Abstract

Lecturer performance behavior plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality and effectiveness of higher education. While the work environment and motivation have been recognized as key influencing factors, their interactive effects remain underexplored in the literature. This study conducted a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) guided by the PRISMA 2020 framework, analyzing 75 peer-reviewed publications from 2015 to 2024. The literature was sourced from major academic databases including Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and the Indonesian national journal portal (Garuda). Inclusion criteria focused on studies examining lecturer performance behavior in relation to work environment and motivation within higher education contexts. Thematic synthesis revealed two dominant and interrelated factors: (1) the work environment—encompassing academic leadership, institutional support, organizational culture, and infrastructure; and (2) motivation—comprising intrinsic and extrinsic elements. Studies showed that lecturer performance is significantly enhanced when a supportive environment aligns with strong motivational drivers. Conversely, high motivation alone or favorable environments without corresponding motivation often yield limited impact. The findings suggest that lecturer performance behavior is shaped by the dynamic interaction between institutional conditions and motivational mechanisms. This review contributes a more integrative conceptual framework by moving beyond fragmented approaches, highlighting the need for holistic academic human resource strategies. Future research should adopt longitudinal and mixed-methods designs to capture the evolving nature of this interaction over time.

Abstract

The quality of learning remains a key indicator of educational effectiveness, particularly in secondary education. One factor assumed to contribute significantly to learning quality is the effective utilization of learning facilities. However, empirical evidence quantifying this relationship in public senior high schools remains limited. This study employed a quantitative correlational design to examine the relationship between learning facility utilization and learning quality among students in public senior high schools in Serang Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected from 292 students selected through simple random sampling. A structured questionnaire was used as the research instrument. Data analysis included normality and homogeneity tests, Pearson correlation analysis, and simple linear regression. The results indicated that the data met the assumptions for parametric analysis. A strong positive relationship was found between learning facility utilization and learning quality (r = 0.85). The regression analysis produced the equation Ŷ = 30.72 + 0.70X, indicating that increased utilization of learning facilities was associated with higher learning quality. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.85) showed that 85% of the variance in learning quality was explained by learning facility utilization. The t-test confirmed that this relationship was statistically significant at the 0.01 level. These findings demonstrate that effective utilization of learning facilities plays a crucial role in improving learning quality. Optimizing school facilities can therefore enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning processes and should be prioritized in educational management and policy development.

Abstract

As one of the four language skills, writing is considered difficult since it requires the mastery of all other skills. Many students often face difficulties in learning writing, including narrative. To handle this situation, English teachers need to apply innovative teaching methods, such as game-based learning. This study was conducted to investigate the correlation between game-based learning application using Wordwall and students’ writing skills at senior high school level. A quantitative study with correlational design employed where students filled questionnaires on game-based learning application and narrative writing test. Thirty-eight eleventh-graders from a public senior high school in Serang, Banten Province, participated in the study. The data collected were analyzed using Pearson-Product Moment Correlation Test through the SPSS version 27. The results showed that the r-count 0.722 > r-table 0.320 with the Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 < 0.05, indicated a strong positive correlation between game-based learning application and students’ writing skills. It also revealed that game-based learning application contributed for 52.1% to the students’ writing skills, while the rest were influenced by other factors which were not examined in this study. These results suggested that game-based learning application could serve as one of the potential alternative methods to enhance students’ learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of emotional intelligence and work climate on the performance of public junior high school teachers in Balaraja District, Tangerang Regency. Utilizing a quantitative causal research design, this study involved 40 civil servant teachers as respondents selected through simple random sampling techniques. Data were collected using closed-ended questionnaires that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results of multiple regression analysis showed that emotional intelligence has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (p = 0.010). Similarly, work climate was proven to have a highly significant effect on teacher performance (p = 0.000). Simultaneously, these two variables contributed 54.9% to the variation in teacher performance (F{count} = 28.622). These findings indicate that improving individual emotional maturity and creating a conducive work environment are key factors in optimizing educator professionalism. It is recommended that school administrators provide regular emotional intelligence training and organize the organizational climate to maintain teacher performance stability.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI), has influenced the development of literacy and cultural education in Indonesia. This study aims to explore how Indonesian language literacy can be transformed through the integration of Banten’s local wisdom using AI-based approaches. The research adopts a qualitative descriptive method, involving high school and university students in Banten as participants. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that AI applications—such as natural language processing tools, chatbots, and machine learning systems—can serve as effective media for developing contextual and engaging literacy learning. AI supports students in exploring Banten’s cultural elements, such as debus, pantun, and folktales, while enhancing their creativity, comprehension, and critical awareness. However, the study also reveals limitations of AI, particularly its lack of sensitivity to cultural nuances and the risk of overdependence, which may hinder students’ critical thinking. The study concludes that the transformation of Indonesian language literacy through AI is most effective when balanced with teacher guidance and cultural reflection, ensuring that technology reinforces rather than replaces local wisdom and national identity.

Abstract

Based on the constitutional mandate and the promulgation of Governor Regulation No. 52 of 2020, the policy of free education in the Banten Province eliminates the financial barriers of students in Public Senior High School, Public Vocational Senior High School, and Public Special Needs School with the goal of providing equal opportunities and human resource development. This study aimed to investigate the implementation of the policy and its implications for the quality of vocational high schools, which are significant in regional development and labor market integration. Data collection methods employed in the study were observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation using the qualitative descriptive approach. The researcher utilized government publications and foreign literature as sources of information for the study. The analysis of the data collected in the study was underpinned by the theory of policy implementation with emphasis on decentralized governance, administrative capacity, and regulatory clarity. The validity of the study was ensured through triangulation. The results indicate that inter-institutional collaboration, sufficient funding, and the existence of a cogent legal regime are essential for the successful implementation of policies. Although the dropout rates have reduced and access has increased, quality enhancement demands investments in infrastructure, leadership skills, monitoring, and teachers' competence. Further, the financial support must be supplemented with a system of accountability, quality control, and constant evaluation to ensure the effectiveness of the policies in the long term. In the decentralized education system in Banten, in developing countries, the link between equity-oriented funding and results-oriented governance ensures that enrollment is supplemented with significant improvements in learning outcomes and workforce readiness.
