Abstract

Instilling moral values in elementary school students is an important foundation in the formation of the character of the younger generation. Civic Education, as one of the compulsory subjects in elementary school, has great potential in instilling moral and ethical values in students. However, the effectiveness of Civic Education in achieving this goal still needs to be studied further. This research method is a conceptual qualitative research using the Library Research method, which is carried out by collecting Secondary Data in the form of data from scientific articles or scientific papers, research journals, and reports related to the chosen topic. The results of the study indicate that Civic Education has a significant role in instilling moral values in elementary school students. The effectiveness of instilling these values is influenced by several factors, including: (1) interactive and experience-based learning methods, (2) teacher role models in implementing moral values, (3) integration of moral values in daily activities at school, and (4) collaboration between schools and parents in strengthening the values taught. Civic Education has proven to be effective in instilling moral values in elementary school students. However, this success depends on a holistic approach involving various parties and the right learning methods. This study recommends the need to develop a more contextual civics curriculum and improve teacher competence in integrating moral values in learning.

Abstract

In order to eliminate the hubris that frequently arises, value education helps students comprehend, absorb, and make the appropriate decisions in a variety of personal, family, community, and state challenges. The value inculcation strategy places a strong emphasis on forming pupils' character through the instillation of societal ideals. Character education taught by teachers emphasizes the importance of morality, good attitudes, and actions in children. The people of Indonesia now require character education that upholds Pancasila ideals, specifically the qualities of piety, honesty, compassion, ethics, and civility. Students' opinions on a variety of topics and from a variety of angles are shaped by character education. Here, Pancasila education plays a key role in promoting the virtues of model behavior in being polite and courteous by strengthening students' religious inclinations, offering guidance, and instructing elementary school pupils in obedience, following social norms, respecting democracy, the nation, and the environment, among other things. Observations and interviews are used in this descriptive-social study design. As a result, information about the community's environmental circumstances and common issues faced by parents and individuals who are impacted is discovered.

Abstract

An frightening degree of moral degeneration has been attained. The family is one of the social structures that must take responsibility for this issue. The family is the first and most significant social structure where people are taught values. The family has a duty to reduce moral deterioration, notably by raising awareness, instilling, and promoting values ​​and norms that exist in society. This study aims to explain how parental engagement in reversing moral degeneration within the family can be achieved through value education. A qualitative case study research design is used in this work. This study employed document studies, in-depth interviews, and observations as data gathering methods. Thematic analysis was used as the data analysis method in this investigation. Triangulation of sources and methods was used in this study to attain a high degree of reliability. The study's findings demonstrated the various ways in which parents can get involved in their children's education: through parent associations, open lines of communication between parents and teachers, home visits, arranging parent teachers, and accompanying kids at home. Additionally, information was gathered about the challenges encountered when trying to incorporate parents in the application of value education as a means of combating moral decay in the home and establishing moral principles in children.

Abstract

This study aims to illustrate how students' religious character can be formed through positive behavioral habits in elementary schools. The approach used was qualitative with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The research findings indicate that positive routines such as making prayer a habit before and after learning, instilling honesty, mutual respect, and concern for others, have a significant influence on building students' religious character. Schools play a crucial role as formal educational institutions in instilling religious values ​​through daily activities integrated into the teaching and learning process and social interactions among school members.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the process of instilling the value of mutual cooperation in students of SDN 101765 Bandar Setia, considering that the spirit of togetherness among elementary school children currently tends to weaken due to the influence of technological developments, especially the use of gadgets. The method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation, involving the principal, teachers, students, and supporting documents from the school. The results of the study revealed that the habituation method is the main step in building the character of mutual cooperation through various activities, such as class duty, group work, community service activities, and clean Friday. Therefore, the implementation of habituation needs to be continuously improved so that students are accustomed to having an attitude of mutual help and responsibility, with full support from all related parties.

Abstract

Kemerosotan karakter anak di tingkat sekolah dasar menjadi perhatian serius dalam dunia pendidikan, terutama di tengah maraknya kasus perundungan, kekerasan antar siswa, dan penyalahgunaan teknologi. Kondisi ini menunjukkan perlunya strategi pendidikan karakter yang kuat dan kontekstual. Salah satu pendekatan yang dianggap efektif adalah pendidikan karakter berbasis nilai-nilai Pancasila sebagai ideologi dan dasar negara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsep pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar, mengkaji nilai-nilai Pancasila sebagai landasan pendidikan karakter, serta mengidentifikasi strategi implementasinya dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan metode studi pustaka, yaitu menelaah berbagai literatur ilmiah yang relevan, termasuk jurnal, buku, dan dokumen pendidikan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter di sekolah dasar berfungsi membentuk siswa menjadi pribadi yang tidak hanya unggul secara akademik, tetapi juga bermoral, bertanggung jawab, dan berintegritas. Nilai-nilai Pancasila, seperti Ketuhanan, Kemanusiaan, Persatuan, Kerakyatan, dan Keadilan, sangat relevan untuk diinternalisasikan sejak dini. Strategi implementasi yang efektif mencakup integrasi nilai ke dalam mata pelajaran, pembiasaan sikap melalui kegiatan sehari-hari dan ekstrakurikuler, serta keteladanan guru dan budaya sekolah. Kesimpulannya, pendidikan karakter berbasis Pancasila menjadi fondasi penting dalam mencetak generasi muda yang tangguh secara moral, nasionalis, dan mampu menjaga jati diri bangsa di tengah tantangan global.

Abstract

Education is essentially not only aimed at transferring knowledge but also at shaping personality. Values education plays a crucial role in shaping students into individuals with character. The problem identified in this study is that the learning process often emphasizes the cognitive aspect and ignores the affective dimension, resulting in students who excel academically but lack moral responsibility and social awareness. This study aims to analyze the role of values education in shaping students' personality and character. The method used is a literature study, with data collection techniques through documentation and recording from sources such as books, scientific journals, and relevant literature. The analysis was conducted descriptively qualitatively to identify patterns, concepts, and implications of values education in the context of PPKn or citizenship education. The results of the study indicate that values education does contribute significantly to the formation of students' personalities by fostering honesty, responsibility, discipline, empathy, and mutual respect. Furthermore, integrating values education into the learning process can strengthen students' moral awareness and prepare them to become good citizens and capable of facing the challenges of an ever-changing era. Therefore, this study concludes that values education is not merely a supplement, but a primary foundation for shaping students' personality and character holistically.

Abstract

This study aims to estimate the value of democratic character building in elementary school students through a qualitative descriptive approach with the research object at SDN 14 Rianiate. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation to explore the role of education in shaping a generation committed to national values, possessing a spirit of nationalism, and being able to appreciate differences and prioritize common interests. The results of the study indicate that the development of democratic character can be realized through a holistic Pancasila learning strategy, active teacher involvement, and real activities such as democracy day that train students to get used to deliberation in making joint decisions and foster an attitude of tolerance and awareness of togetherness.

Abstract

Abstract: The flow of educational philosophy known as the progressivism approach wants transformation in the educational process. Learner-centered education is highly recommended by the progressivism approach. In accordance with the principles of 21st century learning which emphasizes student-centered learning and students are given the opportunity to develop their higher-level thinking abilities and skills. For this reason, the aim of this research is to look at the concept of 21st century learning with the opinion or perspective of progressivism. In this study, researchers examined this discussion using literature review or library research. The results of the discussion that 21st century learning requires students and teachers to be able to move forward in accordance with current developments are very much in line with the opinion of progressivism which clearly requires progress in the learning environment and experience. it is no longer just a mere fantasy in the form of ideas and theories. And it is also in accordance with current learning which raises problems in everyday life into a case method in learning which is also seen in this flow of progressivism. Keywords: 21st Century Learning, Progressivism Abstrak: Aliran filsafat pendidikan yang dikenal sebagai pendekatan progresivisme menginginkan transformasi dalam proses pendidikan. Pendidikan berpusat pada peserta didik sangat dianjurkan oleh pendekatan progresivisme. Sesuai dengan prinsip pembelajaran abad 21 yang menekankan pada pembelajaran yang berpusat pada siswa dan peserta didik di beri kesempatan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan dan keterampilan berpikir tingkat tingginya. Untuk itu tujuan penelitian ini ingin melihat konsep pembelajaran abad 21 dengan pendapat atau perspektif aliran progresivisme. Pada penelitian ini peneliti mengkaji pembahasan ini dengan menggunakan kajian literatur atau penelitian kepustakaan. Hasil pembahasan bahwa pembelajaran abad 21 yang menghendaki peserta didik maupun guru dapat bergerak maju sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman sudah sangat sesuai dengan pendapat progresivisme yang jelas menghendaki suatu kemajuan pada lingkungan dan pengelaman belajar. tidak lagi hanya hayalan belaka yang berupa ide-ide dan teori saja. Dan juga sesuai dengan pembelajaran saat ini yang mengangkat permasalahan dalam kehidupan sehari-hhari menjadi sebuah case methode dalam pembelajaran juga di pandang dalam aliran progresivisme ini. Abstract

The weakening of nationalism among elementary students in the era of globalization highlights the need for effective character education practices in schools. Although flag ceremonies are routinely implemented, many students still perceive them as mere formalities and have not fully internalized nationalist values, indicating a gap between expected character outcomes and the reality in the field. This study aims to analyze how nationalist values are formed through flag ceremonies and positive habituation in the school environment, as well as to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in the internalization process. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation involving students, teachers, and school administrators. The findings show that routine practices such as flag saluting, singing the national anthem, and teacher role modeling effectively strengthen students’ discipline, responsibility, and patriotism, although challenges remain in terms of students’ varied levels of understanding and engagement. The study concludes that ceremonial school activities can serve as strategic instruments of character education when implemented consistently and supported by teacher exemplification. These results offer a contextual model that can be replicated to enhance nationalism in elementary education. Abstrak. Menguatnya arus globalisasi berdampak pada melemahnya rasa nasionalisme di kalangan siswa sekolah dasar, sehingga diperlukan pendekatan karakter yang lebih strategis dan kontekstual. Meskipun upacara bendera telah dilaksanakan secara rutin, sebagian siswa masih mengikutinya sebagai formalitas dan belum sepenuhnya memahami nilai-nilai kebangsaan, menunjukkan adanya kesenjangan antara tujuan ideal pendidikan karakter dan realitas pelaksanaannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis proses pembentukan sikap nasionalis siswa melalui upacara bendera serta mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat internalisasi nilai-nilai kebangsaan di lingkungan sekolah. Pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif digunakan dengan teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi untuk memperoleh data dari siswa, guru, dan pihak sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembiasaan positif melalui penghormatan bendera, menyanyikan lagu kebangsaan, dan keteladanan guru berperan langsung dalam memperkuat disiplin, tanggung jawab, dan patriotisme siswa, meskipun masih ditemukan variasi dalam pemahaman dan keterlibatan mereka. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kegiatan seremonial sekolah dapat menjadi instrumen efektif pendidikan karakter apabila dijalankan secara konsisten dan didukung keteladanan guru. Temuan ini menawarkan model kontekstual yang dapat direplikasi untuk memperkuat nasionalisme pada jenjang pendidikan dasar.
