Abstract

Due to changing times, the curriculum must always change, from 2013 to Merdeka. The fundamental question is, what exactly is the basis of the change? Therefore, this article aims to determine what essentially underlies the change from the 2013 curriculum to the Merdeka curriculum. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method with literature analysis. This literature research found that the change occurred to answer the challenges of the existing era and the nature of education itself. The essence of education is to humanize humans, so with the Merdeka curriculum, humans are more human, not depressed, but can develop themselves optimally by being free. The Merdeka curriculum wants students to learn pleasantly rather than be depressed, and educators are expected to educate happily.

Abstract

This Research and Development (RD) aims to develop flashcard media based on the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) method for Civic Education (PPKn) learning in fourth-grade elementary school. The research employed the Research and Development (RD) methodology with the ASSURE model, consisting of Analyze Learners, State Objectives, Select Methods, Media, and Material, Utilize Media and Material, Require Learner Participation, and Evaluate and Revise. The instruments used in this study included interviews and questionnaires. Product validation was conducted by three experts: a subject matter expert, a media expert, and a language expert. The product testing process involved three stages: one-to-one evaluation, small group testing, and field testing. The results of the study indicated that the subject matter validation achieved a percentage of 93.3% (excellent), media validation reached 94.6% (excellent), and language validation scored 82% (excellent). Furthermore, the three stages of product testing yielded an average percentage of 95% (excellent). Therefore, the flashcard media based on the Teams Games Tournament is considered feasible for use as instructional media for teaching Civic Education on the topic of Indonesia's Independence Struggle History in fourth-grade elementary school.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship, position, and role of the philosophy of mathematics in learning mathematics in basic education through the perspective of the scope of philosophy, namely ontological mathematics, epistemological mathematics, and methodological mathematics. This research is a qualitative descriptive research with a literature study approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through the documentation method of articles originating from the Google Scholar database, as well as books related to the philosophy of mathematics. Data analysis techniques consist of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results highlight three main aspects within the scope of the philosophy of mathematics: ontological, epistemological, and methodological. Ontological mathematics addresses the ontological foundations of mathematics for teaching, including the role of mathematics in various contexts. The epistemology of mathematics emphasizes the importance of understanding the discipline from multiple perspectives to enhance learning and curriculum design. Meanwhile, the methodology of mathematics highlights the role of specific methods in determining mathematical solutions. In conclusion, understanding the philosophy of mathematics in these three aspects is important for educators to improve the learning process of mathematics at the primary level comprehensively and optimally.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low reading comprehension ability of students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Muhajirien Jakapermai, which is caused by less effective conventional learning methods. The purpose of this study is to improve the reading comprehension ability of grade V students through the application of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) model. The method used in this study is classroom action research (PTK) which is carried out in three cycles, where each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data was collected through observation, student worksheets (LKS), and reading comprehension tests. The results show that the application of the CIRC model significantly improves students' reading comprehension skills. In the first cycle, the average score of students' reading comprehension was 67.27, with 70% of students achieving a score above the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). In the second cycle, the average score increased to 77.76, with 80% of students achieving scores above the KKM. In the third cycle, the average score reached 83.2, and 90% of students successfully met the KKM. In addition, observations showed increased student engagement and motivation during the learning process, where students were more active in participating in group discussions and reading activities, as well as showing higher self-confidence. The conclusion of this study is that the CIRC model has proven to be effective in improving students' reading comprehension skills. The application of this model not only improves learning outcomes, but also encourages activeness, collaboration, and communication between students. Students show a greater interest in reading and are better able to understand the reading material. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers apply the CIRC model as an alternative in learning to read in the classroom, in order to improve the quality of education and overall student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the feasibility and effectiveness of animated learning video media in improving narrative text writing skills among fourth-grade elementary school students. The background of this research is that writing skills are often regarded as the final skill in the hierarchy of language skills taught in Indonesian language lessons. Writing is the last skill developed after reading, listening, and speaking. Narrative text writing is one of the essential competencies that students must master. Therefore, alternative methods are needed to enhance the teaching of Indonesian language skills, particularly narrative text writing. This necessity drives researchers to develop animated learning videos to make the learning process more enjoyable. The development model employed in this study is ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The findings reveal a significant improvement in narrative text writing skills following trials conducted with fourth-grade elementary school students. Thus, this media can be considered an effective alternative for teaching the Indonesian language. These findings affirm that animated learning videos are a potent tool for enhancing narrative text writing skills in elementary education.

Abstract

This research examines the perception of tolerance of student diversity at SDN Jatinegara Kaum 11 Pagi. Tolerance of diversity is one form of character that reflects human rights values in it. As social beings, students do not live with the same cultural uniformity as themselves, but in the school environment students encounter diversity as plural and multicultural individuals. For this reason, it is very important to instill the character of tolerance of diversity in students in elementary schools as a provision for living in a diverse social environment through the application of multicultural-based education with a recognition theory approach from Axel Honneth. This research uses a quantitative approach. Data collection used purposive sampling research techniques in the form of a questionnaire with a Likert scale model. Data collection was conducted online through the GoogleForm platform in September-November, Data analysis used descriptive statistical techniques. The results of the research conducted show that students' tolerance for diversity has increased at SDN Jatinegara Kaum 11 Pagi, from the percentage of data on the perception of students' tolerance for diversity has increased positively with data on indicators of aspects of peace with the whole statement showing results of 46.5%, on data indicators of aspects of respect for differences and individuals with the whole statement showing results of 43.2%, and on data indicators of aspects of awareness with the whole statement.
