Abstract

Hospital wastewater contains hazardous pollutants that, if untreated, can harm the environment and human health. This study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) at Tk. III Brawijaya Hospital Surabaya by analyzing the removal percentage of phosphate (PO₄) and ammonia nitrogen (NH₃-N) parameters. This descriptive research collected wastewater samples from the inlet, primary, secondary, tertiary, and outlet stages of the WWTP. Laboratory analysis was conducted from September to December 2023 to measure PO₄ and NH₃-N concentrations. Results showed that the average removal percentage for phosphate was 70%, while ammonia nitrogen showed a removal rate of 33%. The concentration of PO₄ decreased from 0.01 mg/L at the inlet to 0.003 mg/L at the outlet, while NH₃-N concentrations dropped from 0.9 mg/L to 0.6 mg/L. Although the phosphate concentration met the regulatory standard, the ammonia nitrogen concentration remained above the threshold set by East Java Governor Regulation No. 72/2013 (0.1 mg/L). In conclusion, the WWTP demonstrated moderate efficiency in reducing phosphate but inadequate performance in removing ammonia nitrogen. Further improvements in aeration processes and increased retention times are recommended to enhance the treatment efficiency and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis kompetensi inti yang dibutuhkan dalam era digitalisasi logistik maritim melalui metode tinjauan pustaka sistematis (systematic literature review). Data dikumpulkan dari berbagai publikasi akademik internasional dan nasional yang relevan dalam dua dekade terakhir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi inti dalam logistik maritim modern meliputi literasi digital, pengelolaan data, pengambilan keputusan berbasis sistem informasi, kemampuan kolaboratif lintas sistem, serta adaptasi terhadap teknologi seperti IoT, big data, dan blockchain. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa pengembangan kompetensi tidak dapat dilepaskan dari dukungan kelembagaan, kurikulum pelatihan yang terstruktur, dan kolaborasi industri–akademisi. Simpulan dari studi ini menekankan pentingnya penyusunan kerangka kompetensi inti berbasis digital yang adaptif dan kontekstual untuk memperkuat daya saing logistik maritim nasional.

Abstract

Engine performance refers to the capability of an internal combustion engine to convert input energy, specifically fuel, into useful power. One method to enhance engine performance is to modify components of the intake system that affect airflow. A turbo insulator, which is a modified gasket connecting the carburetor to the intake manifold, is designed to generate turbulent airflow into the combustion chamber, thus improving combustion efficiency. This study aims to design and evaluate a turbo insulator on the intake manifold of a Suzuki Shogun NR-125 CC motorcycle through experimental testing of its impact on engine performance—specifically torque and power. A descriptive analysis method was employed for data analysis. Engine performance testing was conducted using an engine dynamometer, following ISO 1585 standards, within an engine speed range of 3,000 to 9,000 rpm, under standard factory conditions and with various turbo insulator configurations (5 and 7 blades, 45° and 60° blade angles, 4 mm and 8 mm thicknesses). The results indicate that the turbo insulator improves engine performance. The most optimal configuration, V-5 (5 blades, 45° angle, 8 mm thickness), achieved a maximum torque of 11.27 Nm at 3,500 rpm and a maximum power output of 10 HP at 7,750

Abstract

This research aims to determine whether wobble board training methods affect shooting accuracy in archers at a distance of 30 meters. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 12 archers aged 15–18 years, selected from the SELABORA Archery of FIK UNY. The instrument used was archery at a 30 meters distance. The data analysis technique employed Normality Test using SPSS 25 software, followed by a Homogeneity Test to determine whether sample variances derived from the same population were equal. Based on the research findings and discussion: Based on the analysis of the archery accuracy data of SELABORA Archery FIK UNY, the calculated t value (5,437) > t table (2,20), and the p value (0,000) < of 0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that wobble board training significantly affects archery accuracy at 30 meters among SELABORA Archery FIK UNY.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the rapid growth of coffee shops in Medan, which has also shown changes in consumer preferences. This rapid growth has led to problems arising from increasing customer demand and declining customer satisfaction, resulting in some coffee shops being unable to meet consumer expectations. This study aims to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial orientation and marketing performance on maintaining sustainable competitive advantage in the growing coffee shop industry. The research method used was descriptive quantitative, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 100 business owners, out of a total population of 650 coffee shops in Medan. The results indicate that entrepreneurial orientation and marketing performance have a significant influence on sustainable competitive advantage. Multiple linear regression was used to examine the relationship between the variables. This research is expected to provide insights for business owners in formulating appropriate strategies to increase competitiveness in an increasingly competitive market.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi medis memungkinkan pasangan dengan indikasi medis infertilitas untuk memiliki anak melalui penyewaan rahim wanita lain (surrogate mother). Akan tetapi, prosedur tersebut menimbulkan berbagai problematika seperti eksploitasi wanita dan anak, ketidakpastian hukum, pertentangan norma, hingga pengabaian hak-hak anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan perbedaan regulasi terkait surrogate mother di Indonesia dan India juga untuk mengatahui bagaimana kedudukan hukum dan hak waris anak yang dilahirkan melalui proses surogasi. Penelitian ini termasuk dalam penelitian hukum normatif yang  menggunakan pendekatan perundang-undangan, konseptual dan komparatif. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa berdasarkan hukum Indonesia, anak hasil surogasi memiliki hubungan hukum sebagai anak kandung surrogate mother,dan memiliki hak waris terhadapnya. Sebaliknya, menurut hukum India anak tersebut menjadi anak kandung dari intending couple, serta hak keperdataan lainnya seperti waris, nafkah, serta kewarganegaraan. Tidak adanya regulasi khusus terkait surrogate mother di Indonesia menyebabkan ketidakpastian hukum terhadap status anak dan merugikan hak keperdataan mereka. Oleh sebab itu, pemerintah diharapkan untuk menyusun regulasi terkait perlindungan hukum anak dari surrogate mother,serta edukasi bagi masyarakat terkait implikasi hukum anak dari surogasi.

Abstract

The Energy Efficient Car Contest (Kontes Mobil Hemat Energi or KMHE) is a national competition in Indonesia that challenges university students to develop ultra-efficient prototype vehicles. This study presents the design, simulation, and manufacturing of a custom steering system for the Laksamana V 1.0 single-passenger prototype vehicle developed by Team Laksamana. The steering system was engineered to meet strict requirements for weight, structural reliability, ergonomic fit, and maneuverability under competition conditions. A rack-and-pinion mechanism was selected after comparative evaluation of multiple steering concepts. Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) were employed to optimize the geometry and assess the mechanical strength of key components, including a tie rod made from SUS 201 stainless steel. The manufactured system weighs 3.74 kg, delivers a steering ratio of 12:1, and requires 2.8 Nm of torque, ensuring both agility and driver comfort. Although the measured turning radius was 6.3 meters—above the original target—it remains functional for KMHE circuits. FEA results confirmed that all structural stresses and deformations were well within safe limits, validating the design’s stiffness and durability. Overall, the developed steering system is reliable, efficient, and suitable for application in energy-efficient vehicle competitions.
