Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the test items in the midterm assessment using the Rasch model in terms of validity, reliability, level of difficulty, discriminating power, and the effectiveness of distractors in class VII science questions at SMP Yapis Manokwari. This research is a quantitative research that uses descriptive quantitative methods with data collection techniques using documentation. Respondent data were 60 students with purposive sampling. The items used in the Mid Semester Assessment are 40 questions. From the validity test, it was found that the suitability level of the items was 35 questions that were fit and 5 questions that were not fit. Student reliability 0.81 means good, item reliability item 0.92 means very good and reliability between students with item 0.83 means special. The level of difficulty of the questions is in the medium category, which means that the questions are good. The discriminating power of the items obtained is that 2 items (5%) are in the very good category, 30 items (75%) are in the good category, 4 items (10%) are in the sufficient category, and 4 items (10%) are bad category, from the items it has succeeded in identifying the distinguishing power of students divided into 3 groups in the category of above average ability, average ability, and below average ability. The effectiveness of the distractor of the 40 questions in the test generally functions well. The conclusion is that the analysis of the items using the Rasch model in the midterm assessment is stated to be valid, reliable, the level of difficulty of the items is very good, the discriminating power is very good, and the effectiveness of the distractors obtained is in the good category.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to introduce and develop the potential of sukun (breadfruit) as a raw material for tea production, emphasising the aspects of health, economy, and cultural preservation. Sukun, which has long been known as a traditional food plant, has various benefits that are not widely acknowledged, especially in the form of tea. The program involved the local community in training focused on processing sukun into high-value tea products. In addition, education was provided on packaging and marketing techniques, to enhance the competitiveness of sukun tea products in modern markets. The results of this activity show an increase in community awareness regarding the economic value of sukun, as well as the development of innovative and high-quality sukun tea products, which can be an alternative healthy beverage and support local economic sustainability. Through an integrative approach, this program succeeded in exploring local potential and combining it with modern innovation, thereby revitalizing traditional culinary heritage in a form that aligns with today’s needs.

Abstract

The suitability of technology can only be assessed in the context of the overall process of social and economic development. Means of assessment include technology assessment where one examines the broad impact of a technology, and socio-economic opportunity analysis where one starts from social needs and looks for technological solutions. The integration and balance of different levels of technology is as important as the selection of individual technologies. Superior Engineers in the 21st Century do not design for the community, but design with the community and enable design by the community. With the right training and education, engineers can help change communities for the better by equipping community members to meet their own needs and implement their own design responses. Higher Education Institutions are present in society and have a very big role in building the nation, Higher Education also occupies a strategic position in making changes in society through the function of transforming Human Resources (HR), Science and Technology (IPTEK) and social through the implementation of Tridharma activities which includes education, research and community service. With this background, the Raja Ali Haji Maritime University Maritime Engineering Study Program carries out Community Service in the form of Appropriate Technology (TTG) training in the form of ship model making training or known as Hydromodelling at the Hang Tuah Tanjung Uban Naval Vocational School, Bintan, Riau Islands. The training stages include introducing maritime insight and technology, explaining ship parts and then providing training related to ship design and production. The training has received a good response from the school and the students showed enthusiasm in carrying out each stage of the training.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the tolerance attitudes of students in Islamic boarding schools, focusing on three aspects: peace, respect for differences and individuals, and awareness. The research method is descriptive quantitative, utilizing a Likert scale questionnaire for data collection. Results indicate that 48% of students exhibit very high tolerance in the peace aspect, while 52% show high tolerance. Regarding respect for differences and individuals, 55% of students demonstrate very high tolerance and 45% show high tolerance. In the awareness aspect, 59% of students display very high tolerance, and 41% show high tolerance. Overall, 60% of students have a very high tolerance attitude, and 40% show a high tolerance attitude. These findings highlight that Islamic boarding schools foster an environment conducive to developing academically proficient students with strong religious and tolerant attitudes. The implication is that Islamic boarding schools play a vital role in shaping students who are not only academically capable but also possess strong religious and tolerant attitudes. This suggests that an educational approach integrating Islamic spiritual values with general knowledge can be an effective model for fostering a more inclusive and socially aware generation. Furthermore, this model demonstrates the potential of education to serve as a bridge for understanding and respecting cultural and religious diversity, equipping students with the skills and values needed to contribute positively to a pluralistic society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of students' attitudes towards anti-corruption and deradicalization education based on the principle of amar ma'ruf nahi munkar. Using a mixed methods approach with an explanatory sequential design, this study begins with a quantitative method to measure the relationship between students' attitudes and anti-corruption and deradicalization education through the Spearman correlation test, which is continued with a qualitative method to explore students' attitudes more deeply through interviews and observations. The results of the quantitative analysis show that there is no significant relationship between students' attitudes towards anti-corruption and deradicalization education (sig. = 0.495 > 0.05) with a very weak negative correlation value (-0.143). This finding indicates that changes in students' attitudes do not have a significant effect on the effectiveness of anti-corruption and deradicalization education. However, the results of the interviews showed that students have a good conceptual understanding of amar ma'ruf nahi munkar, but its application in supporting anti-corruption and deradicalization education is still influenced by social and cultural factors. Therefore, a more contextual and experience-based approach in anti-corruption and deradicalization education is needed so that students are more proactive in implementing the principles of amar ma'ruf nahi munkar in everyday life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the correlation between students' understanding of Islamic legal ethics with anti-corruption and deradicalization education. Using a mixed methods approach with explanatory sequential design, this study combines quantitative analysis using the Spearman correlation test and qualitative analysis through interviews and observations. The results of the study indicate that there is no significant relationship between understanding of Islamic legal ethics with anti-corruption and deradicalization education, as indicated by a significance value of 0.827 (> 0.05) and a correlation coefficient of -0.032 which describes a very weak and negative relationship. This finding supports Alatas' opinion (2006) that understanding ethics and morals is not always directly proportional to real actions in fighting corruption and radicalism. Therefore, it is recommended that anti-corruption and deradicalization education prioritize an applicative approach based on experience and real case studies to increase its effectiveness. Therefore, educational institutions are expected to be able to design a more integrative and multidimensional curriculum to achieve more optimal results in anti-corruption and deradicalization learning.
