Abstract

Understanding of mathematical concepts is still low among students at both primary and secondary levels. The use of a learning approach must be the main concern to obtain a good understanding of the concept. This research is to find out whether students' understanding of mathematical concepts is taught using an understanding of mathematical concepts taught using a conventional approach. The population in this study was all 30 class XI PAB HELVETIA students. Class sampling was carried out using a random sampling technique which began with testing class equality. Data was collected using instruments in the form of descriptions and using test techniques. The results of the research show that students' understanding of mathematical concepts taught using a conventional approach is still not good for students' understanding in learning geometry.

Abstract

Mathematics is a basic science that can be used to solve problems in many other fields of science. However, the fact is that there are still many mathematics learning activities in the field that cause a higher level of learning difficulty than other subjects. Students' inability to complete assignments given by the teacher can also be interpreted as learning difficulties. Students also believe that mathematics is a difficult subject to learn. In accordance with the causal factors, a learning problem solving strategy is an approach chosen and used by an educator to deliver lesson material with the aim of making it easier for students to accept and understand the material and ultimately achieve learning goals.

Abstract

Self-efficacy is a strong influence that shows students' self-confidence, where the effectiveness of self-efficacy in elementary school students in solving problems in mathematics learning can be seen from the results obtained when self-efficacy is good. This research aims to analyze the level of self-confidence or confidence of students regarding the abilities they have in terms of learning mathematics. The results of the analysis in this study show that there are students with several criteria that are produced, namely, how much the students consider the level of difficulty of the task being faced by the students, the sense of ability that students have when dealing with mathematical problems and knowing how much students feel confident. himself with his abilities. The results of the analysis in this study show how much self-confidence students have as explained in the results section of this study when faced with mathematical problems, students will not easily give up or avoid tasks given by the teacher if they have tried hard and the task is difficult to complete. completed, then they may give up if the task is too difficult.

Abstract

This research explores the implementation of a peer assessment model for evaluating mathematics learning as an innovative approach to enhance student understanding and classroom dynamics. Using qualitative methods, the study employs classroom observations, document analysis, and interviews with teachers and students to assess the impact of the model. Results indicate that the peer assessment model fosters student collaboration in the mathematics teaching and learning process. Improved social interaction positively influences concept understanding, with students actively contributing to building collective knowledge. Despite increasing student engagement, challenges such as unequal comprehension levels and the need for additional teacher support were identified. Adaptation for effective integration into the existing mathematics curriculum is necessary, considering students' individual differences. The research affirms that the peer assessment model not only gauges students' final understanding but also underscores the learning process itself. Emphasizing the development of interpersonal and collaboration skills leads to a dynamic learning environment. Consequently, this study recognizes the potential of the peer assessment model as an innovative evaluation tool in mathematics learning. Although adjustments and addressing emerging challenges are required, the model holds promise for significant changes in the evaluation and teaching of mathematics, contributing to a more holistic and contextual approach to learning.

Abstract

Leadership in managing responsibility has a significant effect on achieving success and is a determining factor in improving or decreasing the quality of performance led. An ideal leader is able to have a positive impact on performance. Teachers, as part of the educational staff, play a very important role in the formation of human resources in the world of education. The quality of school education is greatly influenced by the competence of teachers in carrying out their duties. Improving the quality of teachers is very important because of the weaknesses in the teacher's soul itself. Teacher performance is the result of implementing a plan that has been prepared based on the teacher's skills, experience, sincerity, competence, motivation, and responsibility in achieving goals. This includes the tasks of educating, teaching, guiding, directing, training, and evaluating students to achieve the quality and quality of learning. The focus of this literature review is on the role of principal leadership in improving teacher performance in schools, based on published articles. This study uses a literature review methodology as part of its research investigation. The analysis method collects information about decision making and the role of leaders from books and journals to conduct a literature study. There are various resources available for literature studies, such as books, journals, notes, the internet, and libraries. This study discusses the role of principal leadership on teacher performance in public schools. The research data was taken from various sources, including books, journals, and previous research. This study uses qualitative methods.
