Abstract

The lack of students’ direct experience with local cultural traditions and the limited availability of contextual learning media have resulted in low cultural awareness among elementary school students. This condition poses a risk of weakening the younger generation's concern for preserving local cultural heritage. This study aims to develop and examine the effectiveness of audiovisual learning media based on the Siat Tipat Bantal tradition to enhance the cultural awareness of elementary school students through the Profile of Pancasila Students approach. The type of research employed is Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research subjects involved 19 fifth-grade students and several experts, including content experts, instructional design experts, media experts, teachers, and school principals. Data were collected using validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and achievement tests. The data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative, descriptive qualitative, and inferential statistical methods (t-test). The results revealed that the developed audiovisual media was of very high quality, with expert and practitioner validation scores exceeding 90%. Furthermore, the t-test results indicated a tvalue of 10.540, which is greater than the ttable value of 2.101, signifying a significant difference between students' pre-test and post-test scores. It can be concluded that the Siat Tipat Bantal audiovisual media is effective in enhancing the cultural awareness of elementary school students. Its implication suggests that this media can serve as an alternative contextual learning tool that promotes the strengthening of local cultural values in elementary education.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of fourth-grade students in Science and Social Studies (IPAS), particularly on the topic “My Region and Its Natural Resources.” The purpose of this research was to develop, test the feasibility, and determine the effectiveness of the interactive comic media “KOIN: The Wonders of Natural Resources” as a learning tool to enhance students’ understanding and motivation. The research subjects consisted of 25 fourth-grade students and three experts, including a content expert, a learning design expert, and a media expert. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE development model, with data collected through multiple-choice tests, questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Data analysis included quantitative descriptive analysis, qualitative descriptive analysis, and inferential statistical analysis, including normality tests and paired-sample t-tests. The results indicated that the interactive comic media KOIN received validation scores from the experts above 90%, categorizing it as “very good,” and trials with individual students and small groups also yielded very good results. Effectiveness tests through pre-test and post-test analysis revealed a significant improvement in learning outcomes, evidenced by a paired-sample t-test result of tcalculated = 14.291 > ttable = 2.064 at a 5% significance level. These findings demonstrate that KOIN media is effective and feasible for IPAS learning, contributing to the development of interactive media and supporting teachers in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum based on context and technology.

Abstract

This study addresses the issue of the limited use of learning media, which affects students' low learning outcomes. The proposed solution is to develop interactive and innovative learning media. The study aims to design, analyze the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the HOTS-based Wordwall Quiz interactive learning media. The research follows the R&D (Research and Development) model using qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Data collection methods include validity and practicality questionnaires and tests for product effectiveness. The effectiveness study involved 29 fifth-grade students using a one-group pretest-posttest design, analyzed with a correlated t-test. Results show a material validity index of 3.8 and a media validity index of 3.9, both classified as highly valid. The practicality index also falls under the highly practical category. The effectiveness test significantly improved students' IPAS learning outcomes after using the HOTS-based Wordwall Quiz. It is concluded that the interactive Wordwall Quiz meets feasibility standards and enhances learning outcomes. The study implies that using interactive HOTS-based Wordwall Quiz positively impacts the learning process, fosters active and creative learning, and optimizes students’ understanding.

Abstract

The problem addressed in this study is the low learning motivation of students in IPAS (Science) learning, particularly on the topic of photosynthesis in Grade IV of elementary school. This study aims to: (1) produce a design of interactive learning multimedia based on Canva; (2) determine its validity; (3) test its practicality; and (4) test its effectiveness. This is a development research using the ADDIE model and employing a one-group pretest-posttest design. The instruments used were questionnaires with a rating scale, and the data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The subject of this research was interactive learning multimedia, involving 1 teacher and 20 Grade IV elementary school students as participants. The results showed that: (1) the multimedia was successfully designed using Canva, (2) the validity test received high scores from media experts (0.944) and material experts (0.962), (3) the practicality test obtained very good scores from the teacher (99%) and students (92%), and (4) the effectiveness test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, the developed interactive learning multimedia is considered valid, practical, and effective in increasing students' learning motivation. The implication of this research is that the media can serve as an innovative alternative in IPAS learning, especially for the topic of photosynthesis, to create a more engaging and motivating learning process.

Abstract

The limited availability of reading materials that highlight local culture in elementary schools has led to low cultural literacy and reading skills among students. Therefore, this study aims to develop a Bima local wisdom-based children's storybook as a learning medium to enhance the cultural literacy and reading skills of fifth-grade students. The storybook was developed using the ADDIE model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects included fifth-grade students of SDN Inpres Tente, classroom teachers, and experts in content, media, and language involved in the product validation process. The research object was the children's storybook La Lino and La Mango, which integrates cultural and moral values of the Bima community. Data collection methods included observations, interviews, questionnaires, tests, and documentation. The findings indicate that the storybook has a very high level of validity, with scores of 4.15 for content aspects and 4.0 for media aspects. The practicality test conducted by teachers yielded a score of 4.9, indicating that the book is easy to use in learning. Meanwhile, the effectiveness test using the n-gain score showed a significant improvement in students' cultural literacy and reading skills. Thus, the Bima local wisdom-based children's storybook serves as an innovative learning medium that not only enhances students' literacy but also introduces and preserves local culture.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh model PBL terhadap motivasi dan prestasi belajar siswa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan sampel penelitian yang terdiri dari 2 kelas siswa SDN 2 Tente. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa soal tes dan angket. Untuk mendeskripsikan data hasil tes dan angket digunakan statistik deskriptif dengan bantuan SPSS 30 for Windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, setelah diberikan perlakuan, motivasi belajar siswa pada kelas V-II/eksperimen menunjukkan peningkatan dengan nilai rata-rata 51,59, dibandingkan dengan kelas V-I/kelas kontrol yang hanya mencapai 46,75. Prestasi belajar siswa kelas V-II mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan, dengan nilai rata-rata 18,50, sedangkan kelas V-I tetap stagnan pada 6,45. Standar deviasi yang lebih kecil pada kelas V-II menunjukkan bahwa Prestasi belajar  unggul dibanding kelas V-I. Kesimpulan  penelitian ini bahwa model PBL yang terapkan efektif dalam peningkatan motivasi dan prestasi belajar siswa.

Abstract

The problem found in fourth grade is that the learning process tends to only use the lecture method so that students are not motivated to learn because it tends to be boring. In addition, the use of learning media is not optimal. This development research has objectives, namely to: (1) describe the design of PBL-based interactive learning video media, (2) find out the acceptability of PBL-based interactive learning video media, (3) find out the effectiveness of the application of PBL-based interactive learning video media used to increase IPAS learning motivation of grade IV elementary school students. This development research uses the ADDIE model, there are five stages, namely: (1) analysis, (2) design, (3) development, (4) implementation, and (5) evaluation. Data collection method with document study and questionnaire. The instrument used to collect data is a questionnaire guideline. The effectiveness of the model was tested through an experiment involving control and experimental groups, where pre-tests and post-tests were used to measure differences in student learning motivation before and after the application of learning media. The results showed that: (1) this study has succeeded in producing PBL-based interactive learning video media that ensures a more interactive and engaging learning experience, particularly suited for fostering problem-solving skills in science education of grade IV elementary school students. (2) media acceptability validation index of 0.944 with very high predicate / qualification; (3) the significance value (2-tailed) in the correlated t-test shows a number of <0.001, smaller than 0.05 (significance level of 5%). In conclusion PBL-based interactive learning video media is effectively used to increase IPAS learning motivation of grade IV elementary school students.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of the Discovery Learning model enriched with Wamena local wisdom on natural and social sciences learning outcomes and students’ scientific attitudes in Grade III elementary schools in Wamena. Conventional, non-contextual teaching that is weakly connected to local culture has contributed to low learning outcomes and scientific attitudes, motivating this research. A quantitative approach with a posttest-only quasi-experimental control group design was employed. The sample comprised 35 students in the experimental class, who learned through discovery learning with Wamena local wisdom, and 34 students in the control class, who received conventional instruction. Data was collected using a natural and social sciences achievement test and a scientific attitude questionnaire and analyzed using MANOVA. The results showed that discovery learning with Wamena local wisdom had a significant simultaneous effect on natural and social sciences learning outcomes and scientific attitudes (p < 0.05). The experimental group achieved higher mean scores in natural and social sciences (86.67) than the control group (66.67) and the experimental group students' scientific attitude reached a very high category (102) compared to the control group (92). These findings indicate that the model improves cognitive achievement and fosters critical, contextual scientific attitudes while positioning local culture as a core element of elementary school learning.

Abstract

The use of engaging, contextually relevant learning media appropriate to the learning characteristics of elementary school students remains limited. There is a need for innovative, interactive learning media to support a contextual, meaningful learning process. This study aims to develop a VideoScribe-based learning media, combined with the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach, to improve learning effectiveness among fourth-grade elementary school students. The method used in this study is the Research and Development method, which uses the ADDIE development model and includes the following stages: analysis, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection uses tests, observations, and interviews. The subjects in this study were 21 fourth-grade elementary school students. The analysis technique uses quantitative analysis. The results of the development show that the designed VideoScribe media is highly feasible, as validated by material and media experts and evidenced by positive responses from teachers and students. A limited trial in fourth grade showed that this media increased student engagement and understanding of the subject matter. The conclusion of this study shows that VideoScribe-based learning media integrated with the CTL approach is effective for use in elementary school students' learning. This finding implies that the development of technology-based media aligned with a contextual learning approach can be an alternative strategy for improving the quality of learning processes and outcomes, and can serve as a reference for teachers and media developers in creating more engaging and meaningful learning experiences.

Abstract

Rendahnya capaian literasi ilmiah siswa Indonesia berdasarkan hasil PISA menunjukkan perlunya transformasi pembelajaran sains di sekolah. Studi ini melakukan Systematic Literature Review (SLR) terhadap lima artikel utama terkait pembelajaran berbasis inkuiri, integrasi STEM, fasilitas laboratorium, dan kompetensi guru (PCK) untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor kunci yang mempengaruhi literasi ilmiah. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran inkuiri secara konsisten meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, pemahaman konseptual, serta keterampilan proses ilmiah siswa. Integrasi STEM memberikan penguatan melalui pemecahan masalah autentik dan pendekatan desain rekayasa yang mendorong motivasi serta performa literasi. Di sisi lain, keterbatasan fasilitas laboratorium menjadi hambatan signifikan, sementara laboratorium virtual dan teknologi simulasi mampu menjadi alternatif efektif. Temuan juga menegaskan bahwa kompetensi guru, khususnya Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), menjadi faktor penentu keberhasilan implementasi inkuiri dan STEM. Secara keseluruhan, peningkatan literasi ilmiah di Indonesia memerlukan kolaborasi strategis antara inovasi pedagogis, penyediaan fasilitas, serta pengembangan profesional guru secara berkelanjutan.
