Abstract

This study explores the perspectives of students and lecturers on code-switching within the English Language Teaching (ELT) classroom context at Lancang Kuning University. Employing a qualitative approach, this research utilized descriptive qualitative methods to delve into the perspective of the participants. Semi-structured interviews, guided by adapted questionnaires, were conducted with three examiner lecturers and four 7th-semester students from the English Education Department. Video recordings supplemented the data collection process. Lecturers strategically employed code-switching to enhance clarity and comprehension, particularly during seminar proposals and result presentations. Students acknowledged its usefulness in aiding understanding, especially in the face of low English proficiency levels. However, concerns were raised regarding potential overuse hindering English language development. Code-switching notably improved students' speaking performance and engagement in ELT classrooms. The study underscores the multifaceted role of code-switching in ELT classrooms, balancing its benefits for comprehension and engagement with concerns about its impact on English proficiency

Abstract

According to Pekanbaru Mayor Regulation Number 152 of 2017, one of the special requirements to become RT/RW head is having and being able to operate a smart phone. Facts on the ground can be seen in daily activities, RT/RW administrators rarely respond to information on the existing RT/RW forum WA group. If there are people who are still like that, don't know the function of the existing smart phone features, don't fully know the function of social media, especially WA which has been installed on their smart phone, don't understand or are not able to use social media as a medium for meetings, one of for example zoom meetings. Based on these two contradictory things, the PKM team has provided a solution to partners, the Tuahmadani sub-district RT/RW forum, in this case represented by the mothers of the Majlis taklim of the Nurul Ikhlas RW01 mosque, Tuahmadani sub-district, through a training activity called Cyber Eduvation for six months. . As a result, they were very satisfied with the knowledge provided, communicated smoothly via WA, and no longer worried that their Android cellphone memory would be full.

Abstract

Based on the results of research in November 2021 concerning the use of BIP video call media in the Speaking for everyday communication course, researchers found their abilities were at the poor level. As a continuation of this research, researchers have used BIP Video Calls to improve students' Speaking skills in the Speaking for Social Media course in the form of dedication. This activity has been carried out for half a semester using several procedures; Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. Students who have been involved in this community service activity are Semester II students of English Education FADIKSI UNILAK who are taught in the Speaking course, especially Speaking for Social Media. In this activity there are two types of data that have been obtained; quantitative and qualitative data. Qualitative data were obtained using interview instruments. Meanwhile, quantitative data was obtained through a test instrument, namely the speaking ability test. The results that have been obtained from this study are that there is an increase in their average speaking score from 52 to 53.2. still poor category. There are two factors that influence the change in the average value; firstly the sound quality produced by BIP Vidio Call is clearer and secondly the video produces clearer visualizations. In conclusion, the use of BIP Vidio Call in the Speaking course which has been carried out in the form of research and community service has the same result, namely that it can help students expedite their communication process.

Abstract

Kampung Patin or Koto Masjid Kampar village offers a wide variety of tourism products, such as culinary, nature and souvenirs. The last three years this village has been visited by many tourists from neighboring provinces, such as West Sumatra, North Sumatra and Jambi. In 2021, this village was awarded the ADWI (Indonesian Tourism Village Award) by the minister of Tourism. In addition, in the same year it also won the second National Champion award as a tourism village in the field of souvenirs. The results of the initial survey of researchers through the chairman of ASIDEWI (Association of Tourism Villages) Koto Masjid, after a lengthy discussion related to the progress of the village, especially in tourism, collaboration with related parties is urgently needed, especially to improve the quality of tourism actors there. Furthermore, the chairman of ASIDEWI said that; "So far there has been no training or learning for youth/Pokdarwis in Patin village as one of the tourism actors in the village about Guiding, we hope there will be an academic group willing to share knowledge about it," he said. Based on the results of the initial survey in the village of Koto Masjid above, the service team has sponsored training activities on Guiding for youth as tourism actors in the village of Koto Masjid or Kampung Patin. As a result, the participants felt very helpful and increased their knowledge about guiding and their hopes that there needs to be continuity and variation from this activity in the future.

Abstract

This study explores the effectiveness of inquiry-based MI learning in improving students' understanding of PAI concepts, increasing student involvement in the learning process, and evaluating measurable increases in learning achievement in PAI subjects. This study aimed to investigate and evaluate the effectiveness of Inquiry-Based Multiple Intelligences (MI) Implementation in improving student achievement in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects at SMP Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo. In designing this research, researchers used a qualitative approach and a type of case study. Researchers collect research data using three research techniques: in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies. Researchers used participant observation methods. This study used qualitative descriptive analysis of Miles and Huberman types. This study aimed to investigate and evaluate the effectiveness of Inquiry-Based Multiple Intelligences (MI) Implementation in improving student achievement in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) subjects at SMP Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo. The results showed that implementing the Islamic Religious Learning (PAI) strategy with the Inquiry-Based Multiple Intelligences (MI) Implementation approach at SMP Nurul Jadid Paiton Probolinggo significantly impacted the learning process and student achievement. This approach increases student participation and facilitates their involvement in the learning process.

Abstract

Problems in schools about understanding vocabulary, especially Arabic vocabulary, have until now become a problem in Islamic-based schools. Because students feel objections and difficulties in learning vocabulary in learning Arabic. The purpose of this study is to increase students' understanding of vocabulary through the listen for lies games method. This study uses quantitative research methods with experimental types. The experimental design used is a pre-experimental design with the type of one group pretest posttest. To collect data, the methods used are test, observation, and documentation. Hypothesis testing and research analysis using normality test, T-test, and F test (Anova). Based on the T-test, the average value of the pretest of students is 54.6667 with a minimum score of 20 and a maximum of 100. While the posttest average value is 90.333 with a minimum score of 70 and a maximum value of 100. This shows that there is an escalation in students' understanding of vocabulary. using the listen for lies games method. Based on the F test, the value of sig 0.018 <0.05, then the effect of the listen for lies games method on students' understanding of vocabulary.

Abstract

Purpose: In the midst of these dynamics of change, research, development and application of technology continues to be the main focus in efforts to achieve progress and efficiency in various sectors of life. Generation Z has been the primary architect of cultural and behavioral change on social media. One of the most prominent characteristics of Generation Z is their desire to create "viral" content on social media. Content created using CapCut often uses interesting video and audio effects, such as progress effects, dry effects, music effects, and so on. This application has various features that make it easier for users to create video content, such as video effects, audio and animation. This shows that generation Z tends to use the CapCut application to create and edit video content that they share on social media. This research was conducted based on a phenomenon that has recently occurred, where many generations Z want to create content on social media using the CapCut application and also from several previous studies that have been conducted which are still lacking in understanding CapCup user satisfaction as a medium for creating content for Generation Z. and from several interviews the author conducted with CapCut application users. Method: This research uses the user experience questionnaire (UEQ) method with six (6) variables, namely attractiveness, efficiency, clarity, dependability, stimulation and novelty. Dr. Martin Schrepp developed a special tool that can be used to analyze UEQ questionnaire results, namely the UEQ Data Analysis Tool. The UEQ Data Analysis Tool is in the form of an Excel application which can be obtained by downloading it directly from the official https://www.ueq-online.org/ website This study employs a quantitative research strategy. This study does not know the exact number of the population to be studied. So, the sample size was calculated using the Lemeshow formula, a survey was conducted on 96 users of the Capcut application. Result: Based on the results of the discussion regarding user experience, specifically Generation Z, in the CapCut Application using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) method, conclusions can be drawn from the 6 variables in the UEQ used, the 6 variables obtained positive evaluation values, namely the Attractiveness (mean 1.177), Perspicuity variables. (mean 1.109), Efficiency (mean 1.109), Dependability (mean 1.159), Stimulation (mean 1.151) and Novelty (mean 0.763) with the highest evaluation value on the Attractiveness variable. 2. Based on the benchmark results, the values obtained for the Attractiveness variable were 1.18, Perspicuity 1.11, Efficiency 1.11, Dependability 1.16, Stimulation 1.15, and Novelty 0.76. Each variable gets an Above Average value (above the average). However, there is still potential for improvement to achieve standards of perfection desired. Users provided invaluable feedback and suggestions, highlighting the need for improvement. Novelty: This research provides 2 recommendations based on the results of evaluations using UEQ, which are expected to help in improving and improving the quality of the CapCut Application in the future.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya pembentukan kewarganegaraan ekologis (ecological citizenship) adalah melalui pendekatan kearifan lokal (local wisdom). Amihud dan Mendelson memprediksi populasi penduduk dunia pada tahun 2025 mencapai 8,5 milyar. Akibatnya, kebutuhan pokok terus meningkat dalam rangka untuk memenuhi kebutuhan milyaran umat manusia. Hal ini mendorong adanya sektor produksi yang memicu eksploitasi alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan memotret pembentukan kewarganegaraan ekologis masyarakat adat berbasis kearifan lokal. Penelitian dilakukan selama sembilan bulan di Desa Tenganan pegringsingan, Kecamatan Karangasem, Kabupaten Karangasem, Provinsi Bali. Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode etnografi. Keterlibatan masyarakat adat melalui berbagai aktivitas adat dan ritual keagmaan serta kepercayaan masyarakat setempat turut serta dianalis dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui korelasi antara kearifan lokal terhadap kelestarian lingkungan di wilayah setempat

Abstract

Indonesia has the highest number SMEs in the ASEAN region. Employ 97% of theworkforce, contribute 60.3% to GDP and 14.4% of national exports. However, thecondition of Indonesian SMEs is still suboptimal, particularly in terms of access tofinancing and markets. This remains a major challenge for SMEs in expanding theirbusinesses. SME incubator gallery platform is one solution to enhance collaborationwith SME. Through this, SME can promote and market their products more widely andeffectively. The platform facilitates connections with potential partners such as suppliers,distributors, and investors, who can assist in business development and expansion. TheCanvas Business Lean method was employed in designing this platform. The outcomeof this research is the Incubator Platform, which SME can utilize to enhance theirbusiness competencies. To join this platform, SME participants register through theplatform and upon verification by the administrative team, they gain access to theprovided features.

Abstract

Along with the increasing times and the more busyness of humans, drying problems often become a very troublesome problem because it is still conventional by using direct sunlight. For example, when the crackers are drying, rain falls when the workers are doing other work. Of course the workers will feel anxious if the crackers that have been dried in the sun are wet with rain and have to be redried, so this research proposes to help the workers drying the crackers. This research will discuss the workings of the rain sensor, LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) sensor and heat / temperature sensor for drying crackers with the Arduino Uno system. This study aims to make a prototype cracker drying device that can automatically open or close the protective tarp for the cracker drying rack when it rains or the sun's light intensity has darkened using the Arduino Uno microcontroller. The design of this application uses the method prototype and uses the DELPHI programming language by utilizing the Arduino IDE and using the Microsoft Access database. The results of this study were obtained in the form of an automatic cracker drying tool application that can detect weather conditions during drying well. This tool will help the drying process from the beginning of drying until the crackers are completely dry and ready to be marketed.
