Abstract

This study aims to determine litter production, decomposition rate and diversity of soil macrofauna in secondary forests and candlenut stands. This research was carried out by collecting litter on the littertrap for 30 days then put it on the litterbag, then observed in secondary forests and candlenut stands in Uwemanje Village, Kinovaro District, Sigi Regency, Gawalise Mountains Slope, Central Sulawesi. Macrofauna identification was carried out at the Pest Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Tadulako University, Palu, from October to December 2019. Parameters observed were litter production, decomposition rate and soil macrofauna. The results showed that secondary forest litter production (2.20 tons / ha / month) was higher than candlenut stands (2.14 tons / ha / month). The rate of litter decomposition in secondary forests is classified as moderate with a percentage of 17% -19% and the decomposition rate of candlenut stands is relatively slow with a percentage of 10-12%. The diversity of soil macrofauna species in secondary forests is similar to candlenut stands. Similarity index or similarity of soil macrofauna types in secondary forests and candlenut stands is worth 75.67%.

Abstract

The research aims to find out how much influence legume leaf compost and microbes on improving nutrient absorption andgrowth of ebony seedlings. The research was conducted from August 2, 2022 to February 2, 2023 for 6 months at the BPDAS Palu-Poso Permanent Nursery. The compost used is compost derived from legume leaves consisting of gamal, lamtoro, and turi trees and the microbes used are Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) and Plantarum Plant Growth Stimulant (PPGS) which are microbes that are widely traded in agricultural specialty online stores, The samples of this study amounted to 108 ebony seedlings with 12 treatments andeach treatment contained 9 seedlings/samples. This study used analysis of variance of complete randomized design (CRD) to determine the significant and non-significant effects of each treatment by looking at several variables from height, diameter, number of leaves, sturdiness, nutrient uptake, seedling quality index in each seedling/sample. The results showed that seedlings treated with tailings soil + lamtoro leaf compost + PGPR microbes (K3M2) had the best average growth in each variable. While the lowest growth of seedlings with control soil treatment (K0M0).

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the use of soft power and hard power strategies in international politics carried out by major countries, and to understand how these two approaches complement or compete with each other in achieving national interests. Using descriptive qualitative methods, this study examines case studies in the United States and China over the last decade. The results of this study indicate that the hard power and soft power strategies implemented by the United States and China have a significant impact on the dynamics of international politics, both in the form of competition for global influence, regional stability, and changes in the world economic order. The United States tends to use its military superiority to ensure deterrence and enforce interests through economic sanctions, while its soft power derived from popular culture and democratic values remains a strong attraction in many countries. In contrast, China focuses on economic diplomacy through massive investment and strengthening trade relations that increase the dependence of its partners, accompanied by the modernization of its military as a guarantee of protecting strategic interests. The combination of the strategies of the two countries not only triggers competition in promoting development and governance models, but also creates a more complex international landscape, where narratives and public perceptions become new fields of competition besides the power of weapons and economy. Abstract

Public Street Lighting (PSL) is one of the complementary road buildings used to illuminate the road. Solar Public Street Lighting (SPSL) is used in several places in Indonesia. Based on the background above, the objectives of this study are (1) to obtain the results of technical analysis of SPSL, (2) to obtain the results of economic analysis of SPSL development using investment schemes. The research was conducted in Manokwari Regency, West Papua. The research data were obtained from the results of measurements on solar panels to solar charge controllers and measurements from solar charge controllers to batteries in sunny, cloudy or rainy weather conditions from 08:00 WIT to 17:00 WIT. Economic analysis is carried out to obtain the parameters of Net Present Value (NPV), and Benefit Cost Ratio  (B/C Ratio) with discount rates of  10% and 0%. The results showed that (1) based on technical analysis SPSL in Manokwari Regency has met public street lighting standards, in accordance with  the Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 27 of 2018 concerning street lighting equipment. (2) An economic analysis shows that the development of SPSL with investment schemes is not feasible because the NPV value  < 0 with an IRR of 10%, and a B/C Ratio of < 1. The construction of SPSL is economically feasible if the calculation of 0% IRR with the price of electricity per kWh reaches a value of IDR 14,411.32 or approximately ten times the price of Non-Subsidized PLN kWh electricity which is worth IDR 1,444.70.
