Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of work motivation, supervision, and employee commitment on work discipline at the Confederation of Indonesian Trade Unions (Konfederasi Serikat Pekerja Seluruh Indonesia). The research adopts a quantitative approach with a causal asositif design to analyze the relationships among variables. The entire population, consisting of 48 employees, was included as research respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression techniques. The results indicate that: (1) work motivation (X1) has a significant and positive effect on employee discipline (Y); (2) supervision (X2) also significantly enhances employee discipline (Y); (3) employee work commitment (X3) exerts a significant positive influence on work discipline (Y); and (4) simultaneously, work motivation, supervision, and employee commitment affect employee discipline, contributing 85.1% to the explained varianc e, while the remaining 14.9% is influenced by other factors beyond the scope of this study. These findings suggest that higher levels of motivation, effective supervision, and stronger commitment contribute to improved employee discipline within the organization.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of compensation, physical work environment, and corporate culture on employee job satisfaction at PT Adira Dinamika Multi Finance Medan 3 branch. This study employed a quantitative approach with an associative method. The research population consisted of 65 employees, with a sample of 65 respondents selected using a saturated sampling technique. Primary data were obtained through the distribution of questionnaires, and the results were processed using SPSS software version 24. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression to examine the relationship between independent variables and the dependent variable. The results showed that compensation, physical work environment, and corporate culture, both partially and simultaneously, had a positive and significant effect on employee job satisfaction. Compensation had a regression value of 0.395, a t-value of 4.877, and a significance value of 0.000. The physical work environment had a regression value of 0.292, a t-value of 3.393, and a significance value of 0.001. Corporate culture had a regression value of 0.236, a t-value of 2.912, and a significance value of 0.005. Simultaneously, the F-value was 233.927 with a significance value of 0.000. Compensation became the most dominant variable influencing job satisfaction with the highest regression value. The coefficient of determination (adjusted R²) of 0.916 indicated that 91.6% of the variation in job satisfaction was explained by the three independent variables. In addition, the strength of the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable was classified as very strong, with a correlation coefficient (R) of 0.959.

Abstract

Teacher performance is a crucial factor in determining the quality of education, as high-performing teachers are able to create effective and innovative learning processes that support students’ competency development. This study aims to analyze the influence of the principal’s charismatic leadership (X₁) and teacher motivation (X₂) on teacher performance (Y) at SMP Panca Budi Medan, as well as to examine the role of motivation as a supporting factor in improving teacher performance. A quantitative approach with an associative explanatory method was employed, involving all 40 teachers of SMP Panca Budi Medan as the research sample. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity), multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing through partial (t-test) and simultaneous (F-test) analyses. The results indicate that all research instruments are valid and highly reliable, with Cronbach’s Alpha values of 0.977 for X₁, 0.968 for X₂, and 0.962 for Y. The classical assumption tests were fulfilled, indicating that the regression model is appropriate for analysis. Multiple regression analysis reveals that charismatic leadership has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (B = 0.965; Sig. = 0.000), while teacher motivation also shows a positive effect but is not statistically significant (B = 0.049; Sig. = 0.267). The F-test demonstrates that X₁ and X₂ simultaneously have a significant effect on Y (F = 174.318; Sig. = 0.000), with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.904. These findings confirm that charismatic leadership is the primary factor in enhancing teacher performance, while motivation functions as a supporting factor that strengthens the influence of leadership. Principals who demonstrate charismatic leadership while providing motivational support can foster greater teacher professionalism and improve the overall quality of learning.

Data were collected through questionnaires using a five-point Likert scale. The data analysis method used was multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of SPSS software, encompassing the t-test (partial), F-test (simultaneous), and coefficient of determination (R²) test. The results showed that partially, work culture had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction with a t-count of 3.848 > t-table of 2.019 and a significance of 0.000 < 0.05. Work discipline also had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction with a t-count of 3.437 > t-table of 2.019 and a significance of 0.001 < 0.05. Meanwhile, compensation did not have a significant effect on job satisfaction with a t-count of 1.742 < t-table of 2.019 and a significance of 0.089 > 0.05. Simultaneously, work culture, compensation, and work discipline had a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction with an F-count of 55.404 > F-table of 2.83 and a significance of 0.000 < 0.05. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.788 indicates that the three independent variables were able to explain 78.8% of the variation in employee job satisfaction, while the remaining 21.2% was explained by other factors outside the research model.

Abstract

PT. Ukindo Blankahan Mill, a company engaged in the palm oil industry and plantations, has faced a significant decline in performance and productivity, with production achievements falling short of company targets from 2021 to 2023. This decline in performance is influenced by various factors, including leadership style and employee compensation. This study aims to analyze the impact of leadership style and compensation on employee performance at PT. Ukindo Blankahan Mill. The research seeks to understand the extent to which these two factors contribute to improving employee performance and productivity. This study employs a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis. Data were collected through surveys, observations, and documentation from 119 employees of PT. Ukindo Blankahan Mill, with a sample of 54 employees selected using stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire measuring leadership style, compensation, and employee performance. Data were analyzed using validity and reliability tests, as well as classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity) and multiple linear regression analysis. The study found that the leadership style variable was mostly valid with three significant indicators. However, the compensation variable did not show adequate validity for all tested items. Reliability tests indicated that the leadership style variable had acceptable internal consistency, while the compensation and employee performance variables showed low reliability. These findings underscore the importance of effective leadership style and compensation in enhancing employee performance, and highlight the need for improvements in the company’s compensation system.
