Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of pedagogical competence and achievement motivation on teacher performance, with organizational commitment as a mediating variable at SMP Negeri Sub Rayon 02, Jepara Regency. Using a quantitative approach and path analysis based on survey data from teachers, the results show that pedagogical competence and achievement motivation have a significant direct effect on teacher performance. In addition, achievement motivation also has a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment, which in turn improves teacher performance confirming the role of organizational commitment as an effective mediator in this relationship. However, pedagogical competence does not have a significant effect on organizational commitment, so there is no mediating effect in this pathway. The R² value of 0.754 on teacher performance indicates that the model has high explanatory power. These findings have important implications for teacher development policies, whereby improving performance is not only achieved through technical (pedagogical) training, but also requires strengthening psychological aspects such as achievement motivation and the formation of organizational commitment through transformational leadership, performance-based rewards, and a supportive work climate.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects, improvements, and differences in the skills and work attitudes of students through the integration of a Deep Learning approach with the Project Based Learning PjBL model in the Style and Design Development element of the Fashion Design and Production subject at vocational high schools. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest posttest non-equivalent control group design. The participants consisted of 41 eleventh grade students from the Fashion Design Program at SMK Widya Praja Ungaran, including 21 students in the control class that implemented conventional PjBL and 20 students in the experimental class that implemented PjBL integrated with the Deep Learning approach. The research instruments consisted of a skills assessment rubric and a work attitude scale that had been validated by six experts using the Percentage of Agreement test. Data were analyzed using the N Gain test and the Independent Sample t Test. The findings indicate that the N Gain value of skills in the experimental class reached 65.4%, which falls within the moderate category and is higher than the control class with 53% in the less effective category. The N Gain value of work attitude in the experimental class reached 92% in the effective category, while the control class obtained 72% in the fairly effective category. The results of the t test show significant differences in skills t = 13.175, p = 0.000 < 0.05 and work attitudes t = 3.212, p = 0.003 < 0.05. These findings indicate that the integration of a Deep Learning approach within the PjBL model significantly improves student skills and work attitudes in vocational fashion design learning.

Abstract

Abstract

Social-emotional development in elementary education is critical for holistic student growth, yet implementation remains challenging. This study examined teachers' roles in developing lower-grade students' social-emotional skills through the Collaborative for the Advancement of Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL) approach. A qualitative descriptive case study was conducted at SDN Kauman 2 Elementary School, Juwana District, Indonesia. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with teachers and principals, and document analysis. Participants were purposively selected lower-grade teachers with direct experience implementing social-emotional learning. Data analysis followed Miles and Huberman's interactive model with triangulation for validation. Teachers effectively implemented all five CASEL competencies—self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making—through contextualized strategies integrated across subjects and daily routines. Teachers employed storytelling, role-playing, cooperative learning, and reflective practices while serving as social-emotional role models. Implementation barriers included time constraints, diverse student family backgrounds, and insufficient specialized training. Teachers addressed these through strategic curriculum integration, family engagement, and collaborative school cultures. Findings demonstrate that CASEL can be successfully adapted to culturally distinct contexts when teachers receive adequate support. The seamless integration approach addresses time constraints while enhancing both social-emotional and academic outcomes. Results underscore the necessity of systemic support structures, professional development, and school-wide coordination for sustainable implementation.

Abstract

Abstract

In 2023, Indonesia recorded 370,747 work accident cases across various sectors, with the construction sector contributing the highest percentage at 40%. Many accidents are caused by limited understanding and low compliance with Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) procedures. Improving OSH understanding can be achieved through education, especially in vocational schools. SMK Negeri 3 Semarang has implemented an independent curriculum with a teaching factory system, but there is still no systematic OSH guide for soil measurement learning. Therefore, this study aims to develop a more structured and innovative QR Code-assisted OSH guide for soil measurement. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model. The sample consisted of 70 Phase E students from the Construction and Housing Engineering program. Data analysis included validation by material experts and media experts to determine feasibility, practicality tests through teacher and student questionnaires, and effectiveness tests using pretest and posttest results. The data were first tested for normality and homogeneity before being analyzed using the T-Test and N-Gain test. The results showed that both material and media expert validations reached 91%, while the practicality test scored 92%. The effectiveness test produced an N-Gain score of 79%, categorized as effective. These findings indicate that the QR Code-assisted soil measurement OSH guide is feasible, practical, and effective in improving students’ understanding and implementation of OSH procedures.
