Abstract

Abstrak. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi penggunaan guided intellectual diaries sebagai strategi pembelajaran reflektif untuk meningkatkan literasi sastra pada mahasiswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Program Studi Sastra Inggris Universitas Negeri Makassar dengan melibatkan 33 orang mahasiswa yang berpartisipasi dalam intervensi pembelajaran selama satu semester melalui integrasi penulisan Guided Intellectual Diary dalam pembelajaran mata kuliah English Prose. Guided Intellectual Diary dirancang untuk mendorong refleksi kritis mahasiswa terhadap interpretasi teks, konteks sosial-budaya, sudut pandang pengarang, serta keterlibatan personal terhadap karya sastra. Data tambahan diperoleh melalui focus group discussion (FGD) guna memperkaya pemahaman terhadap pengalaman belajar mahasiswa. Data yang terdiri atas diari dan transkrip FGD kemudian dianalisis secara tematik dengan menggunakan kerangka enam tahap Braun dan Clarke (2022). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa Guided Intellectual Diary berkontribusi signifikan terhadap pengembangan literasi sastra mahasiswa, khususnya dalam pendalaman kemampuan interpretatif dan analitis, peningkatan kesadaran kultural dan empatik, serta penguatan otonomi dan refleksi diri dalam membaca. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi Guided Intellectual Diary dalam pembelajaran sastra dapat menjembatani analisis akademik dan respons personal, sekaligus memperkuat dimensi kognitif, afektif, dan metakognitif dalam aktivitas membaca. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa praktik pembelajaran reflektif terarah merupakan model pedagogis yang efektif untuk menumbuhkan pembaca kritis dan mandiri di lingkungan pendidikan tinggi khususnya dalam bidang ilmu kesusastraan. Kata Kunci: literasi sastra, guided intellectual diaries, pembelajaran reflektif, analisis tematik, pendidikan sastra

Abstract

Abstrak: Dominasi metode pedagogis tradisional yang bergantung pada papan tulis telah menyebabkan rendahnya keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam (SKI). Hasil observasi awal menunjukkan bahwa siswa cenderung pasif, tidak responsif terhadap pertanyaan, dan kurang memiliki inisiatif dalam memahami materi pelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji: 1) pemanfaatan Educandy sebagai media pembelajaran bagi siswa kelas VIII MTs Salafiyah, 2) bentuk-bentuk kebosanan belajar siswa dalam pembelajaran SKI, dan 3) kelebihan serta keterbatasan Educandy dalam proses pembelajaran. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi kelas, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1) Educandy memberikan dampak positif terhadap proses pembelajaran. Platform berbasis permainan ini meningkatkan minat dan pemahaman siswa melalui fitur-fitur seperti Pilihan Ganda, Mencocokkan Pasangan, dan Pencarian Kata yang dapat diakses melalui laptop atau ponsel pintar; 2) manifestasi kebosanan belajar—meliputi kelelahan emosional, fisik, dan kognitif, serta hilangnya motivasi—berkurang secara signifikan berkat suasana belajar yang interaktif dan menyenangkan; dan 3) meskipun platform ini mudah diakses dan memiliki fitur beragam yang meningkatkan partisipasi, Educandy tetap memiliki keterbatasan berupa ketergantungan pada internet, fitur terbatas pada versi gratis, serta tidak tersedianya sistem pelaporan otomatis. Dengan demikian, Educandy paling efektif digunakan sebagai alat pendukung yang diintegrasikan dengan metode pedagogis lainnya untuk memaksimalkan hasil belajar. Kata kunci: Educandy, Kebosanan Belajar, Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam (SKI), Media Pembelajaran Abstract: The prevalence of traditional pedagogical methods, predominantly relying on whiteboards, has resulted in significant student disengagement in Islamic Cultural History (Ind: Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam [SKI]) classes. Preliminary observations indicate that students tend to be passive, unresponsive to inquiry, and lack initiative in comprehending the subject matter. This study aims to investigate: 1) the utilisation of Educandy as a learning medium for Grade VIII students at MTs Salafiyah, 2) the manifestations of student learning boredom in SKI classes, and 3) the specific advantages and limitations of Educandy in the instructional process. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were gathered through classroom observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that: 1) Educandy generates a positive impact on the learning process. This game-based platform enhances student interest and comprehension through accessible features such as Multiple Choice, Matching Pairs, and Word Search via laptops or smartphones; 2) manifestations of learning boredom—including emotional, physical, and cognitive fatigue, as well as demotivation—were significantly minimised due to the interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere; and 3) while the platform offers ease of access and varied features that boost participation, it is constrained by internet dependency, limited features in the free version, and the absence of an automated reporting system. Consequently, Educandy is best utilised as a supplementary tool integrated with other pedagogical methods to maximise learning outcomes.

Abstract

Analisis ini perlu dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi sejauh mana buku-buku tersebut mampu mendukung pencapaian tujuan pendidikan karakter yang diharapkan. Tujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk menganalisis pendidikan karakter yang ada pada buku ajar Al-Qur’an Hadist kelas IX Mts KMA 2019 cetakan Erlangga. Metode yang digunakan adalah kajian pustaka dengan objek kajian buku ajar Al-Qur’an Hadist KMA 2019 untuk MTs kelas 9 terbitan Erlangga. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Buku Al-Qur’an Hadist Mts kelas 9 terbitan Erlangga mencakup beberapa komposisi dalam analisanya, yakni tujuan, materi, metode, media, dan evaluasi. Terkait dengan tujuan dan materi sesuai dengan kompetensi dasar dan kompetensi inti. Sedangkan untuk metode, media dan evaluasi masih bisa dikembangkan agar lebih bervariatif dan komprehensif.

Abstract

Buku teks merupakan sumber belajar, disusun sedemikian rupa dan terstruktur. Buku teks yang baik bukan hanya berisi materi pelajaran yang hanya mengembangkan kecerdasan intelektual, melainkan juga endukung perkembangan fisik, mental, dan karakter. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif-deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kepustakaan (library research). Analisis terkait muatan Kompetensi Inti (KI) dan Kompetensi Dasar (KD), materi ajar dan aktivitas siswa, penggunaan metode/model pembelajaran, penggunaan media pembelajaran dan penggunaan penilaian/evaluasi pembelajaran pada buku ajar Akidah Akhlak MTs Kelas IX yang diterbitkan oleh Direktorat KSKK Madrasah dan Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Islam, Kementerian Agama RI Tahun 2020 diperoleh hasil yang signifikan. Bahwa implementasi pendidikan karakter sedikit banyaknya telah termuat di dalamnya, sehingga penulis meyakini akan kelayakan buku tersebut dalam membentuk dan membina karakter/kepribadian bangsa.

Abstract

Sebuah analisis perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana buku-buku dapat membantu mencapai tujuan pendidikan karakter yang diharapkan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pendidikan karakter yang ada dalam buku ajar SKI kelas IX Mts KMA 2019 cetakan Erlangga. Untuk mencapai tujuan ini, penelitian ini menggunakan metode kajian pustaka dengan objek kajian buku ajar SKI KMA 2019 untuk MTs kelas IX cetakan Erlangga. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar SKI kelas IX cetakan Erlangga mencakup beberapa komponen, termasuk tujuan, materi, metode, media, dan evaluasi. sesuai dengan tujuan dan materi sesuai dengan kompetensi dasar dan kompetensi inti. Namun, metode, media, dan evaluasi masih dapat dikembangkan agar lebih bervariatif dan komprehensif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mengevaluasi pendidikan karakter dalam buku ajar Fikih kelas 9 Madrasah Tsanawiyah yang diterbitkan oleh Direktorat KSKK Madrasah, Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Islam Kementerian Agama RI tahun 2020. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif kualitatif, dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui studi dokumen dan analisis konten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar ini mengandung berbagai nilai karakter penting seperti kelembutan, penghormatan, kasih sayang, peduli, rela berkorban, akhlak mulia, tanggung jawab, kejujuran, dan amanah. Namun, terdapat beberapa kekurangan dalam metode pengajaran, penggunaan media, dan penilaian karakter. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penggunaan metode keteladanan, simulasi, video, dan permainan peran, serta penilaian melalui observasi dan jurnal refleksi untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pendidikan karakter dalam buku ajar tersebut.

Abstract

This research explores the role of logic in the understanding of truth in educational settings, using a hermeneutical-philosophical approach. Logic, as a rational thinking tool, serves to develop students' critical and analytical thinking abilities, while science, through empirical methods, provides an evidence-based framework that supports the understanding of truth. However, the application of logic is often limited to theoretical aspects without a practical context, and science education tends to emphasise memorisation over process exploration. This paper proposes the integration of logic and science through an integrated curriculum, project-based approaches and the use of technology to create a holistic education that supports students' character and critical reasoning. This integration creates harmony between rationality and local values, relevant for 21st century education that respects cultural diversity. This research highlights the challenges of creating an inclusive yet value-based education and offers practical recommendations to improve the relevance of logic in learning.

Abstract

This research aims to identify and analyze the forms of  hate speech found in comment section of Donald Trump’s official X account and examine how language reflects ideological opposition in online political discourse. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method within framework of Discourse Analysis. The data consist of twenty seven comments collected from Trump’s account between May ad July 2024 by high political tension in the United States. This research also applied typology of hate speech classified by Zembylas into five category: insulting, dehumanizing, stereotype, threatening, and exclusionary hate speech. In general, the purpose of this study is to understand how online users express disagreement and hostility linguistic strategies that reflect their social ideological positions. This research provides insight into how hate speech functions within digital communication as both a reflection of political sentiment and as reinforcement of collective identify. This research also emphasizes the important developing social awareness and digital literacy to reduce hostility and more constructive discourse on social media platforms.Keywords: hate speech, critical discourse analysis, social media, donald trump.

Abstract

This study examines the ethics-based teacher recruitment policy at MIS Nurul Amal, particularly the non-smoking requirement for male teachers, as an institutional embodiment of moral values in Islamic education. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that the policy fosters not only a healthy and religious school climate but also a culture of moral exemplarity embedded in teachers’ daily conduct. The analysis incorporates the Islamic concept of uswah hasanah and Sartrean existential ethics concerning individual moral responsibility. The study proposes a conceptual model of character formation through ethical recruitment, offering a replicable framework for other values-based educational institutions.

Abstract

Purpose – The rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education has transformed how students engage with learning tasks, raising concerns about dependency, ethical awareness, and algorithmic bias. From a life-course education perspective, early adulthood represents a critical developmental stage in which patterns of AI use may shape long-term critical thinking and lifelong learning dispositions. However, empirical studies integrating AI dependency, ethical awareness, and algorithmic bias awareness in relation to students’ critical thinking remain limited. This study examines the effects of AI dependency, ethical awareness, and algorithmic bias awareness on university students’ critical thinking skills in the context of Indonesian higher education.Design/methods/approach – A quantitative cross-sectional design was employed. Data were collected from 110 undergraduate students across four universities in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, using purposive sampling. A validated questionnaire measured AI dependency, ethical awareness, algorithmic bias awareness, and critical thinking skills. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS. Findings – The results indicate that all three variables significantly and positively influence students’ critical thinking skills. Algorithmic bias awareness exhibits the strongest effect, followed by AI dependency and ethical awareness. These findings suggest that critical awareness of AI limitations contributes more substantially to critical thinking development than the intensity of AI use alone.Research implications/limitations – The cross-sectional design limits causal interpretation, and the dominance of early-semester STEM students constrains generalizability. Potential moderating factors were not examined. Originality/value – This study contributes to the literature on artificial intelligence in education by integrating ethical awareness and algorithmic bias awareness within a life-course framework, highlighting the central role of critical AI literacy in supporting sustainable critical thinking development in higher education.
