Abstract

Covid-19 has become a world pandemic, and Indonesia is among the worse cases. Problems that arise are faced by all parties, including religious elites as well as laypeople. This study was conducted to describe how Muslims in Indonesia responded to and tried to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic. The study uses descriptive qualitative methods to collect data by observation, in-depth interview by phone, and online searching documents. From the research conducted, Islamic mass organizations have a relatively similar opinion that limits religious activities supported by various religious arguments. As for laypeople’s behavior, most are the same as mass organizations and Islamic leaders; very few have different behaviors. In anticipation of the virus spreading, most of them restricted religious activities in full by closing down the mosque and stopping public prayers. Few remained active as before the Covid-19 pandemic. Beberapa tetap aktif seperti sebelum pandemi Covid-19.

Abstract

Teachers play an important role in transferring or sharing knowledge shared with students. In sharing this knowledge, it is necessary to have a teacher's initial ability in basic teaching skills. Study aimed to obtain an overview of the basic taught skills of prospective Biology Education teacher students at UMM based on the communication pattern of Transcript Based Lesson Analysis. This study used a descriptive approach involving subjects and the Lesson Study team. Data collection obtained from documentation includes video & audio recorder. Data through learning videos and audio were transcribed into writing according to all activities during the learning process. Furthermore, the learning transcripts were analyzed into descriptive data. The results showed that prospective teachers had mastered the nine components of basic teaching skills, namely opening lessons, questioning skills, improving skills, making variations, skills guiding small group discussion skills, small group and individual teaching skills, and class management skills and close the lesson. However, several indicators of the nine components have not been met, such as the skills to ask questions, explain, and guide small group discussions. Thus, this deficiency makes the teacher's activity more dominant than the students which are known through the word count graph of the Transcript Based Lesson Analysis.

Abstract

Environmental literacy (EL) must be implanted in education, including at the Islamic Boarding School. This study aimed to analyze the EL of students (focus on ecological knowledge/EK, verbal commitment/VC, and actual commitment/AC) in MA Bilingual-Sidoarjo. The approach used was a quantitative approach, supported by qualitative data. This research was ex-post facto, for three months. The research subjects were 120 students (40 each grade), taken by purposive sampling. EL was assessed using MSELS/I. The analysis was carried out by tabulating it into Microsoft Excel 2010. The results showed various EL scores. The aspects of EK vary, from sufficient to high levels. Students in class XI and XII-IPA have a relatively high EK score, while students of class X-IPS have low score. The distribution of students' EK scores in one class group was very diverse. Students tend to have an attitude (VK) that agrees to take pro-environmental actions, especially on small things, but the opposite in terms related to the system and the involvement of many people. At the level of behavior (AC), students tend to show pro-environmental actions. Thus it can be concluded that EL students tend to be diverse, tend to increase their quality according to class level.
