Abstract

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to develop career module for deaf students using the Design-Based Research (DBR) approach. This study used a literature review method to analyse and synthesize previous research related to the development of career module for deaf students. The module is designed to address challenges such as communication barriers, limited vocational training, and social stigma faced by deaf students. Through a literature review method, the researcher explores various academic sources, including scholarly journals, books, and research articles, to build a theoretical framework and identify gaps in previous educational approaches. The module integrates career development theories, self-efficacy, and a multimodal approach to offer a more inclusive, authentic, and adaptive learning solution. The findings indicate that the success of this module is supported by the involvement of multiple stakeholders such as teachers, parents, and students, enriching the learning process. This module is also designed to promote the sustainability of inclusive education through the active engagement of various stakeholders. These findings contribute significantly to the improvement of inclusive education policies in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study investigates teachers’ needs for AI-supported integrated career guidance services. A total of 234 teachers from various regions in Indonesia participated, each with more than five years of experience teaching at junior high, senior high, or vocational schools. Using a needs-analysis questionnaire with both open- and closed-ended questions, the study found that while most teachers considered current career guidance services adequate, many expressed a strong interest in AI integration. When asked specifically about using AI in career counseling, 60.3% said it was highly necessary. Teachers also identified key features they would want in an AI-based system, including automatic interest and aptitude assessments (81.6%), student data–based career or major recommendations (81.2%), career mapping and self-development planning (69.7%), and real-time information on job markets and higher education (57.3%). These findings suggest that teachers are aware of the limitations of existing services and see significant potential in AI-driven platforms to enhance career guidance.

Abstract

Final-year students often experience anxiety when facing the transition to the workforce due to various challenges, including career uncertainty and inadequate preparation. This study aims to examine the influence of career decision-making self-efficacy and adversity quotient on anxiety in facing the world of work among final-year students. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed. The population comprised 2,024 final-year students from the Faculty of Education at the State University of Jakarta, and a sample of 334 students was selected using quota sampling. Data were collected using three validated psychological scales and analyzed with multiple linear regression in SPSS version 27. The results indicate that career decision-making self-efficacy and adversity quotient simultaneously have a significant influence on work-related anxiety (F = 769.856, p < 0.001). Partially, career decision-making self-efficacy showed a dominant effect (t = 36.418, p < 0.001), while adversity quotient also demonstrated a significant but smaller contribution (t = 2.469, p = 0.014). The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.823) reveals that both variables collectively explain 82.3% of the variance in work-related anxiety. These findings suggest that students with higher career decision-making self-efficacy and adversity intelligence tend to experience more manageable levels of anxiety when preparing to enter the workforce. This study contributes to guidance and counseling by emphasizing the need to develop self-efficacy and adversity quotient through targeted interventions. Future research is encouraged to explore additional variables and broader populations. Keywords: adversity intelligence, anxiety in facing the world of work, self-efficacy in career decision-making

Abstract

Mental health problems among Indonesian high school students may interfere with academic functioning, social adjustment, and overall well-being, yet schools still lack multidimensional instruments that are culturally appropriate for early identification. This study aimed to adapt and validate the Indonesian version of the Counseling Center Assessment of Psychological Symptoms (CCAPS-Indo) for use with high school students. The original CCAPS-62 was translated, back-translated, and reviewed for cultural relevance before psychometric testing. Data were collected from 450 students enrolled in senior high schools and vocational high schools in Jakarta, Indonesia. Construct validity was examined using second-order confirmatory factor analysis, while composite reliability and average variance extracted were used to evaluate reliability and convergent validity. The refined model retained 42 items across eight dimensions. Most model-fit indices indicated acceptable to good fit, including ?2/df, GFI, CFI, TLI, NFI, IFI, RMSEA, and SRMR, although AGFI remained below the preferred threshold. Standardized loading factors for retained items ranged from 0.55 to 0.98, and composite reliability values ranged from 0.66 to 0.91. These findings suggest that the CCAPS-Indo demonstrates acceptable psychometric performance for assessing psychological symptoms among Indonesian high school students. The instrument may therefore be used as a school-based screening tool to support early identification and intervention, although further validation with broader and more diverse samples is still needed

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of positive body image among senior high school students in one of the public high schools in Karawang Regency and to identify its implications for Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) counseling services. The research employed a quantitative approach with a survey design. Convenience sampling was used to select 140 senior high school students as participants. Data were collected using the Positive Body Image among Adolescents Scale (PBIAS), which had been adapted into Indonesian following the Beaton adaptation procedure. The results revealed that 69% (96 students) exhibited a positive body image, consisting of 57 female and 39 male students. Meanwhile, 31% (44 students) experienced a negative body image, with 27 females and 17 males. These findings highlight the importance of systematic efforts to foster positive body image among adolescents. One effective intervention is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which utilizes six core processes: acceptance, cognitive defusion, self as context, being present, values, and committed action, that work integratively to promote a healthy and adaptive body image. These processes can be applied in school counseling services to support students in developing positive body image.
