Abstract

Sumatran orangutans (Pongo abelii) learned the process of building nests from their mothers and started building nests around the age of 0.5 years. Orangutan nests have the most intricate arrangement of other primate nests. Orangutans built the nest as a place to rest, play, and protect themselves from predators and insect bites such as mosquitoes. Orangutan nests have different locations tailored to the needs and context of the nest trees. The shape of the nest and the position of the nest usually have differences due to differences in sex, age level, and body weight. The research had conducted at the Jantho Orangutan Reintroduction (JOR) Station, Aceh Besar Regency, Aceh Province. It had carried out from January to August 2021. The research method used is purposive sampling. The selected transects are existing (permanent) with FB, RI, and IS coding, which is part of mammalian transects scattered in the Jantho Pine Forest Nature Reserve. Observations were carried out as many as two repetitions in different months. The results showed several classes and nest positions found at the JOR Station. The nest classes found were 1, 2, and 3, while the others were not found. Nests in position 2 were the most founded at the study site, and position 5 was not found. It indicates no orangutan at the study site liked to play on the ground. This study gets four nest shapes, namely single round, flat oval, tiered, and irregularly widened

Abstract

This research report is motivated by 1) The process of learning Indonesian, especially aspects of writing skills in Class VIII A, SMP Negeri 1 Sekaran is still not satisfactory enough. The average score on the aspect of writing is still below the standard set at the beginning of the semester. 2) This requires the teacher to do remidial, however, sometimes the implementation of remedial is only a formality. Remedial is not done properly. Remedial is only done as a process of raising a child's value from a condition under minimal completeness to a condition of achieving minimal completeness. Research reports on learning to write news texts using the cooperative learning model Examples Non Examples through group assignments and individual assignments, researchers have done for up to two cycles. In each cycle there are four phases, namely (1) planning BP, (2) carrying out BP, (3) carrying out observations, and (4) making reflections. The four phases are planned and implemented to improve students' ability to write news texts through group assignments, and individual assignments using the Examples Non Examples model. The phases in the first cycle are designed as a result of reflection on daily learning activities. While the phases in the second cycle are designed from the results of the reflection of the first cycle, in this way it is expected that in the second cycle all students improve their ability to write news text with the Examples Non Examples model. From the results of the analysis of each cycle, it can be seen student learning outcomes have increased. In the pre-mastery stage students only scored 61% or enough categories, then in the first cycle the completeness value obtained by 72% was still sufficient category, at this stage increased by 11%. Then in cycle II the value of students' mastery learning increased even better than the first cycle, which is 89% and is included in the excellent category. In other words an increase of 27%, the 85% complete limit has been exceeded.

Abstract

One of the viruses that can cause disease in cats is feline coronavirus (FCoV). This virus is often divided into type I and type II. Type I is a highly pathogenic strain, feline infectious peritonitis virus (FIPV). Type II is a milder strain, feline enteric coronavirus (FECV). The FIPV variant is said to be a result of a mutation from FECV. FIP disease is responsible for 0.3%-1.4% of cat deaths in veterinary clinics. This study aims to determine if there is an FIPV in imported cats at Soekarno Hatta Airport, Indonesia. Samples were taken from 15 imported cats from Russia and Vietnam. These two countries were chosen based on previously unreported cases. The samples, consisting of blood and rectal swabs, were tested molecularly using RT-PCR. Four samples from rectal swabs showed positive results with a single band at 677 bp. Two positive samples, namely 123v and 682v, were further sequenced. The study results indicate that the FCoV virus can be found in asymptomatic imported cats. Further research is needed to better understand the mechanism causing genetic diversification of FCoV or FIPV and its impact on the pathogenesis of FIP. Furthermore, the application of FIP vaccines from other countries should be tested for compatibility with the FIPV strains present in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to review the concept of good village governance based on Jean Baudrillard's perspective on the concept of simulacra and hyperreality. This study uses primary data obtained from observations and interviews with informants. The research approach used is a qualitative method. The study consists of data collection procedures, data presentation, data reduction and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the concept of Good Village Governance has the potential to lead society to a state of hyperreality, where real and apparent reality are difficult to distinguish. This situation also causes information to be more easily manipulated, something that village officials must be aware of in their role in managing finances. At a time when globalization and the impact of modernity are unavoidable, it is time for village officials to strengthen the elements of professional ethics, moral culture, spirituality, so as to be able to create professional village officials who are also able to become role models in the midst of society.

Abstract

Indonesia is a country with the second highest number of Japanese language learners in the world. However, with the main language of Indonesia being derived from the roman alphabets, it makes Indonesian students hard to get used to learning Japanese alphabets, especially Kanji. This study aims to develop a gamified mobile learning application following the Octalysis gamification framework, and assess its impact in garnering student’s acceptance to enhance their Japanese Kanji learning experience. This study was conducted quantitatively using the Technology Acceptance Model, and analyzed through the Structural Equation Model. The data were collected via questionnaires from 194 members of the local Japanese learning community. The variables analyzed in this research are Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Attitude Towards Using, and Behavioral Intention. All variables are tested for validity and reliability using SPSS Statistics, and structural equation model analysis using SPSS AMOS. The results showed positive significant correlations between Perceived Usefulness and Attitude Towards Using, Perceived Ease of Use and Attitude Towards Using, and Attitude Towards Using and Behavioral Intention. The result also noted a negative correlation between Perceived Usefulness and Behavioral Intention. Each variable contributes to the acceptance of the gamified mobile learning application with a strong emphasis on Perceived Ease of Use, and a mild emphasis on Perceived Usefulness.
