Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a very dangerous disease and can cause various problems. Early diagnosis of DM is essential to avoid severe effects and complications. An affordable DM diagnosis method can be developed by applying machine learning. Random forest (RF) is a machine learning technique that is applied to develop a DM diagnosis method. However, the optimization of RF hyperparameters determines the performance of RF approach. Swarm intelligence (SI) could be used to solve the hyperparameter optimization problem on RF. It is robust and simple to be applied and doesn’t require derivatives. Bat algorithm (BA) is one of SI techniques that gives a balance between exploration and exploitation to find a global optimal solution. This article proposes developing an RF-BA-based technique for diagnosing DM. The results of the experiment demonstrate that RF-BA can diagnose DM more accurately than conventional RF. RF-BA has higher performance compared to RF-particle swarm optimization (PSO) in terms of computational time. The RF-BA also are able to solve the overfitting problem in the conventional RF. In the future, the proposed method has a high chance of being implemented for helping people with early DM diagnosis with high accuracy, low cost, and high-speed process.

Abstract

Abstract

The ability of institutions organizing Distance Learning (PJJ) to conduct Community Service programs (PkM) online is frequently questioned, notably their effectiveness. The paper seeks to demonstrate that e-learning-based community service initiatives including collaboration among distance learning students, conventional students, lecturers, and partners can produce concrete outcomes. E-learning-based entrepreneurship training was delivered to 20 vocational high school students who were involved in extracurricular entrepreneurship activities. The implementation technique is a mixed approach, with distance learning students acting as presenters, normal students serving as on-site mentors, lecturers designing the curriculum, and schoolteachers monitoring student progress. The training results reveal an increase in entrepreneurial attitude and the ability to produce unique ideas that can be implemented in the field. This conclusion underscores the fact that online community service programs, if well-designed and involving a variety of parties, can be successfully executed and have a good impact on student skill development.

Abstract

COVID-19 has spread all throughout the world, even to Indonesia. Surabaya becomes one of Indonesia's major cities where COVID-19 is fast spreading, culminating in a large number of positive cases and over 1000 deaths from the disease by November 2020. The number of positive COVID-19 cases predicted can be utilized to limit hospital facility availability and develop plans and policies for tackling the illness outbreak. One of the many prediction systems identified is the Extreme Learning Machine (ELM). ELM has a quick and precise training speed. However, the performance of ELM depends on the number of neurons. When the number of neurons is not precisely specified, prediction accuracy suffers. Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) has the ability to optimize the number of node ELM neurons so the ELM can achieve better results. The number of neurons is determined using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) with decreased inertia weight. As a result, this research proposes predicting COVID-19 instances in Surabaya using a hybrid of PSO and ELM (PSO-ELM) with decreased inertia weight. The studies reveal that the offered techniques with different activation functions work comparably well in predicting COVID-19 instances in Surabaya. The best MAPE is achieved using the sigmoid activation function with the number of hidden layer nodes around . Keywords: Covid-19, Optimization, Prediction, PSO-ELM.

Abstract

This study proposes an early diagnosis model based on Machine Learning for liver cirrhosis classification using the Hepatitis C dataset, which is the leading cause of cirrhosis, from UCI ML. The classification is performed using the XGBoost algorithm because it provides high accuracy and time efficiency based on previous studies. However, these advantages depend on the combination of its hyperparameters set. XGBoost has a large number of hyperparameters, which can be time-consuming for researchers to manually configure. Therefore, this study proposes combining XGBoost with the Harris Hawks Optimization (HHO) algorithm for hyperparameter tuning. HHO is implemented with a hawk population of 40 and maximum iterations set at 25. The proposed XGBoost-HHO model provides an average performance of 99.34% for accuracy, MAR, MAP and 99.33% for Macro F1-score. These performances are achieved with the shortest processing time across 25 experiments compared to other combination models. The performance of the XGBoost-HHO model shows more significant increase in performance and reduction in overfitting compared to the standard XGBoost, SVM, RF models, as well as several other combined models including RF-HHO, SVM-HHO, XGBoost-PSO, and XGBoost-BA. Additionally, based on the feature importance analysis of the XGBoost-HHO algorithm, Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT), Protein, and Gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) contribute the most to the classification process, with gain values of 11.21, 9.51, and 7.98, respectively. Overall, the findings of this study show that the XGBoost-HHO algorithm combination provides competitive performance and can serve as an excellent alternative for liver cirrhosis classification in terms of both accuracy and time efficiency.

Abstract

Camplong Beach is a tourist attraction with a strategic location and the most crowded of visitors. However, lately the number of visitors has decreased due to Camplong beach which is no longer in demand by the public, especially the coastal community and visitors because some of the tourist attractions are not maintained, there is garbage scattered on the beach, and the lack of amusement rides. Speaking of tourism, competition is currently tight. All tours are vying to attract visitors. Why in the world of tourism, competition is fierce, because tourism is now a pillar of the Indonesian economy after trade. The current growth of the tourism sector can provide benefits for both the State and the surrounding community. One example is the growth of the economy and the availability of jobs. This study uses the Community Participation Theory from Keith Devis, among others: (1) participation or participation (involvement / participation); (2) the availability of making a contribution to efforts in achieving group goals, this means a sense of pleasure, volunteerism in helping the group, a person becomes a member of the group with all its values; (3) the element of responsibility, this element is a prominent aspect of the feeling of being a member. Based on the results of the research conducted, there are three important elements in Keith Devis' definition of participation, namely participation, availability to contribute, and responsibility. Using the participation theory, it resulted that community participation was very enthusiastic, the availability of community contributions in developing destinations was still considered sufficient, and community responsibility was still relatively low. From this research, community participation in developing coastal tourist destinations in Camplong Village, Sampang Regency is still low, especially in the element of responsibility which has been stated by Keith Devis. Abstract

The paradigm of public administration to putting public services of the shift in the main focus of the public bureaucracy an substance, arguing that it reduces the portion of the government's role that the single agent shifts to citizens in the position of sovereign owners and is always encouraged to participate in the implementation of development and public services. Maining approach of public is not the state but the putting citizen. Democratization is an analysis of the modern bureaucratic theory of classical bureaucratic forms that prioritize the role and function of government structures in governance of productivity-based and professional organizations. The perspective of the administration of public becomes the administration of public or administration by public which becomes the key issue of bureaucracy in the service barometer. Inherent with the public service, that public policy is one of the crucial domains in it. Good policy, Good Public Policy will realize quality public service. Regional Regulation (Perda) of Pamekasan Regency Number6 Year 2010About Retribution of Parking Service at Public Road and Levy of Special Parking Area in Pamekasan Regency is one of the articulation form of more concrete governmental interest in the form of regional regulation in principle to maximize the role of government as a public servant that is giving optimal service to the community, providing legal certainty about parking management, giving parking regulators certainty.
