Abstract

The coronavirus affects peoples' lives around the world. Social restriction policy can affect the psychosocial environment. Therefore restrictions and lockdown policies can increase a person's level of anxiety. This literature study identifies predisposing factors and reinforcing factors for anxiety feelings during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used in writing this literature study is by searching the internet from the CINAHL database, EBSCOHost, Proquest, Pubmed, Google Scholar, and nursing books from 2010-2020 with the keyword anxiety facing Covid-19. Anxiety feeling during a pandemic can occur in a person due to predisposing factors including due to the COVID-19 pandemic, spending> 9 hours at home, excessive search for information online, more common in women, economy, having babies, married status, student status, learning environment, and internet network. Some actions that can reduce anxiety classified as reinforcing factors, namely emotional regulation, resilience, supportive intervention, religious coping, family support, limiting exposure to information media, and physical activity for sports. It can be explained that some factors that influence the occurrence of anxiety feelings are predisposing factors as well as preventive actions or those that can reduce anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic classified as the reinforcing factor. Investigating influencing factors can help to understand the development and maintenance of anxiety feelings and to develop possible preventive measures and therapeutic interventions

Abstract

Background: Nurses are required to conduct themselves professionally at all times, without compromising procedure or the patient's pleasure. Each day, they confront a variety of workplace stresses that might jeopardize their health and possibly result in a reduction or lack of enthusiasm to work. Objectives: The study aimed to determine contribute factors of nurses' spiritual intelligence at Bandung City Hospital based on their characteristics. Methods: This research used a descriptive quantitative method and Spiritual Intelligence of Self Report Inventory (SISRI-24) to collect the data. The respondents were 239 nurses selected using the total population technique. The univariate analysis was used to explain the various levels of spiritual intelligence based on the nurse's characteristics Results: The results show that the nurses' spiritual intelligence in Bandung City Regional General Hospital is 49% high and 51% low. It was also discovered that a high level of spiritual intelligence was based on the following characteristics: aged 41-60 years old, male, and on more- than-10-year tenure, Nursing School graduates, head nurses and nurses assigned at a hemodialysis unit. Conclusion: The research concludes that more than half of the respondents have a low level of spiritual intelligence. Therefore, holding Emotional Spiritual Quotient training is recommended, especially for nurses relatively new to the job. The study has implication because spiritual intelligence is vital in nursing, significantly impacting care quality, well-being of all involved, and leading to better patient outcomes and job satisfaction.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia has a suicide rate that continues to increase so suicide attempts need to be made. One of the early prevention steps is to find suicidal ideation. ATTS is a multi-dimensional measuring tool by measuring Cognitive, Affective and Behavioral aspects that is easy to fill, fast and precise in measuring attitudes towards suicide in the general population through large surveys than other instruments and ATTS is also not yet developed in Indonesia. Therefore, with the Rasch Model that can perform analysis at the item and respondent level, it is expected to produce a psychometric tool in preventing suicide in Indonesia. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to test the validity and reliability of the adaptation of the Attitudes Toward Suicide (ATTS) instrument into Indonesian using the RASCH model approach. Methods: The method used is non-experimental with an analytical observational approach which is carried out cross-sectionally using the RASCH model with winstep software. The number of samples used was 243 residents with inclusion criteria of being adults (20-40 years) and knowing about suicide cases in Plered District, one of the sub-districts in Purwakarta Regency which had several suicide cases in 2020. This instrument consists of 73 questions. Results: The results showed a value of scale-level (S-CVI) = 0.89 and content validity ratio (S-CVR/UA) = 0.72. This value indicates a good quality of content validity. Analysis based on RASCH shows very good item reliability with a value of 0.98 but the result of person reliability is 0.27 which is caused by the lack of variation in respondents’ answers in filling out the questionnaire. This also has an impact on Cronbach’s alpha value = 0.32. The analysis is elaborated into four factors consisting of summary statistics, unidimensionality, item size, and Differential Item Functioning (DIF). The results show ideal results, but the pattern of person responses that are not diverse from the respondents causes a logit distribution that is not too far away and the variance is not large. Conclusion: it can be concluded that the consistency of respondents’ answers is weak but the quality of the instrument questions in terms of reliability is good and can still be used to measure ATTS.

Abstract

Building a trusting relationship is the initiation process of the therapeutic communication between nurses and patients. In patients with schizophrenia, Building a trusting relationship is a challenge that is not easy and is often overlooked. If they have no strategies, internal and external factors of both nurses and patients may complicate them in building a therapeutic relationship. One of the techniques of interaction that can be practiced by nurses is Motive-Oriented Therapeutic Relationship. This study uses a case report of one patient with schizophrenia who has auditory hallucination disorder. Interactions were conducted on April 04 - 11, 2023. The intervention used the Motive-Oriented Therapeutic Relationship approach, and the assessment of the trust response used an adaptation of the General Trust Scale instrument. There was a positive response to the patient's trust in the nurse after the Motive-Oriented Therapeutic Relationship experience for 3 days, this was evident from the increase in the average value of the patient's General Trust Scale score from 0.20 to 0.86 whereas the patient was said to have trust if (α =>0.83).  Intervention of Motive-Oriented Therapeutic Relationship approach can build BHSP in patients with Schizophrenia and as recommendation it should be carried out together with Plan Analysis (PA) so that the therapeutic relationship is established for optimum psychiatric care. Keywords: Schizophrenia, BHSP, MOTR, GTS.
