Abstract

The biodiversity of freshwater fish is important to study because there is data and information that remain undiscovered. The waters of Sumatra, especially West Sumatra, are areas with high freshwater fish diversity but have limited information. Providing information and genetic data has become one of the important things to conduct. DNA barcoding and eDNA metabarcoding have become molecular methods for identifying species and providing information about the presence of species in a region. A study using DNA barcoding and eDNA metabarcoding was conducted on freshwater fish in several locations in West Sumatra. Isolation and amplification of DNA were performed directly on individual samples and sequenced using conventional methods (Sanger sequencing) to generate DNA barcodes. Water samples were collected (2 liters) at each location using a sterile bottle. The water samples were filtrated, isolated, and amplified using universal primer and sequenced with next-generation sequencing techniques. The study successfully collected 25 species belonging to 14 genera, 2 families, and 1 order. A total of 134 sequences from West Sumatra with a length of 648-670 bp were analyzed. All DNA barcodes were submitted to the BOLD System and GenBank, NCBI. The mean Kimura two-parameter model (K2P) genetic distances within species, genera, families, and orders were 0.7%, 8.3%, 15.8%, and 21.3%, respectively. The eDNA metabarcoding technique has successfully detected three native fish species in the waters of West Sumatra (Barbonymus schwanefeldii, Mystacoleucus padangensis, and Rasbora jacobsoni). The availability of fish DNA barcodes in reference databases is crucial for the success of identification using eDNA metabarcoding. Combining identification using conventional methods and eDNA metabarcoding can provide more reliable results and become a reference for future freshwater monitoring.

Abstract

This study explores the economic and business implications of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) in supply chain management. Using a mixed-methods approach that combines in-depth case studies of eight multinational companies, a survey of 312 supply chain professionals from 23 countries, and a panel data analysis of 128 companies over a five-year period (2018-2023), the study identifies four key dimensions of AI-driven economic transformation. The results show that AI implementation results in operational cost restructuring with an average reduction of 24% after 36 months, predictive efficiency improvements with forecast accuracy increasing by 37.8%, workforce reconfiguration with a shift from routine operational positions (-18.7%) to highly technical and analytical positions (+24.3%), and business model transformation with the emergence of AI-powered services that have 42.7% higher profit margins than traditional businesses. These findings illustrate a fundamental shift in the supply chain economy, where value comes not only from cost efficiency but also from increased resilience, workforce productivity, and the creation of new value propositions. This research contributes to a more comprehensive understanding of how digital transformation is changing the economic and business landscape in the context of global supply chains, with important implications for corporate strategy, employment policy, and competition regulation.

Abstract

Online transportation is a service provided over the internet, representing a technological innovation that has significantly facilitated travel for Indonesians. These applications have gained widespread adoption in Indonesia, serving as alternatives to conventional transport modes like taxis and traditional motorcycle taxis. They offer convenience and speed in booking rides, along with secure transactions through digital payment systems. Despite the user-friendly experience and advantages offered by these applications, their security cannot be overlooked. The increasing accessibility of Android-based online transportation applications has made them a prime target for malicious actors ("Crackers") who may exploit vulnerabilities for nefarious purposes. This research aims to identify security vulnerabilities and compare the security found in Android-based online transportation applications. The researcher utilized the Mobile Security Framework (MobSF) to conduct static security analysis focusing on parameters such as dangerous permissions, weak cryptography, root detection, SSL bypass, and domain malware checks. The security assessments of Gojek, Maxim, and Grab revealed moderate security risks. Gojek scored 44/100, Maxim 47/100, and Grab 50/100 in terms of security ratings. All three applications were found to have vulnerabilities related to dangerous permissions and weak cryptography. Specifically, Maxim was also susceptible to SSL bypass attacks. None of the applications had implemented root detection, but their domain malware checks were deemed satisfactory.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of organizational trust and readiness for change on employee performance directly and through job crafting mediation. This study was conducted at PT Saudara Buana Samudera Medan using a quantitative survey-based approach. The data were collected through questionnaires filled out by 78 permanent employees using the proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Path analysis was conducted using the SEM-PLS method. The results showed that organizational trust and readiness for change significantly affected employee performance. In addition, job crafting was a mediator that strengthened the relationship between these variables. This study provides theoretical contributions by integrating organizational trust, readiness for change, and job crafting to explain the mechanism of improving employee performance. Practically, these findings provide recommendations to the management of PT Saudara Buana Samudera Medan to build organizational trust and support job crafting to improve employee performance amidst organizational change. The study’s focus on a single organization necessitates caution when generalizing the results. Future studies can expand the sector’s scope or add moderating variables to enrich the findings. This study fills the literature gap regarding the role of job crafting in the relationship between organizational trust, readiness to change, and employee performance in the context of Indonesian companies.

Abstract

Abstract

SeaBank serves as a digital banking platform that enables users to conduct financial transactions conveniently via their smartphones. Despite its widespread adoption, concerns regarding service quality persist. The objective of this study is to assess user satisfaction with the SeaBank application using the EUCS model. This research employs a quantitative methodology with PLS-SEM as the analytical technique to examine variable relationships. The software used for data analysis is SmartPLS 4. Data were collected through an online survey comprising 23 items, involving 100 active users aged 17 and above. Model evaluation includes both outer model and inner model analyses to ensure construct validity and reliability. The findings indicate that content, accuracy, and ease of use have a significant and positive impact on user satisfaction. Conversely, format and timeliness do not have a significant influence, suggesting that these aspects play a marginal role in shaping users' overall perception of the application. Implications of this study highlight the necessity of improving information quality, data accuracy, and intuitive interface design to enhance user satisfaction. While enhancements to format and timeliness can be considered, they are not a primary focus. This research provides valuable insights for application developers in designing user-centered service improvement strategies.
