Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the use of scenario-based reflection as a qualitative approach to strengthening coordination in early childhood education and achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 on quality education. Through semi-structured interviews and reflective scenarios involving 48 participants (educators, caregivers, and policymakers), the research explored ethical reasoning and collaborative problem-solving within service integration. Findings reveal that participants gained deeper awareness of moral responsibility and professional accountability when confronted with realistic dilemmas, such as unequal resource allocation or family-school conflicts. One educator noted, “Reflecting on justice made me rethink fairness in daily teaching decisions.” Because reflection stimulates empathy and shared ethical understanding, scenario-based learning fosters stronger intersectoral trust and responsive decision-making. The study concludes that integrating faith-informed reflection, guided by Islamic principles of amanah (trust) and adl (justice), enhances both coordination and moral integrity in early education systems aligned with SDG 4.

No sampling was done as the population was of a manageable size, the researcher used all populations. The researcher instrument used for data collection was a structured questionnaire that contained 40 e-learning technology resources on a four-point Likert-rating scale. Mean and standard deviation were used to answer the two research questions raised for the study. The result findings revealed that e-learning technology resources are not readily available and the few available ones are not adequately utilised for the teaching of Business Education subjects in Colleges of Education in Niger State. It was concluded that lecturers need to effectively utilize the few available e-learning technology resources for the teaching and learning of Business education subjects in Colleges of Education in Niger State. It was recommended among others that Lecturers should be more motivated by governments to use the available e-learning technology resources to foster effective delivery of teaching and learning.

Abstract

This study examines the predictors of language acquisition success in Indonesian multilingual classrooms through the lens of major language acquisition theories, particularly social interactionist and cognitive perspectives. A quantitative approach was adopted, employing secondary data analysis from standardised language assessments of 100 secondary school students. Multiple regression analysis was used to explore the predictive effects of key variables, including socioeconomic status, prior academic performance, motivation, prior language exposure, cognitive abilities, and classroom teaching methods. Findings reveal that motivation, prior exposure, cognitive abilities, and collaborative learning strategies are stronger predictors of language proficiency than socioeconomic background. Moreover, informal learning environments and community support significantly enhanced students’ language development, underscoring the value of social interactionist perspectives. These results challenge the prevailing assumption that socioeconomic status is the primary determinant of language success and instead emphasise context-specific and learner-driven factors. The study highlights practical implications for language educators and policymakers: designing integrated curricula that combine formal and informal learning opportunities, prioritising motivational and collaborative teaching strategies, and developing early predictive models to identify at-risk learners. By reframing the predictors of language success, this research provides actionable insights for advancing multilingual education policy and practice in Indonesia and beyond.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the strategies employed by churches in Nigeria—particularly in Abuja and Lagos—in responding to the challenges of secularisation, a process that reduces the societal significance of religion. As secular ideologies and materialist values reshape public consciousness, churches must adapt to remain socially relevant, especially among youth increasingly disengaged from traditional worship. Using a qualitative research design, this study integrates focus group discussions, participant observations, and secondary literature to explore how churches adopt innovative worship practices, digital technologies, and community engagement programs. Data were analysed using thematic analysis and interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA), allowing for in-depth interpretation of institutional and individual responses. Findings reveal that churches in both cities are implementing a multifaceted strategy: digital tools to attract younger audiences, community service programs to enhance public trust, and theological revisions to address ethical issues like inclusivity, social justice, and ecological responsibility. These adaptations have led to increased engagement, a stronger sense of belonging among congregants, and expanded the churches’ social roles. The study contributes to existing literature by offering a holistic understanding of church responses in a non-Western context. It highlights how the synergy between worship innovation, community service, and theological flexibility enables churches to survive and thrive in a secular environment. This research offers practical implications for church leaders, policymakers, and scholars interested in the evolving role of religion in society. The originality of this study lies in its integrated approach to secularisation and adaptation within African urban religious institutions, providing insights often overlooked in Western-centric research.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of technology has transformed educational environments, making Learning Management Systems (LMS) a pivotal tool for facilitating personalised learning experiences. This research explores LMS’s effectiveness in enhancing student engagement and academic performance while identifying essential skills educators need to harness these technologies effectively. A systematic literature review was conducted, analysing existing studies on LMS, personalised learning, and educator competencies. The findings reveal that LMS significantly improve customised learning through adaptive learning pathways, gamification and increased accessibility. Educators with digital literacy, data-driven decision-making and collaborative learning strategies are better positioned to create engaging learning environments and improve student outcomes. However, technological barriers and the need for ongoing professional development persist. The study concludes that while LMS hold great promise, addressing these challenges is crucial for maximising their potential. This research contributes to the field by providing a comprehensive understanding of how LMS can be effectively utilised in educational settings, highlighting the importance of equipping educators with the necessary skills. The insights gained from this study can inform academic institutions and policymakers in designing and implementing training programs, ensuring that educators and learners can thrive in increasingly digital learning environments. Ultimately, this research emphasises the vital role of LMS in shaping the future of education and the need for continuous adaptation and improvement in teaching practices.
