Abstract

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a major global health problem, exacerbated by the emergence of multidrug-resistant strains. Bacteriophages, particularly lytic phages, are gaining increasing attention as alternative antimicrobial agents due to their specificity and low resistance potential. This is a pilot study aimed at isolating lytic bacteriophages from hospital and domestic wastewater that exhibit activity against Mycobacterium smegmatis (M.sm) as a model organism for Mycobacterium tuberculosis (M.tb). Wastewater samples were collected from five locations and tested for lytic activity using a spot test on M.sm. The results confirmed the presence of phages in four of the five samples, as evidenced by plaque formation with varying morphology. Plaques from samples coded ABR and ABM were mostly clear and large, indicating strong lytic activity, while samples coded IS and VB showed more diverse plaque shapes, including turbid and small plaques. This difference reflects the influence of environmental origin on phage diversity. The highest plaque diversity was observed in samples with high organic content and microbial richness, supporting the hypothesis that phage-host interactions are shaped by environmental factors.

Abstract

Masalah pengelolaan sampah rumah tangga, khususnya sampah organik, masih menjadi tantangan utama dalam menjaga kebersihan lingkungan dan kesehatan masyarakat. Sampah organik yang tidak terkelola dengan baik dapat menimbulkan pencemaran, bau tidak sedap, memunculkan kuman penyakit, dan meningkatkan emisi gas rumah kaca. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan keterampilan warga dalam mengelola sampah organik menggunakan metode keranjang Takakura. Metode ini dipilih karena praktis, ramah lingkungan, tidak berbau, dan dapat diterapkan dalam skala rumah tangga. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui penyuluhan, demonstrasi, praktik pembuatan keranjang, dan pendampingan. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar peserta menilai materi menarik, pelatihan bermanfaat, dan metode Takakura efektif mengurangi sampah rumah tangga. Mayoritas responden juga menyatakan minat untuk menerapkannya di rumah masing-masing. Selain dampak lingkungan, kegiatan ini juga membuka peluang ekonomi melalui pemanfaatan kompos sebagai produk bernilai jual. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini terbukti memberikan kontribusi positif dalam membangun budaya sadar lingkungan sekaligus mendukung ekonomi berbasis sumber daya lokal.

Abstract

Program Pengabdian Masyarakat terhadap limbah Peternakan Sapi di Desa Harjasari, Bogor Selatan” dilaksanakan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengelola limbah ternak secara berkelanjutan. Desa Harjasari merupakan daerah dengan aktivitas peternakan sapi yang relatif tinggi. Namun, sebagian besar limbah sapi, termasuk kotoran dan urin, belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal dan berpotensi menimbulkan risiko pencemaran lingkungan. Kondisi ini menyoroti kebutuhan akan pendidikan dan bantuan praktis terkait pengelolaan limbah yang ramah lingkungan. Program ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan pemanfaatan limbah peternakan sapi sebagai bahan baku untuk memproduksi pupuk organik cair yang mudah diaplikasikan dan bernilai ekonomis. Metode yang digunakan meliputi sesi edukasi tentang manfaat dan kandungan nutrisi pupuk organik cair, demonstrasi langsung proses produksi, dan pendampingan praktis untuk memungkinkan peserta memproduksi POC secara mandiri. Kegiatan dilakukan secara partisipatif dengan melibatkan peternak sapi dan anggota masyarakat setempat. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai pengelolaan limbah ternak yang tepat dan peningkatan keterampilan peserta dalam memproduksi dan menggunakan pupuk organik cair. Peserta mampu mempraktikkan proses produksi menggunakan teknik sederhana dan menunjukkan minat untuk mengaplikasikan pupuk tersebut pada tanaman di sekitar mereka. Selain itu, kegiatan ini membuka peluang untuk mengembangkan usaha kecil berbasis pertanian organik yang dapat mendukung keberlanjutan lingkungan dan meningkatkan perekonomian lokal di Desa Harjasari, Bogor Selatan.

Abstract

This study examined the implementation and learning improvement associated with the discovery learning model assisted by simple molecular teaching aids in supporting in-depth learning of functional groups among grade XII students at SMA Negeri 2 Maginti. In-depth learning in this study refers to students' ability to visualize molecular structures, distinguish functional groups, and explain the relationship between functional group structure and compound characteristics rather than merely memorize names or formulas. The study employed a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design involving 29 students. The intervention used low-cost molecular models made from cork and satay skewers to represent atoms and chemical bonds during the discovery-learning stages of stimulation, problem identification, data collection, data processing, verification, and generalization. Data were collected through conceptual understanding tests, student activity observation sheets, student response questionnaires, and classroom documentation. Data analysis was conducted descriptively by calculating the mean score, mastery percentage, student activity percentage, student response percentage, and normalized gain (N-Gain). The findings showed that the average pretest score of 46.00 increased to 85.00 in the posttest, while learning completion improved from 10.34% to 89.66%. The N-Gain value reached 0.72, which falls into the high category. Student activity during learning was high to very high, particularly in constructing molecular structures (96.55%), discussing differences among functional groups (89.66%), and drawing conclusions from observations (86.21%). Student responses also showed high agreement that the teaching aids helped visualize molecular structures and clarify functional group concepts. These results indicate that discovery learning assisted by simple molecular teaching aids can support conceptual improvement and active participation in functional group learning, especially in schools with limited facilities; however, the findings should be interpreted within the limits of a one-group design without a control class.

Abstract

Elementary school students' science and mathematics literacy remains relatively low. According to the 2022 PISA literacy score, Indonesia lags behind the global average. In 2015, Indonesia ranked 44th out of 49 countries. The purpose of this study was to determine strategies for improving elementary school students' science and mathematics literacy. This research method used a Systematic Literature Review (SRL) to analyze literature from various relevant sources. Data collection was conducted through articles and scientific works from the last five years (2020-2025) obtained through the Sinta-indexed Google Scholar database. The study concluded that the factors causing low elementary school students' science and mathematics literacy are student misconceptions, an unsupportive learning environment, low reading interest, conventional learning techniques, and limited school facilities and infrastructure. Effective strategies used are the School Literacy Movement (GLS), the use of digital technology platforms, interactive media such as Interactive Flat Panel Displays (IFDP), and creative learning methods.

Abstract

Futoamide, Gentialutine, Gentiabetine, 1-[(2E,4E)-2,4-dec- adienoyl] pyrrolidine, Lycopodine, Dihydro-lycopodine are bioactive compounds that can be obtained Pseudomonas azotoformans UICC B-91. Previous research results indicate that P. azotoformans extract- ed with dichloromethane, chloroform, and ethyl acetate have antican- didal activity against Candida albicans ATCC 10231. C. albicans is considered to become an opportunistic pathogen and well-known as the main cause of candidiasis. This study aims to determine the mech- anism of inhibition of bioactive compounds from P. azotoformans UICC B-91 on the growth of C. albicans using the molecular docking method. Docking was carried out using the targeted (Lanosterol 14 alpha demethylase and Glucan endo-1,3-beta-D-glucosidase) dock- ing method with an exhausted parameter of 50. The size of the grid- box was adjusted to the position of the amino acid residues based on predictions of binding sites using PrankWeb. The docking results were obtained in the form of binding affinity resulting from the inter- action of the compound with the protein. Results showed that the three sample compounds had the potential to form strong and stable bonds with both protein targets with only two ligands show a binding energy value of less than -7 kcal/mol. In addition, the speed and stability of the bond between the sample and the target protein cannot exceed control ligands, thus it can be predicted the structure of ligand. Fu- toamide, 1-[(2E,4E)-2,4-decadienoyl] pyrrolidine, Lycopodine, and Dihydrolycopodine had binding potential with Lanosterol 14 alpha demethylase. For Glucan endo-1,3-beta-D-glucosidase, only Fu- toamide had the potential to form stable and strong bonds that similar to the control. It can be concluded that the futoamide, one of ligand from P. azotoformans compounds has the potential as a multitarget inhibitor of the two C. albicans proteins, because it has various affini- ties and interaction stability for Lanosterol 14 alpha demethylase and Glucan endo-1,3-beta-D-glucosidase.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct an in-depth literature review on the paradigmatic and dialectical transition between classical positivism and logical positivism in the scientific structure of higher education. Positivism , pioneered by Auguste Comte, positions the scientific method as the sole means of understanding reality through empirical observation . The evolution of this paradigm towards neopositivism by the Vienna Circle shifted the academic focus to formal language analysis , the rigor of mathematical logic , and the principle of strict verification. The research method used is a qualitative literature study with a descriptive-analytical approach that refers to the standard methodology of literature review from John W. Creswell. The results of the discussion show that the dialectic of these two schools of thought results in the standardization of research methodology in higher education that is quantitative and value - free (value-free science). However , this dominance has sparked criticism from Karl Popper 's critical rationalism and Thomas Kuhn's paradigm theory . The study concludes that higher education must be able to maintain a dialectical space between scientific precision and humanities values in order to address the challenges of complex reality .

Abstract

One of the functional food products that is often consumed by the public is probiotic drinks. One type of probiotic drink is kombucha. This study aims to explore the potential of kombucha made from roselle flower and chia seeds as a functional and healthy beverage for all age groups. Kombucha is a fermented tea drink enriched with roselle flower, known for its high levels of antioxidants, vitamins, and omega-3, as well as chia seeds, which are rich in fiber, protein, and minerals. The research was conducted in Depok, December 2024 using an experimental method. Data were collected through an organoleptic test involving 20 panelists who assessed the product’s taste, color, and aroma using questionnaires. The results showed an acceptance rate of 65% for taste, 62.5% for color, and 60% for aroma. Fermentation influenced the product’s color and aroma, while taste emerged as the most favorable aspect among panelists. Roselle and chia seed-based kombucha has the potential to be accepted by consumers as a health-promoting beverage that is not only refreshing but also beneficial, such as boosting the immune system and supporting digestion. This study is expected to contribute to the development of natural, functional beverages that support a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

Implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka mengusung paradigma pendidikan baru dengan nilai-nilai karakter yang tertuang dalam Profil Pelajar Pancasila. Salah satu dimensi yang termasuk didalamnya adalah bernalar kritis. Kemampuan bernalar kritis peserta didik ditunjang oleh aspek-aspek yang terlibat dalam proses pembelajaran misalnya kesiapan belajar dan keterampilan komunikasi lisan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kesiapan belajar (X1) dan keterampilan komunikasi lisan (X2) terhadap kemampuan bernalar kritis pada pembelajaran IPA (Y) di SMP Negeri Kota Bekasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode survei dengan analisis regresi linear berganda. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling dengan jumlah sampel 87 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner dengan skala likert untuk variabel X1 dan X2 serta tes objektif dengan pilihan ganda untuk variabel Y. Hasil dari penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa: 1) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kesiapan belajar dan keterampilan komunikasi lisan secara bersama-sama terhadap kemampuan bernalar kritis pada pembelajaran IPA di SMP Negeri Kota Bekasi yang dibuktikan dengan Sig=0,000<0,005 dan Fhitung = 31,732; 2) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan kesiapan belajar terhadap kemampuan bernalar kritis pada pembelajaran IPA di SMP Negeri Kota Bekasi yang dibuktikan dengan Sig=0,000<0,005 dan thitung = 4,972; 3) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan keterampilan komunikasi lisan terhadap kemampuan bernalar kritis pada pembelajaran IPA di SMP Negeri Kota Bekasi yang dibuktikan dengan Sig=0,000<0,005 dan thitung = 3,983.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of self-renewal capacity and mathematical disposition on students' mathematical reasoning abilities in mathematical logic and mathematical induction. The research method used was a survey with correlational analysis conducted on a population of 11th grade science students at SMAN 7 Bekasi in the 2020/2021 academic year. A sample of 42 students was taken using a non-probability sampling technique. The instruments used were questionnaires and tests. The data were analyzed first using data analysis requirements tests, namely normality tests, regression linearity tests, and multicollinearity tests. After the data requirements were met, inferential analysis was conducted to test the research hypotheses using correlation analysis and multiple regression techniques. The results of the study found that: (1) there was an effect of self-renewal capacity and mathematical disposition on students' mathematical reasoning abilities; (2) there was an effect of self-renewal capacity on students' mathematical reasoning abilities; (3) there was an effect of mathematical disposition on students' mathematical reasoning abilities. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh self renewal capacity dan disposisi matematis secara bersama-sama terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematika siswa pada materi logika matematika dan induksi matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei dengan analisis korelasional yang dilakukan pada populasi peserta didik kelas XI IPA SMAN 7 Bekasi Tahun Ajaran 2020/2021. Sampel diambil dengan teknik Non Probability Sampling sejumlah 42 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket dan tes. Data dianalisis terlebih dahulu dengan uji persyaratan analisis data yaitu uji normalitas, uji linearitas regresi dan uji multikoliniearitas. Setelah uji persyaratan data terpenuhi, dilakukan analisis inferensial untuk pengujian hipotesis penelitian dengan menggunakan teknik analisis korelasi dan regresi ganda. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh self renewal capacity dan disposisi matematis secara bersama-sama terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematika siswa; (2) terdapat pengaruh self renewal capacity terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematika siswa; (3) terdapat pengaruh disposisi matematis terhadap kemampuan penalaran matematika siswa.
