Abstract

This study is motivated by the low learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary students in understanding economic activities, particularly production, distribution, and consumption, due to the use of conventional and less interactive learning media. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of EduButterfly media based on Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in improving students’ learning outcomes. This research employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach using a One Group Pretest-Posttest design. The subjects of this study were fourth-grade students at SDN Kedungdoro 2 Surabaya. Data were collected through tests (pretest and posttest) and student response questionnaires. The results show a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, as indicated by the increase in posttest scores compared to pretest scores and supported by the N-Gain results in the moderate to high category. In addition, student responses toward the use of EduButterfly media were very positive, indicating that the media is engaging, interactive, and effective in facilitating learning. Therefore, the EduButterfly media based on Project-Based Learning is proven to be effective in improving students’ understanding of economic activity materials in elementary school.

Abstract

This study examines public service performance, identifies the internal and external factors that influence it, and formulates improvement strategies at the North Sungkai Subdistrict Office, North Lampung Regency. A qualitative descriptive approach supported by quantitative data was employed. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Seven informants were selected purposively, while all 23 personnel, comprising 17 civil servants and 6 government employees under work agreements, were included through a census. The data were analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña model, descriptive analysis, and a SWOT matrix. The findings indicate that productivity, service quality, responsibility, and accountability were good, whereas responsiveness was fairly good and still required faster service delivery and stronger coordination. Organizational strengths included personnel experience, commitment to service, coordination, leadership support, and a clear division of duties. Weaknesses included limited staffing, facilities, training opportunities, and technology utilization. Priority strategies include competency development, service digitalization, facility improvement, strengthening a culture of service excellence, transparency, accountability, continuous service innovation, and periodic performance evaluation, supported consistently and sustainably by the local government.

Abstract

This study examines the effects of work experience and credit-disbursement target achievement on the performance quality of BRI Mantri at the Metro Branch. The study used a quantitative causal-associative survey design. The population comprised 93 Mantri, with 75 respondents selected using the Slovin formula at a 5% margin of error. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed in SPSS through descriptive statistics, validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, t-tests, an F-test, and the coefficient of determination. The instruments were valid and reliable, with Cronbach's alpha values of 0.948, 0.946, and 0.898. Work experience had a positive and significant effect on performance quality (B = 0.480; t = 3.849; p < 0.001), while target achievement also had a positive and significant effect (B = 0.336; t = 2.885; p = 0.005). Simultaneously, both variables significantly affected performance quality (F = 189.929; p < 0.001) and explained 84.1% of its variance. Work experience was the more dominant predictor, highlighting the importance of structured mentoring, field exposure, and balanced target management.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes in Social and Natural Sciences (IPAS) among third-grade students at SDN Siwalankerto II Surabaya, which were caused by the use of less engaging learning media and the suboptimal utilization of digital technology in the learning process. This condition resulted in students being less enthusiastic during lessons, thereby affecting their understanding of the material. The study aimed to determine the improvement of students’ IPAS learning outcomes after the implementation of educational TikTok media on the topic of cardinal directions. This study employed a quantitative approach using a Pre-Experimental Design with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design model. The sample consisted of 30 students from class III C selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through learning outcome tests and student response questionnaires. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that the average pretest score of 44.19 increased to 92.58 on the posttest. Students’ responses to the use of educational TikTok media were categorized as very good. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test yielded a Z value of -4.850 and an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of < 0.001, indicating a significant difference in learning outcomes before and after the treatment. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that educational TikTok media is effective in improving IPAS learning outcomes among third-grade students at SDN Siwalankerto II Surabaya and can serve as an innovative learning medium to support the teaching and learning process in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of snakes and ladders learning media in improving third-grade students’ learning outcomes in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS). The study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method using a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The participants consisted of 29 third-grade students of SDN Siwalankerto II Surabaya. Data were collected through tests, observations, and documentation. Tests were used to measure cognitive learning outcomes through pretests and posttests, while observations were used to assess psychomotor learning outcomes. Data were analyzed using the N-Gain test and Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results showed that the average pretest score of 53.79 increased to 94.14 on the posttest. The N-Gain analysis yielded an average score of 0.86, categorized as high improvement. In addition, psychomotor learning outcomes achieved an average score of 94.17, categorized as very good. The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a significant improvement in learning outcomes after the implementation of the snakes and ladders learning media. Therefore, snakes and ladders learning media is effective in improving students’ learning outcomes in elementary school IPAS learning.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has encouraged teachers to integrate social media into learning activities. TikTok is one of the most popular digital platforms among elementary school students and has the potential to be utilized as an interactive learning medium. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of implementing the TikTok digital application in science and social science (IPAS) learning on the topic of the human digestive system to improve students' learning outcomes. The research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental One Group Pretest–Posttest Design. The participants consisted of 27 fifth-grade students at SDN Ngingas, Sidoarjo Regency. Data were collected through classroom observations, pretest-posttest assessments, and student response questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed descriptively using implementation percentage, N-Gain score, and student response percentage. The results indicated that the implementation of learning activities reached 100%, categorized as very good. Students' learning outcomes significantly improved with an average N-Gain score of 0.85, categorized as high. Furthermore, student responses toward the use of TikTok as a learning medium reached 96.30%, indicating a very positive response. These findings demonstrate that the TikTok digital application effectively enhances elementary students' learning outcomes and creates a more engaging, interactive, and meaningful learning environment in IPAS instruction.
