Abstract

This study seeks to examine the impact of bank liquidity on bank efficiency, utilizing risk management quality as a mediating variable at Bank Rakyat Indonesia in 2024. The study challenge arises from the significance of liquidity stability and efficient risk management in enhancing banking operating efficiency, particularly at BRI, which operates on a CASA-based funding model and possesses the largest credit portfolio in Indonesia. This research employs a quantitative methodology with an explanatory framework, utilizing secondary data derived from BRI's 2024 financial statements and evaluated through Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings indicate that bank liquidity exerts a positive and significant influence on both risk management quality and bank efficiency, whereas risk management quality positively and significantly impacts efficiency. Also, RMQ has been shown to partially mediate the influence of liquidity on efficiency. These results show that good risk management and high liquidity are two important things that can help BRI's operations run more smoothly and make more money. This study suggests that integrated liquidity enhancement and risk management methods must be perpetually fortified to sustain bank performance and competitiveness in the evolving financial sector

Abstract

This study aims to build a model of insurance company value based on revenue growth and operating expenses with Return on Equity (ROE) as a mediating variable. The study was conducted on six insurance companies listed on the IDX during the period 2020–2024 with a quantitative approach using SEM-PLS. The background of the study is the fluctuation of financial performance, especially the mismatch between revenue growth and equity efficiency and firm value. The results of the analysis show that revenue growth has a significant positive effect on firm value, both directly and through ROE. Conversely, operating expenses have a significant negative effect on firm value and are also mediated by ROE. ROE is proven to be a significant mediating variable in this relationship. The coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.982 for firm value indicates that the model has a very strong ability to explain the variance of firm value. Meanwhile, R² for ROE of 0.566 indicates a moderate influence of the two independent variables. This study emphasizes the importance of increasing revenue and operational efficiency as a strategy to strengthen firm value and investor confidence.

Abstract

The banking sector is a key driver of economic growth and financial stability, but it remains exposed to various risks that can lead to financial distress. Early detection using financial ratio analysis is therefore essential to strengthen resilience and protect stakeholder confidence. This study aims to examine the impact of financial ratios on financial distress. This study analyzes the current ratio, debt to equity ratio, and return on assets. The employed study methodology is a quantitative technique utilizing secondary data obtained from financial reports. Data were evaluated by multiple linear regression to ascertain both partial and simultaneous impacts of financial ratios on financial hardship. The findings indicate that current ratio, debt equity ratio, and return on assets significantly influence financial strain to some extent. Concurrent testing indicates that the three independent factors collectively exert a significant impact on financial hardship, with a determination coefficient of 75.9%. These findings affirm that effective management of liquidity, debt composition, and profitability is essential in mitigating the risk of financial distress within the banking industry. Practically, banks should actively manage liquidity, debt, and profitability to prevent financial distress.

Abstract

This study investigates the monetary transmission mechanisms influencing inflation and exchange rates across seven Southeast Asian countries (Myanmar, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam) over the period 2010–2023, with special focus on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The research addresses the problem of macroeconomic instability, particularly the volatility in inflation and currency values during crisis periods, and aims to identify the dominant monetary factors affecting these indicators. The study employs a mixed quantitative approach using Structural Vector Autoregression (SVAR), Panel Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL), and Paired Sample t-Test to analyze the short-term and long-term relationships among key variables: Gross Domestic Product (GDP), investment, money supply (M2), interest rates, inflation, and exchange rates. Findings reveal that GDP is the most influential factor impacting both inflation and exchange rates, followed by money supply and interest rates. The variance decomposition analysis confirms that these monetary variables significantly explain macroeconomic fluctuations in both pre- and post-pandemic contexts. The t-Test further indicates statistically significant changes in inflation and exchange rates before and after the pandemic, highlighting the disruptive effect of COVID-19 on economic stability. The results demonstrate that inflation declined significantly in most countries during the pandemic, while exchange rate behavior varied depending on economic resilience and policy responsiveness. The study concludes that maintaining macroeconomic stability requires not only monetary policy coordination but also effective public health crisis management. This research contributes to the regional policy discourse by offering empirical insights and evidence-based recommendations to strengthen economic resilience in Southeast Asia.
