Abstract

Human resources are key to organizational success. A decline in employee performance can result from poor working conditions and excessive workloads. Improvement requires a focus on a supportive work environment and balanced workloads for optimal performance. This study employed multiple linear regression on 52 employees to analyze the relationship between work environment (X1), workload (X2), and employee performance (Y). The results showed a significant influence of the work environment and workload, but these factors only accounted for 33.9% of the total impact on performance, indicating that 66.1% is attributed to other factors. Further studies are needed to understand behavioral changes affecting performance. Companies should prioritize a comfortable work environment, address employee needs, and ensure proper task allocation to achieve service targets.

Abstract

Today's students are understood as second generation digital natives (GDN-2) who are close and accustomed to using social media. Previous research explains digital natives in general, the role of social media in digital natives' daily lives. This study focuses on looking at the janus face of social media in GDN-2, the role of the family and their participation in social media. 308 students were willing to fill out a questionnaire as initial data, then in-depth interviews were conducted (N= 31). The research results show that the benefits of social media for GDN-2 are to share information and opinions, reach consumers and add business ideas, a place to learn and reference material, update information, and build relationships. Social media is detrimental to work and main activities, addiction, wasted time, lazing, having to pay for the internet, and false information. There is a family communication anomaly, parents do not have social media but give advice to their GDN-2 children to use social media wisely. This is then reflected in GDN-2's participation on social media. They are careful about spreading information that is not necessarily true, posting and commenting carefully.

Abstract

This research examines effective strategies applied by volunteers in facing challenges to build sustainable communities based on civic engagement. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, this research explores the in-depth experiences of volunteers involved in handling waste issues in Malang City. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, which were systematically analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that close collaboration with various stakeholders, including the government and local organizations, is key to expanding support and increasing the impact of activities. Regular internal education enhances volunteer capacity, while public campaigns and advocacy drive community awareness and policy change. Community solidarity and emotional support between volunteers play an important role in maintaining collective motivation. Other strategies include flexible time management, task delegation, and utilizing creativity in managing limited resources. Self-management is also crucial in dealing with internal challenges such as social pressure and personal expectations. Volunteers who are able to manage their emotions and stay focused on the organization's vision show higher consistency in action. This research offers practical guidance for social organizations in improving the efficiency and impact of their activities, while contributing to the academic literature on volunteer dynamics in building sustainable communities. The findings underscore the importance of innovation, collaboration and civic engagement-based approaches as a foundation for addressing increasingly complex social and environmental challenges

Abstract

Corruption damages the development of society, so proactive steps are needed to foster integrity from an early age. This study investigates the effectiveness of reinforcing the values of honesty and modesty in elementary school children as anti-corruption role models. The research employed a mixed-methods approach across five schools. Data collection included pre- and post-intervention surveys, behavioral observations, and qualitative interviews with teachers, parents, and students. The findings reveal that curriculum integration, role modeling, and experiential learning significantly enhanced students’ ethical awareness and behaviors. Honesty was reinforced through storytelling and discussions, while simplicity was promoted via community service and creative activities. Quantitative analysis indicated a 25% improvement in honesty-related behaviors and an 18% increase in attitudes favoring simplicity. Parental involvement further amplified these outcomes, creating a cohesive framework for value reinforcement. This study provides a novel contribution by integrating simplicity as an anti-corruption value, addressing materialism as a root cause of unethical behavior. The framework’s success underscores the potential of early education in shaping ethical behaviors, offering valuable insights for policymakers, educators, and researchers. Future research could explore culturally adapted strategies and technological enhancements to optimize impact.
