Abstract

Jumlah induk memijah berkisar 66-100%, periode hamil berkisar 12-17 hari.

Abstract

Feed stability is a crucial factor in aquaculture, as it affects both the physical integrity of the feed and its acceptance by aquatic species. For Monopterus albus (swamp eel), maintaining feed stability while ensuring palatability is vital for optimal growth and health. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different binder types and concentrations on the stability and acceptability of pasta feed for Monopterus albus (swamp eel). Seven binders—gelatin, gluten, CMC, chitosan, alginate, guargum, and carrageenan—were tested at 0%, 10%, 15%, and 20% concentrations using a completely randomized design. Feed disintegration and breakdown times, along with feeding behavior, were analyzed using non-parametric tests. Gelatin, CMC, and chitosan significantly improved feed stability (p < 0.05), maintaining cohesion for over 40 minutes. Gelatin at 10% concentration yielded optimal results, balancing water resistance and palatability. Behavioral observations showed that gelatin-based feeds were most preferred, with increased feeding frequency and consumption. When combined with natural attractants such as worms and snails, gelatin feeds enhanced intake rates. These outcomes indicate that protein-based binders, particularly gelatin, offer superior mechanical and nutritional advantages compared to polysaccharide alternatives. Gelatin’s dual role as a binder and nutritional enhancer provides a promising strategy for sustainable aquaculture feed development.

Abstract

Daphnia magna is an animal Crustacea which is often referred to as small-sized water lice that live in freshwater and is one of the natural feeds for aquatic larvae which are easily digested, their size is in accordance with mouth openings, has high nutrient content, contains essential amino acids which high and can be cultivated in bulk. Tofu pulp and bran organic fermented with probiotic bacteria are expected to increase the efficiency of feed utilization and growth of Daphnia magna. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of tofu and bran fermentation results on the population and determine the best combination of feed with tofu pulp and bran fermentation which results in high growth of Daphnia magna. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications to obtain 12 experimental units. Treatment A: control (commercial feeding), treatment B (giving 0.15 g / l tofu dregs and 0.3 gl bran), treatment C (giving 0.3 g / l tofu dregs), and treatment D (giving 0 , 6 g / l bran). The results of this study indicate that the administration of tofu pulp and bran through the probiotic fermentation process affects population density, population growth rate, and biomass production of Daphnia magna. Treatment B is the best treatment with the highest population density of 246.67 ind / l, population growth rate of 5.199% / day, and biomass production of 340 mg / l.

Abstract

Mangrove areas serve as habitats for many marine creatures. The mangrove area in Mumbul Sari Village is under conservation status, with activities designed to protect, restore, and enhance the quality and diversity for sustainable use. Crab farming, using the Bamboo Net (KOMBUJA) system, supports these goals. In Seruni Mumbul Village, socialization activities aimed to 1) introduce and promote silvofishery principles, 2) increase understanding of general crab farming, and 3) introduce the Kombuja crab farming system to the Pelita Seruni POKMASWAS group. The three main methods deployed—preparation, socialization, and participant counseling—were carried out at the Padak sia Mosque with 12 attendees. Initially, participants had little understanding of silvofishery and crab physiology. By the end, more than 75% gained an understanding of basic silvofishery principles, crab characteristics, cultivation methods, and variations of the KOMBUJA system for mangrove crab farming.

Abstract

Nutritional fulfillment in the maturation process of fish gonads is very important to improve the quality of fish seeds. The purpose of this study was to analyze the frequency of feeding dried silk worms on the gonadal maturity rate of molly (Poecilia sphenops). This research was carried out in the Aquaculture Study Program Laboratory, Mataram University, for 60 days from March to April 2022. This study used an experimental method. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments, namely P1 = using commercial fish feed, P2 = feeding dried silk worms 2 times a week, P3 = feeding dried silk worms as much as 3 times a week, and P4 = feeding dried silkworms 4 times a week. Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The test fish used were 3 months old with a length range of 3 cm. The amount of feed given was 10% of the weight of the biomass of the test fish, and it was fed 3 times a day. The best treatment gave the highest gonad maturity level, with was P4 of 67% fish in level IV of gonad maturity, a gonad maturity index of 4.68%, absolute length growth of 0.69 cm, and weight growth absolute 0.98 g.

Abstract

The community inventory activity in Pengawisan Hamlet, West Sekotong Village, Sekotong District, West Lombok, is part of the KKN-MBKM program which aims The purpose of this activity is to identify the process and production capacity of pindang tuna in Pengawisan Hamlet, to find out the obstacles faced such as raw materials, technology, and marketing, and to encourage innovation and mentoring so that the business can grow, be competitive, and improve the welfare of coastal communities. The method used is a qualitative method with data collection and documentation. The inventory results show that the raw materials are obtained from local fishermen, then processed by smoking using fresh water and salt so that the quality of the fish is maintained and more durable. There are 3 groups of managers of Pindang Tuna MSMEs, consisting of 2-5 people in one group. Where the smallest group has 2 processors and the processed output is 40 baskets/day. For the medium processing group there are 4 processors with the processed output of 100 baskets/day. Meanwhile, the largest processing group consists of five people, producing 280 baskets per day, with the highest distribution at around 40% in the Baretais market. This business adds value to the fishermen's catch and provides a significant source of income for the fish processing community in Pengawisan Hamlet.
