Abstract

Background: Mentally retarded children have a disorder at a level of intelligence below the average normal child. RM children have difficulty in arranging the form and structure of sentences. Children with RM need to get speech therapy to improve language disorders so that they become productive and improve language skills. The importance of applying lips reading can stimulate language skills so that they can arrange words and string words in sentences. Based on a preliminary study in June 2019 of five (SLB) in Yogyakarta SLBN Pembina, SLBN 1 Bantul, SLBN Sewon Bantul, SLBN Sleman and SLB Rela Bhakti I Gamping. Observations during learning in special schools found that (100%) of five special schools used sign language, they had not been trained using the Lips Reading method. Objectives: To know the influence of lips reading on the language ability of mentally retarded children in special schools. Methods: The type of research was quasi-experimental with pre-test post-test with control group design. The sample was taken by purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using t-test, Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney. Results: The language ability of RM children in Special Schools of Yogyakarta between the experimental and control groups with p value <0.05. Conclusion: There is an influence of Lips Reading on the Language Ability of Mentally Retarded Children in Special Schools Keywords: lips reading; language ability; mentally retarded children; fruit-vegetable-flower picture

User resistance is users’ opposition to system implementation. Resistance often occurs as a result of a mismatch between management goals and employee preferences. There are two types of resistance to health iformation system namely active resistance and passive resistance. The manifestation of active resistance are being critical,  blaming/accusing, blocking, fault finding, sabotaging, undermining, ridiculing, intimidating/threatening, starting rumors, appealing to fear, manipulating arguing, using facts selectively, distorting facts and  raising objections. The manifestation of passive resistance are agreeing verbally but not following through, failing to implement change, procrastinating/dragging feet, feigning ignorance, withholding information, suggestions, help or support, and standing by and allowing the change to fail.   Keywords: Health information systems, User Resistance, Active resistance, Passive resistance

Abstract

Early marriage can cause several negative impacts, including vulnerability to incidents of domestic violence, an increased risk of dying during pregnancy and childbirth, and cutting off opportunities to continue education. By looking at some of the negative impacts as described above, prevention of early marriage is a very important effort in order to improve the reproductive health of the nation's future generations. That is why efforts to reduce the rate of early marriage are one of the main programs in the Department of Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection in Blitar Regency, Indonesia. In order to participate in increasing the achievement of the aforementioned program, it is necessary to conduct a study to describe the achievement of the program to reduce the early marriage rate in Blitar Regency, so that in turn a recommendation can be proposed for improving strategies so that a reduction in the rate of early marriage in Blitar Regency can be realized in next year. This study is a descriptive study that aims to describe the achievement of the “Population, Family Planning and Family Development” program of the Department of Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection of Blitar Regency, in 2018, especially efforts to reduce the rate of early marriage. This study was conducted during November 2018 in the working area of the Department of Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection in Blitar Regency. The variable in this study is the age of marriage. Data was collected through a documentation study of secondary data in the form of raw data that is already available at the Department of Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection of Blitar Regency. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistical methods, which consisted of the proportion of incidence of early marriage according to month-based time, prediction of the proportion of incidence of early marriage in the future (month-based), and the proportion of early marriage incidence according to sub-district-based clusters. The results showed that: 1) the proportion of the incidence of early marriage from month to month was not much different, with irregular fluctuations, 2) based on the proportion of early marriages per month, a trend line was drawn in the form of a polynomial equation, namely: y = 0.0011x2 - 0.0123x + 0.1357, 3) the average incidence of early marriage was 11.01, the sub-districts that had a high proportion of early marriage were Udanawu, Srengat, Kademangan, Bakung, Kanigoro, Garum, Sutojayan, Wlingi and Selopuro Districts. Furthermore, it was concluded that early marriage in Blitar Regency has an increasing trend, with a striking difference between sub-districts with the highest and lowest incidence of early marriage. Methods: The type of this research was observational analytic with cross sectional design. The sample zize was 95 respondents, selected using systematic random sampling. The categorical data were analyzed using descriptive statistics in the form of frequency and percentage, then analyzed using Chi-square test and logistic regression test. Results: The p-value of childbirth assurance was 0.003 (OR 0.098, 95% CI: 0.019 to 0.509), the p-value of the distance of residence was 0.498 (OR 1.822 95% CI 0.428 to 7.761), p-value of the travel time was 0.710 (OR 1.292 95% CI 0.299 to 5.583), the p-value of customs of the people in choosing the place of labor was 0.010 (13.833 OR 95% CI 2.282 to 83.861). The result of logistic regression test showed that childbirth assurance and customs of the people in choosing where labor was the strongest determinant to use birth place. Conclusion: Childbirth assurance and community habits in choosing the place of delivery had a significant correlation with the use of delivery place. Abstract

Background: According to Wong (2013), in 5 million children in the United States the prevalence of enuresis in children aged 5 years is 7% for men and 3% for girls, in children aged 10 years the prevalence is 3% for boys and 2% for girls, in children aged 18 years the prevalence is 1% for boys and is very rare for girls. The role of nurses as educators is to assist clients in increasing the level of health knowledge, symptoms of illness and even actions given, so that behavior changes occur from clients after health education is done. One effort that can be done as a function of nurses is to educate children how to deal with enuresis by providing toilet training. Based on a preliminary study conducted, the data showed that the number of toddlers (1-3 years) in early childhood education in Yogyakarta was 100 people consisting of 55 men and 45 women. . From the results of observations and information from Early Childhood Education teachers obtained data from 100 toddlers aged 1-3 years, there were 90 toddlers aged 1-3 years (90%) who were in Early Childhood Education were still using posters. Purpose: The influence of potty chair training on family empowerment in toilet training toddler (1-3 years) in early childhood education. Methods: Type of research quasi experiment with pre test post test with control group design. This design had a comparison group (control), observations were made twice. The first observation was to find out family empowerment in toilet training for toddlers (1-3 years) in early childhood education before being given training using a potty chair and a second observation after being given training using a potty chair. Sampling was done by purposive sampling with the criteria of mothers who have toddlers (1-3 years) in early childhood education. Data from the examination results were analyzed analytically using the t-test and Wilcoxon test. Results: Family empowerment in toilet training for toddlers in the experimental group or pre-test and post-test treatment with p = 0,00 and in the control group with p = 0,00. Conclusion: There is an effect of potty chair training on family empowerment in toilet toddler training (1-3 years) Early Childhood Education. Keywords: potty chair training; family empowerment; toilet training; early childhood education
