkan aspek penilaian lainnya.  Kata – kata kunci: keterampilan ilmiah, MKPBM I, pembelajaran berbasis riset.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efisiensi fitoremediasi  air terkontaminasi Cu  dengan menggunakan  Salvinia molesta . Konsentrasi Cu yang digunakan yaitu 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 dan 5 ppm dengan waktu pemaparan selama 33 hari. Pengukuran Cu pada air dilakukan dengan metode AAS. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin banyak konsentrasi Cu maka nilai efisiensinya semakin menurun dengan hasil efisiensi pada setiap konsentrasi yaitu 97,87%; 81,28%; 50%; 35,31% dan 33,33% secara berurutan 1, 2, 3, 4 dan 5 ppm paparan Cu, sehingga jumlah inokulum  perlu disesuaikan seiring dengan kenaikan konsentrasi Cu. Abstract

ABSTRAK   Terbatasnya beberapa daya dukung satuan pendidikan, pembelajaran lingkungan hidup pada jenjang dasar di Kota Kediri masih dilaksanakan secara konvesional. Selain itu, kajian penggunaan kartu bridge dalam dunia pendidikan belum banyak dilakukan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menransformasikan fungsi kartu bridge menjadi media edukasi penanaman nilai lingkungan hidup untuk peserta didik sekolah dasar kelas 4 pada materi saling ketergantungan antar makhluk hidup dengan lingkungannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif - kualitatif. Sintesis produk diawali dari studi kasus yang dilanjutkan uji coba satu kali di SDN Mojoroto I, Kediri. Produk diujicobakan dan disempurnakan sebanyak tiga kali, pada tiga sekolah dasar berbeda di Kota Kediri (SDN Mojoroto II, SDN Blabak III, SDN Rejomulyo). Efektifitas metode diketahui dengan menggunakan indikator tes ranah kognitif dan afektif melalui pre dan post test, kemudian dianalisis dengan uji t berpasangan. Data ranah psikomotor diperoleh dengan observasi non partisipan dan terstruktur, selanjutnya dianalisis dengan membandingkan skor perolehan dengan skor kriterium kemudian dibandingkan dengan KKM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) nilai tes ranah kognitif (df=11, n=12) pada tahap pengujian I tidak signifikan (thit 1,185< ttabel 1,796), sedangkan tahap II dan III ada perbedaan yang signikan (secara berurutan: thit 2,4391 > ttabel 1,796 dan thit 2,3592 > ttabel 1,796) dengan rata-rata N-Gain tahap I, II, III sebesar 0,02; 0,08; dan 0,15; (2) hasil tes ranah afektif (df=11,n=12) pada tahap I, II, dan III menunjukkan tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan (pada ttabel 1,796) secara berurutan: 0,4939; 1,4776; 0,8013, sedangkan N-Gain nya berurutan 0; 0,08; 0,06; (3) ketuntasan ranah psikomotor  tahap I, II, III sebesar 85%, 85%, 83%. Adapun rata-rata validasi metode yang dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali sebesar 97,53. Kompleksitas aspek-aspek pembentukan nilai pada ranah afektif peserta didik menjadi salah satu faktor bahwa produk ini belum memberikan hasil yang lebih optimal pada ranah afektif.   Kata kunci:  bridge card game, pembelajaran lingkungan hidup, siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Learning in the SMP Pawyatan Daha 2 Kediri with multistrategi. This condition causes the social interaction of students, students' awareness in solving the problem and apply the concepts learned in the real world are underdeveloped. In response to these problems applied learning model based PBL local materials. The expected application of the model is more active students to inquire and interact actively to the problems around them, causing a deep impression in learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of PBL model’s local materials based to metacognition skills, inquiry skills and social skills and eighth grade students of SMP Pawiyatan Daha 2 Kediri. This study is a quasi experimental design with non-equivalent control group design that uses the class as a control (multistrategi) and one class as the experiment (PBL). Used several instruments to support this research that metacognition skills measurement using metacognition skills assessment rubric in the form of pretest and posttest are integrated on cognitive achievement test, measuring inquiry skills such as observation sheets, measuring social skills of students in the form of a questionnaire. Data metacognition skills and inquiry skills were tabulated and analyzed using SPSS 16 for windows parametric t-test analysis and social skills using descriptive analysis. This study shows that: (1) there are differences posttest in metacognition skills in the experimental class and control class (t.hit = 2.501> 2.00665), (2) with a control group of inquiry skills experiment (t.hit = 3.130> 2.00665), (3) social skills showed that the experimental class better than the control class. It was concluded that the model PBL locally based material (utilizing the materials and tools around the student) is effective for improving metacognition skills, inquiry skills and social skills class VIII SMP Pawyatan Daha 2 Kediri.Keywords: Problem-based learning, metacognition skills, inquiry skills, social skills

Abstract

This study was aimed to explore the age appropriate of callus which forming cell suspension in liquid culture. T. paniculatum leaf explants planted on solid MS medium with the addition of 2 ppm of 2,4 D and 1 ppm kinetin. Callus was on 3, 4, 5, and 6 weeks moved separately in 50 mL of liquid MS with 1 ppm 2,4 D and 1 ppm kinetin, agitated at 100 rpm for six days in absolute dark conditions (25 ± 1oC). Dry biomass and total saponins were measured by the Hu method. Callus on 4-week-old callus has the highest biomass (0.16 x 10-3 g), but the highest levels of saponins derived callus at the age of 5 weeks (17.45 ppm). Keywords: biomassa, callus age, total saponin, Talinum paniculatum, cell agregat

Abstract

The research was aimed to know the implementation of PBL based LM through LS to improve metacognitive skill. It was determined using metacognitive skill rubric on 6 categories. Inquiry skill was measured using observation checklist and devided into 5 categories. Cognitive learning outcomes was measured by essay test and  compared using KKM. This research was conducted by collaboration classroom action research and lesson study.  This research consisted of two cycles and started in March to April 2015. The result of this research shown that student metacognitive skill increased from first cycles to seconds cycles and inquiry skills of students increase in both categories from 3.33% to 46,67%, while the yet catogory was decreased from 30% to 20%, Cognitive learning outcomes increased from 52% to 76,77%.Keywords: Problem Based Learning, Local Materials, Lesson Study, Inquiry Skill, Metacognitive Skill

Abstract

This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of  problem based learning design study on the motivation skills, of inquiry and scientific argumentation skills. This is the type of study design non-equivalent control group design in class VII SMPN 1 Grogol Kediri on 12 up to 23 May 2015 on  the material changes and  environmental pollutan. Used some of the instruments to support research that motivation  questionnaire and inquiry skill rubric (process and product).  And rubric scientific argumentation skills are integrated in the cognitive achievement tes. Data tabulated later in the analysis using the program SPSS 16 for windows 2007. The study is showed that: 1) students motivation treatment group (80%) higher than the control group (70%); 2) inquiry skills of the control group with the treatment process is the same (α= 0,181>0,05) but the product of inquiry skills between the two group differed (α= 0,01<0,05); 3) ANACOVA test study showed that the skills of scientific argument between the treatment group and the control group is different (α=0,000<0,05). Concluded that the model of problem-based learning can increase learning motivation, skills of inquiry, the ability of the scientific arguments..Keywords: PBL, motivation to learn, skills of inquiry, scientific argumentation skills

Abstract

ABSTRAK   Arsitektur akar memiliki arti penting sebagai salah satu bentuk adaptasi tanaman dalam merespon kondisi lingkungan yang ekstrem, termasuk pada kondisi salin. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh cekaman salinitas terhadap morfologi akar Solanum melongena varietas Kopek sebagai referensi kajian awal pengembangan budi daya tanaman sayur tropis lokal pada lahan salin. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di rumah kaca Biologi, Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri (kondisi: 4700-6000 lux pada tanah ladang steril, liat berpasir, v-angin 0-1 m/s, 67 mdpl, pH media 6-6,8), Februari- Mei 2012 dengan desain Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Perlakuan 0% (0-1 ds/m), 5% (2-3 ds/m), 10% (8-10 ds/m), 15% (14-16 ds/m) NaCl (dalam 50 mL air penyiraman/pot/2 hari yang mengandung pupuk green tonic 3 g/L (masing-masing 5 ulangan/perlakuan). Akar dipanen dengan metode destruktif pada 63 hst, diamati, dianalisis kuantitatif-kualitatif, dan didokumentasi sesuai parameter morfologi yang ditentukan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) termasuk akar tunggang; (2) bertipe  ramosus; (3) jumlah cabang dan rata-rata panjang akar rambut lebih tinggi pada perlakuan 5%, namun semakin tinggi tingkat cekaman (10 dan 15%) semakin rendah rata-rata panjang akar pokok, jumlah maupun panjang rata-rata cabang akar tingkat I, II, dan III dan berat konstan akar (dw); (4) arah tumbuh akar pokok geotropisme positif bersama rambut-rambut akarnya pada semua perlakuan; arah tumbuh cabang tingkat I kearah samping (dengan kisaran 20-35O dari garis horizontal medium); cabang tingkat II dan III relatif tidak beraturan (ke segala arah) arah tumbuhnya; (5) warna akar pokok dan cabang tingkat I coklat tua, warna cabang tingkat III beserta rambut-rambut akar yang tumbuh dari akar pokok, cabang tingkat I, II, dan III putih coklat muda; (6) akar pokok lebih kaku dibanding cabang-cabangnya; (7)  panjang akar pokok lebih dominan dibanding cabangnya, panjang semakin berkurang seiring tingkat cemakan (rata-rata berkurang 1,78 cm/ tanaman).   Kata kunci:  cekaman salinitas, morfologi akar, terung kopek

Abstract

Biology teachers are expected to have competence of 21st century skills, including mastering aspects of genetic material that continues to be advented. Therefore, studies that aim to empower genetic study needs to be done. This study aimed to describe some of the obstacles encountered during the course of genetics for prospective teachers UNP Biology in Kediri to be immediately followed up. This research was a case study, conducted by participant observation for three academic years (2013 - 2015) in the lecture class genetics. This study shown that the unavailability of relevant teaching materials, genetics practices were not supported of the concept, yet supported tools - genomic analysis, and lecturing genetics have not utilized the development of genomic data base that continues to grow. This condition causes the students still have misconceptions about the structure of the genetic structure, the regulation of gene expression, mutation, and recombination of genes.Keywords: genetics, biology teachers, program evaluation

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to determine the effectiveness of guided discovery learning model for the skills of inquiry, metacognition skills, and results of cognitive learning outcome of students. The research was non-equivalent control group design in the eighth grade students of MTsN Panglungan Jombang conducted on 12th until 25th May, 2015. Some instruments to support this study were the instrument of inquiry skills which consisted of rubric of learning process and product, assessment of metacognition skills in the form of initial and final test integrated with the cognitive achievement test, and measurement of students’ cognitive learning outcomes using essay test. Data were tabulated and analysed by t- test independent using the SPSS16 program for windows 2007. This research showed that: (1) there were differences in the skills of inquiry process between the control and the treatment group (α = 0.01 <0.05), (2) there was a difference between the product of inquiry skills (α = 0.015 <0.05 ), (3) metacognition skills in the experimental class and the class dick final test results indicate that there were significant differences grade between control and treatment (α = 0.040 <0.05), (4) results of students’ cognitive final test indicated that there was a significant difference from the control and treatment (α = 0.003 <0.05). It can be concluded that guided discovery learning model can improve the skills of inquiry processes and products, metacognition skills, and results of students’ cognitive learning.Keywords: guided discovery, inkuri skills, metacognition skills, results of cognitive learning
