Abstract

Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) merupakan salah bentuk kegiatan Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi untuk mewujudkan kepedulian kepada masyarakat terhadap suatu daerah. Pengabdian Masyarakat dapat dilaksanakan di segala bidang keilmuan perguruan tinggi khususnya bidang analis kesehatan. Tujuan dari penulisan review artikel ini adalah memberikan informasi mengenai bentuk-bentuk kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di bidang analis kesehatan selama masa pandemi Covid 19. Sumber data diperoleh dari berbagai hasil kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dipublikasi di jurnal-jurnal PKM. Hasil review memperlihatkan adanya berbagai kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dilakukan di bidang analis kesehatan khususnya hematologi, bakteriologi, patofisiologi, histologi, mikologi, imunoserologi, toksikologi dan urinalisa. Kesimpulan dari hasil review artikel ini adalah dari kegiatan-kegiatan tersebut selama pandemi Covid 19, perguruan tinggi tetap melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian ke masyarakat yang didominasi melalui bentuk penyuluhan kesehatan, pemeriksaan kesehatan dan pemberian multivitamin untuk meningkatkan imunitas tubuh

Abstract

Nugget adalah jenis olahan daging restrukturisasi yang sangat rentan terhadap cemaran daging lainnya sehingga mempengaruhi kehalalan suatu produk makanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi cemaran sitokrom b pada nugget yang beredar di Desa Sukabumi dengan menggunakan metode Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Sebanyak 3 buah sampel nugget di desa Sukabumi diambil dari produsen yang berbeda dan divisualisasi dengan elektroforesis gel agarose 0,75%, dan divisualisasikan dengan alat documentation system. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan berupa pita-pita marker DNA ledder yang masing-masing berjarak 100 bp. Untuk kontrol positif yang digunakan daging babi dengan marker 130 bp. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh sampel tidak terindentifikasi adanya gen sitokrom b.

Abstract

Health is a condition that is not only free from disease but also includes all aspects of human life which includes physical, emotional, social and spiritual aspects. The purpose of this activity is to provide basic health information to the community about physical examinations, as well as provide counseling based on the results of health checks so that the realization of a healthy community to the community. So that if results are found that are not within normal limits, education can be given directly to regulate lifestyle and advised to consult the nearest doctor. If we can find out the abnormal process in the body as soon as possible, complications with the disease can be avoided as early as possible. For the implementation of PKM activities carried out at the Medika Farma Clinic which was held on September 21, 2023.

Abstract

Waste is a material that is discarded or discarded, which is the result of human or natural activities which is no longer used because its main elements or function have been taken away. Every human activity must generate waste or garbage. Sources of waste can come from households, agriculture, offices, companies, hospitals, markets and so on. Survey method by conducting observations at target locations and conducting interviews about community behavior in terms of managing waste and maintaining environmental cleanliness. The results of the evaluation of the counseling process showed that participants followed the counseling until completion and the counseling was carried out calmly and safely.

Abstract

Every day waste production is increasing along with the increase in the number of products and people's consumption patterns. As a consequence, the waste problem becomes neglected, as waste management is difficult for the community to control. Maintaining the cleanliness of the living environment is very important by managing waste through the use of existing facilities to reduce the accumulation of waste, especially household waste. For this reason, Community Service activities are held with the aim of providing education as well as building public awareness of the importance of managing waste. As a form of implementation of one of the Tri Dharmas of Higher Education. The method used is counseling about waste as well as education about how to manage waste by utilizing existing facilities and also simulating waste sorting by participants. As a result of implementing this PKM activity, the community can implement good and correct waste management in their daily lives and can take advantage of existing waste management facilities around where the community lives.

Abstract

Vitamin A is the most essential nutrient, this is because our food consumption is not sufficient and is still low so it must be met from outside. Vitamin A is a vitamin that has many properties for reducing mortality and morbidity rates, and is beneficial for human growth, and also plays a role in the body's immune system, protecting the body from contracting various infections. A deficiency of vitamin A can cause night blindness, which is another form of xeropthalmia including damage to the cornea and blindness. From the explanation of the various benefits of vitamin A itself, it is very important to meet the daily needs of vitamin A, especially for children and toddlers who are still in the process of growing in order to avoid various diseases ranging from eye diseases, growth and nutritional problems to infectious diseases. can endanger lives. The aim of this service is to educate the public about the correct use of vitamins and the importance of fulfilling nutrition, especially vitamin A for children. The method used in this activity is presentation of material, question and answer between the presenter and the village community, filling in the pretest and posttest. This service activity provides material understanding regarding the benefits of giving vitamin A to children as evidenced by increased knowledge after socialization and understanding of the community in the Coastal Coastal Village of Sumpang Binangae regarding Vitamin A in children.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus has become a serious and chronic metabolic disorder resulting from a complex interaction of genetic and environmental factors. This disease has become one of the most common metabolic disorders and continues to increase to alarming levels throughout the world. One effort to prevent diabetes mellitus that is safe and affordable is to use medicinal plants. The aim of this community service is to increase public knowledge about the importance of using TOGA for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. The method used in this activity is a lecture method followed by a question and answer discussion. Participants in the activity were from the Kampung Baru Village community where the participants' education level was at high school level. From this activity, it was discovered that before the material was delivered, 45% of participants had knowledge about medicinal plants that can prevent diabetes mellitus and after the material was delivered it was 97%. The conclusion of this activity is that participants' knowledge increased regarding what medicinal plants can be used to prevent diabetes and how to use them.

Abstract

Tanaman petai cina telah digunakan dalam berbagai sistem pengobatan tradisional untuk pengobatan berbagai penyakit pada manusia. Senyawa aktif alkaloid di dalam daun petai Cina dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mengobati berbagai macam penyakit, antara lain sebagai antibakteri, antiinflamasi, membasmi cacing gelang, sertadetoksifikasi tubuh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kadar alkaloid ekstrak daun petai Cina dengan metode spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Penggunaan metode ekstraksi yaitu maserasi dengan pelarut etil asetat. Kadar alkaloid ditentukan dengan absorbansi pada panjang gelombang 273 nm menggunakan larutan standar kafein. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan secara kualitatif, ekstrak mengandung alkaloid. Secara kuantitatif, kadar alkaloid ekstrak daun petai cina diperoleh sebesar 61,78%.

Abstract

Staphylococcus aureus is one of the most common bacteria causing infections in the world. One way to treat infections caused by S. aureus is by giving antibiotics. However, recently there have been many reports regarding antibiotic resistance. Efforts that can be made to deal with this resistance are using  natural  antibiotic  ingredients,  for  example  the  skin  of  the  zalacca (Salacca zalacca Reinw). This study aims to determine the difference between ethanol extract and ethyl acetate extract of the skin of zalacca (Salacca zalacca Reinw) against the antibacterial activity of Staphylococcus aureus. Salak fruit peel was extracted by maceration method using two solvents, namely ethanol and  ethyl  acetate.  The  extract  obtained  was  then  tested  for  antibacterial activity. The yield of the ethanol extract of the bark was higher, namely 1.57% compared to the ethyl acetate extract of 0.68%. The ethanol extract of the skin of the zalacca fruit has  higher antibacterial activity than the ethyl  acetate extract against Staphylococcua aureus bacteria.

Abstract

Carbohydrate content in food has nutritional content as the main source of energy that is needed by the body in carrying out metabolism. The purpose of this experiment is to qualitatively analyze the carbohydrate content in various foodstuffs through the Benedict and Lugol tests. The food materials identified were bananas, potatoes, honey, cassava, milk, green beans, corn, apple cider, rice and white bread. The results of the experiment showed that all food ingredients showed positive results for reducing sugar in the Benedict test. While positive results in the Lugol (iodine) test were found in bananas, potatoes, cassava, green beans, corn, and bread. The Benedict test aims to identify the presence of sugars that can reduce aldehyde and ketone groups while the Lugol (iodine) test aims to identify the presence of polysaccharides (complex carbohydrates).
