Abstract

This research aims to test the effectiveness of using liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) from sap and pineapple water in controlling horn beetle pests (Oryctes rhinoceros) on oil palm plants in private plantations in Tandikat hamlet, Silangkitang. The approach used was a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with four treatments, namely N0 (control), N1 (100% pineapple starch), N2 (500 grams of pineapple + 1 liter LOF of palm juice), and N3 (500 grams of pineapple + 2 liters of LOF sap water) each repeated four times. The parameters observed included the number of horn beetles caught and those that died. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the significance value of the treatment was <0.05, indicating that there was a real effect of the treatment on the number of horn beetles caught and killed. Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMRT) further test indicated that the N0 treatment was significantly different from the N2 and other treatments. N2 treatment proved to be the best treatment, showing high effectiveness in controlling horn beetle pests. The conclusion of this research is that the use of LOF from pineapple and palm juice is significantly effective in controlling horn beetle pests on oil palm and is an environmentally friendly alternative to the use of chemical pesticides. Keywords: pests; horn beetles; liquid organic fertilizer; pineapple

Abstract

The primary pest of red chili plants is anthracnose disease. Anthracnose is caused by the fungus Colletotrichum sp. Anthracnose is controlled with synthetic fungicides, but their long-term usage can harm the environment by leaving residues in the soil that are difficult to degrade, causing environmental degradation and a severe impact on the health of human. The goal of this study was to see how much potential liquid smoke had as a natural fungicide in preventing Colletotrichum sp. growth. It is recognized that liquid smoke emitted by empty oil palm bunches includes antioxidant compounds that function as antifeedants, contact poisons, and stomach poisons against plant pests. These compounds have the ability to act as natural fungicides, preventing the rise of Colletotrichum sp. The pyrolysis process produces liquid smoke at temperatures ranging from 350°C to 450°C. Total phenol and total acid content are determined from the obtained liquid smoke. The total phenol a material was identified using the well diffusion method, and the findings were 12.57%. Meanwhile, the maximum total acid content was found in liquid smoke from pyrolysis at 450oC (38.4 mg/L) with a volume of liquid smoke produced of 790mL. The ideal liquid smoke concentrations for limiting the increasing number of Colletotrichum sp. fungus are 20% and 30%, with average values of 4.28 and 7.73 mm, respectively. With a very strong inhibitory response category.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of green accounting, material flow cost accounting (production cost, area size, production output), and environmental performance on sustainable development. The population of this study includes energy sector companies in the subsectors of oil, gas, coal, and palm oil listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during 2022-2024. Data were collected secondary through purposive sampling, resulting in 23 companies with 69 observations, based on certain criteria. The analysis methods include descriptive statistics, classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, autocorrelation, and heteroscedasticity), multiple regression, coefficient of determination, and hypothesis tests t and F using Eviews. The results show that green accounting, production costs, and production output have an impact on sustainable development, while area size and environmental performance do not have an impact. This study is limited by the availability of data and the number of sample companies, as well as the subjective measurement of green accounting. It is recommended to expand the sample, use more objective measurements, and add variables such as green intellectual capital, environmental cost, and internal corporate governance strength for future research.

Abstract

The internship activity at PT Supra Matra Abadi Kebun Aek Nabara (KAN) in Bilah Hulu District, LabuhanBatu Regency, North Sumatra Province, this activity was carried out for four months, March-July and the method used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 different treatments, namely by concentration of 6% and 7%. Results: Afdilling III PT Supra Matra Abadi controlled banyan weeds using two treatments, namely manually and chemically. The banyan weed is a nuisance plant, because its life clings to or suffocates the oil palm plant. The negative impacts on oil palm plants are pest attacks, competition occurs, humidity increases, making it difficult for the pruning and harvesting processes. The banyan weed population in PT Supra Matra Abadi is in block C87C and block C87G. The purpose of this study was to determine the effective and efficient concentration in the use of the supremo herbicide with the active ingredient glyphosate. Based on the results of research that has been carried out from the two concentrations of the herbicide supremo 480 SL which is effective and efficient for controlling banyan weeds in oil palm plants, namely a concentration of 7%. Because at a concentration of 6% it takes 30 days to see the banyan weed die
