Abstract

Air pollution is one of the most pressing environmental issues with significant impacts on human health. This study aims to examine the relationship between air pollution levels and human health disorders, as well as to identify effective mitigation solutions. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through literature reviews from various journals, WHO reports, and other official sources. The analysis shows that exposure to air pollutants, particularly fine particulate matter (PM2.5), carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, and ozone, can trigger respiratory, cardiovascular, and mental health disorders, and adversely affect children and pregnancies. These impacts are both short-term and long-term, including increased premature mortality and reduced quality of life. To minimize these effects, strategic solutions are needed, such as strengthening emission regulations, promoting eco-friendly transportation, using air purifiers, developing green open spaces, and providing public education. This study emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the government, society, and the private sector in creating clean air and a sustainably healthy environment.

Abstract

This article focuses on assessing how well the Jigsaw method of cooperative learning enhances educational achievements among elementary school students, based on several prior studies. The research involved a review of literature that included seven investigations related to the use of the Jigsaw method in subjects such as science, social studies, mathematics, civics, and the Indonesian language at the elementary level. The findings indicated that implementing this model can reliably boost the average score, completion rates, retention of information, and student engagement during lessons. Furthermore, the Jigsaw approach fosters teamwork among students and encourages them to share their thoughts confidently. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Jigsaw cooperative learning method is effective in enhancing student academic performance and is advisable as a strategy for active learning in classrooms.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Pengembangan minat dan bakat anak adalah elemen penting dalam pendidikan yang dapat memengaruhi pertumbuhan mereka di masa depan. Sekolah berkontribusi dengan menyediakan kurikulum yang bervariasi, kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, dan pendekatan yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan masing-masing siswa. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran krusial sekolah dalam mengembangkan minat dan bakat anak di tingkat Sekolah Dasar (SD). Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, kuesioner dan pengumpulan dokumen. Hasil dan Pembahasan : Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan dan workshop yang berfokus pada pengembangan keterampilan tertentu, serta kerjasama yang baik antara sekolah dan orang tua, juga merupakan faktor penting dalam mendukung proses ini. Lingkungan yang mendukung di sekolah dapat mendorong anak untuk menjelajahi dan berkreasi, sehingga mereka dapat menemukan dan mengasah potensi mereka. Kesimpulan : Penelitian ini menekankan bahwa peran sekolah sangat penting dalam membantu anak-anak berkembang menjadi individu yang berprestasi, bahagia, dan percaya diri.

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Perilaku anti sosial adalah perilaku-perilaku yang menyimpang dari norma-norma, baik aturan keluarga, sekolah, masyarakat, maupun hukum. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merumuskan faktor-faktor penyebab perilaku antisosial pada peserta didik. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik Sekolah Dasar Negeri yang berada di Kota Padang Sumatera Barat yang menunjukkan perilaku anti sosial. Hasil dan Pembahasan : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku antisosial yang dominan muncul pada peserta didik adalah melanggar peraturan di sekolah, melakukan pengerusakan fasilitas sekolah, serta melakukan tindakan menarik diri dari lingkungan. Terjadinya perilaku anti sosial dalam diri peserta didik sekolah dasar yaitu disebabkan karena beberapa faktor diantaranya adalah faktor pribadi, faktor keluarga, faktor yang berkaitan dengan sekolah, dan faktor sosial. Kesimpulan : Salah satu cara untuk mengatasi perilaku anti sosial yaitu dengan cara memberikan pola disiplin yang konsisten kepada anak.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students caused by the lack of learning activities involving students, as the learning process is still centered on the teacher. This makes students less active in participating in learning. This study aims to describe the improvement in student learning outcomes in Pancasila and Citizenship Education learning using the Inquiry model assisted by audio-visual media in class IV of SDN 16 Padang Besi, Padang City. The type of research used is classroom action research (CAR) with qualitative and quantitative approaches, carried out in two cycles. The research procedure consists of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data obtained are related to learning outcomes using the Inquiry model assisted by audio-visual media. Data collection techniques include observation, tests, and non-tests. The research subjects involved class teachers as observers, researchers as practitioners, and 26 class IV students. The results of the study show that: first, the cycle I teaching module obtained an average of 85.3% (B), increasing in cycle II to 95% (SB). Second, the implementation results of the teacher's learning aspects in cycle I reached 82% (B), increasing in cycle II to 96% (SB). Third, the implementation results of the students' learning aspects in cycle I were 82% (B), increasing to 96% (SB) in cycle II. Fourth, the average student learning outcomes in cycle I were 77 (C), increasing to 89 (B) in cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that the Inquiry model can improve student learning outcomes in Pancasila and Citizenship Education learning.

Abstract

Weather and seasons play an important role in elementary school learning to increase students' awareness and concern for the environment from an early age. Students are taught to understand the relationship between weather phenomena and seasonal changes and how both affect the environment. The purpose of this article is to explain why the topic of weather and seasons is important for elementary school education, examine the learning approaches that can be used, and show how this learning can encourage students to care about the environment. It is hoped that this article will help PGSD students as prospective educators in creating learning that is not only cognitive but also affective and psychomotor. This is based on the theory of contextual learning and character education.

Abstract

This research aims to examine how elementary school teachers enhance students’ reading skills using Indonesian folklore as a learning medium. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach, with data gathered through classroom observations, teacher interviews, and analysis of instructional materials. The results indicate that teachers apply various contextual teaching strategies, including guided reading, storytelling, group discussions, and vocabulary development using folklore texts. These methods help foster student engagement and improve reading comprehension. The study highlights the importance of integrating local cultural content into literacy instruction at the primary education level.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate how well interactive learning materials can raise elementary school pupils' motivation and interest in learning. Animation films, instructional games, and simulations are examples of interactive learning materials that offer students a familiar, dynamic, and developmentally appropriate learning experience. Using a qualitative approach and a literature review strategy, the study examined material from a range of pertinent sources, including books, journals, and research reports. According to the study's findings, students who actively interact with interactive media can become more involved in the learning process. Additionally, it offers instant feedback, which increases self-confidence, helps pupils understand their progress, and fortifies their enthusiasm to learn.

Abstract

The Covid that hit Indonesia has made everything we do change drastically. There are many rules in our daily lives such as wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance. In addition, all areas of life are also affected, the most affected is in the field of education. The impact of covid 19 is certainly very influential for schools, even universities because online learning is carried out, this is certainly very impactful. In addition to having a great impact on online learning, there are also obstacles in implementing it, for example, students do not have mobile phones, or teachers are not proficient in using IT-based technology and many more. The impact of online learning is very diverse, the most affected is elementary school, because it is in elementary school that we start everything, both lessons and socializing. The impact of online learning, especially at the elementary level, is that students become lazy in learning, students are bored while studying, the lessons learned do not enter the brain due to lack of explanation by the teacher, student association becomes less and so on.

Abstract

Learning motivation has a strong relationship with academic achievement in science subjects in elementary schools. Learning motivation refers to the drive that comes from within the students or from their surrounding environment that encourages them to learn. This study employs a literature review method to examine the relationship between learning motivation and students' academic achievement in science subjects in elementary schools. The results show that high learning motivation will encourage students to be more diligent, persistent, and enthusiastic in learning science. Active involvement in the learning process, ability to manage study time, and perseverance in completing science assignments will positively impact the attainment of optimal academic achievement in science subjects in elementary schools.
